Better late than never is a favorite expression and my usual mantra, so I shouldn't be surprised that I finally got Covid. I was a bit surprised when I suddenly got a sore throat a week ago and then couldn't move for about eight hours. After dodging Covid for over four years, I finally got it (fully vaccinated and boosted) and was shocked to see those double lines on the home test kit. First of all, this virus is not a joke! I've had dozens of upper respiratory infections and flus over my fifty years but I've never been unable to move out of bed and had fever dreams so weird Hollywood should tap my brain for some new storylines. I managed to make a video visit appointment with Sutter walk in clinic two days later and was pleased even in my spacey state how helpful the intake staff was (phone call about three hours before check in) and I was promptly seen at my appointment time by a competent and helpful Nurse Practitioner, even though spacey me had my volume on zero and I needed to log in two times. My symptoms were addressed and I got prescribed a cough medicine and Paxlovid which was available later that afternoon. Definitely recommend a walk in video visit from this clinic, a first for me. And, this new Covid FLirT variant is a nasty little thing. Stay safe out there, everyone. read more

Had an appointment to get my second COVID booster, and was taken in right away after verifying my ID. The gal working (ugh, forgot her name) was super sweet and very personable! She loved my tattoos and had me write down my artist, which was so nice. The whole process was really chill and I couldn't event feel the needle (sign of a good nurse!) and had no issues with it during my 15 minute wait. The entire place is very clean and professional, and there is plenty of parking outside. Love that it's close to home and right by a bunch of stores and restaurants! read more

I had a knee injury and showed up right before the clinic was closing. The entire staff was extremely pleasant and welcomed me in. They set me up in a room within seconds and got me fitted with a brace and crutches. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional. My experience was above and beyond the norm. Trying to get some medical assistance today, went online, not much help. Saw that there was a "walk-in clinic" nearby. Figured there would be a wait, but I'd go for it. First question: Do you have an appointment? This is a walk in clinic, right? Why would I need an appointment? I got a rather lengthy explanation about how scheduling works that there are only a few slots for actual walk-ins, and that the next appointment was for 5:40 pm. There was nobody in the waiting room, I only even saw one other person besides the receptionist. So my question, why do they call it a walk-in clinic? Where do you schedule when you want to walk in? Why, when there is literally no one in the building are they not able to see a patient? I'm not happy, obviously. Maybe I should consider another provider at open enrollment. I reached out to Sutter through MyHealth Online. It won't change the fact that they let me down, based on the polished explanation I received I'm not the only one. read more

They will call before your appointment to try and screen you out so they don't have to see you. Even worse when the appointment was made 24 hours before due to minor back sprain they wait until less then an hour before your appointment to call and tell you they won't see you and go to urgent care. Definitely won't be back to this location as I have never had any issues with other locations. Sutter website states these locations handle minor neck and back pain and I have been seen a couple years ago for a similar issue but apparently they actually do not handle this anymore per the rude person I spoke with. read more

My son caught a cold over the weekend and was feeling much better, however per school policy - he is unable to return to school until he had a negative Covid test. We previously went to this location get one done on 10/20/2021 and the process was simple and easy. My fiancé asked a specific question in regards to needing orders for a Covid test from my son's PCP. At that time, the staff assured us that we didn't and scheduled a same-day appointment for the test. We got the test done and received proof of documentation within 3 days time, as explained & expected. We liked that experience so much and that's why I gave 3 stars. We were hoping that it would be just as simple and painless this second time around. Fast forward to today 11.29.2021, just a little over a month from our last visit. My son and fiancé walked in and asked if they could get a Covid test done. A lady named Gina "assisted" them by stating, "We don't do that anymore" & when my fiancé asked why, she gave a very vague and repetitive answer: "Things have changed." She then proceeded to recommend that we reach out to our PCP to get orders for a test which we had asked our first time around and were assured that it was not necessary. As a worker in healthcare myself, I try to empathize with fellow medical staff because I know how volatile and ever changing times these are. However, from a patient's standpoint - I believe it is the job of the facility and their staff to communicate clearly and answer questions to the best of their abilities and today's service did not reflect this. Perhaps it was just this location that no longer offers it, or maybe they have changed their policy to need orders from your PCP. Whatever the case may be, the reasoning should be clear to staff and patients about why a service that was offered just a month ago is no longer being offered. We are extremely lucky to have many other places that offer testing, it was just quite disappointing that a place that usually leaves us feeling positive about our patient care experience fell short. read more

I did a walk-in and was surprised at how fast I was seen to. It all started with a phone call to their Natomas location, who informed me that there was currently no need for an appointment. Great! I have a procedure being done to me on Friday and one of the requirements was to get screen for Covid-19 first...well... I got to the location and was seen to by reception staff immediately, who asked for an ID and my medical insurance card. Then she handed me some forms to fill out, but was instructed to fill it out outside, in my car. Not the best of place to be writing, but I got it done. After giving her back my filled-up forms, I waited around 5 minutes before I was led inside for a weighing-in, BP, pulse and temperature check. Waiting for the actual test took a while longer...20 minutes! Must be only one person doing the test. But once the doctor/nurse came in, it was all easy going from there. The test was not that comfortable at all...but it was not that big of a deal really. The staff who gave me the test was really friendly and kind...gentle even (as the test, as I said was not that comfortable). It took longer to explain the test than the actual test itself. I love the place. Friendly staff, still all in smiles (in spite of the current pandemic). I came here for the Covid-19 test and not on some medical issue or emergency. I work around kiddos, so I get sick quite often! I don't have the luxury of not worrying about taking sick days, so I need to get to the doctor ASAP so I can get healthy & back to work. I've been to this location at least a couple times, most recently for a fever & earache; I scheduled the appointment online the day prior, and when I arrived I waited no more than 3-5 minutes. I suspected an ear infection due to my earache, but upon inspection, the PA suggested a strep throat test because my ears were fine! I thought that was random because my throat felt fine! She happened to be correct, I tested positive for Strep, got antibiotics prescribed, and was on my way home within 45 min of walking in the front doors! read more

I needed refill for my meds before I leave for a trip out of town. I recent changed insurance and didn't have a new PCP yet. They were unable to refill some of the meds due to some being for preventative care in which I needed to be seen by a PCP since it wasn't within their scope of practice. Took my mom there last night to get her first Covid shot. It was around 5 p.m. The gal working the front counter was a superstar. I asked her name and I have already forgotten what it was but she had long black hair and appeared to be of Mexican descent. There was a huge influx of customers at the time and she was getting folks their paperwork while taking temperatures, processing insurance and IDs and making sure the waiting room was only being occupied by the next in line. The rest of us just waited inside of our cars. I love having this facility in West Sacramento I used it prior to the pandemic for a shingles shot and was impressed with the interior and the gal who helped me that time as well. read more

I was in the Sacramento area for work and suddenly needed a walk-in. I initially stopped at a different Sutter location that was super busy. The receptionist at that location suggested this location (West Sacramento) because she said it appeared less busy. She provided me a phone number to attempt making an appointment on my way. While driving to this location, I called the provided phone number, was able to make an appointment in the next hour, and I was able to essentially complete the intake process over the phone that you'd normally have to do in person after arriving (insurance info, etc). I arrived at the office 5 minutes before my appointment and was seen immediately. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and professional. My visit was processed very efficiently. Bonus convenience (especially since I was from out of town) was being able to fill the prescription they gave me at the Target-CVS right next door. read more

I made and appointment for my second covid booster but I was turned away and was told you have to be over 60 years old. I said I thought it was over 50 and the person at the front desk said no its over 60. I called Sutter and was told that is incorrect. Customer Service apologized and I made an appointment at Walgreens. Waste of time for me. As soon as I said I thought it was over 50, the employee should have checked online or with a co-worker to provided me with proof that I was incorrect. That would have been good customer service. What a refreshing experience. I went at a time that wasn't busy to get a flu shot (I had made an appointment on-line which was super easy). The intake process was quick. The waiting area was clean as a whistle while being inviting at the same time. The room where the shot was administered was clinically clean while very warm with a large, beautiful mural and a poster advocating love! My clinician was in every way professional and kind.
