Summoned here by my new employer for a drug test. Plenty of lot parking. Mask required. No line and a short line. Good social distancing. Registration typical with any clinic. Waited 30 minutes. Sabrina, a medical assistant, got me setup and done. Simple. No worries about passing. I'm straight edged. Haha!

I finally made it in to Concentra after 3 failed attempts to get a pre-employment screening. The previous times, I was told to come back tomorrow since there was a 7+ wait to be seen. Fast forward to today, I was the 2nd person in line at 7am and still have not been called at 8:41AM nor the 1st person in line. I asked Michael L. who inform me that theres appointments but when I asked last week if I could make an appointment they kindly declined. Sorry but just like the other people here, I dont have 3+ hours to kill. Avoid this place at all cost and the other one near San Leandro Hospital operates basically the same way.. No providers, short staffed etc.

Came here for drug screening for a new job so my rating is based on that. The place was easy to find and across from Kaiser. Plenty of parking. The lady in front was nice. The front desk seemed organized and of course, you have to sign a lot of papers. Expect that! This was a Friday morning I might add and there was, at least, 15 people ahead of me but they were probably for doctor visits. The wait time was not too bad for a drop in for drug screening; maybe, 30 min? Once I got called, Debbie was awesome! Very friendly and easy on me when giving my vaccines and drawing blood! She found my vein easily! If I had to do this again, I would come back here. [40/100]

Michelle bridges is a doctor from this facility. She was very patient with me. I couldn't ask anything because she will raise her voice and treat me like an ignorant. I keep asking her several questions and she will get them out of every single one of them. Finally I told her to be patient with me because I was very stressed out about my injury but it got worse. I told her I didn't want her as a doctor anymore and she told me fine and told me to sit down I can vary demeanor way, I'll never want to see her again and I will put my complain whatever I had to

I opened the door hoping they'll assist me.

I am still waiting to be seen by a doctor for a Physical exam since 9am and was said will be seen at 11am. It's now 1:08pm and I am still waiting. I did not eat yet, I'm hungry and cranky! They offered water which never came. Can someone please help me! No star for this facility! Do not come to this facility! I won't!

As a parent of twins with developmental disabilities, I understand the importance of attendance. I also understand the reality of managing multiple therapies, medical appointments, school meetings, and life. Over time, repeated conversations about missed appointments, attendance reminders, and signing attendance acknowledgments left me feeling judged instead of supported. The final straw was accidentally leaving one week off a summer scheduling form, which led to another conversation about attendance. It wasn't about that one incident--it was the realization that this philosophy simply doesn't align with how I believe families of children with additional needs should be treated. The clinicians were wonderful, and the front desk staff were always professional and kind. My disappointment lies with leadership and the culture created by these policies. Families seeking pediatric therapy need partnership, empathy, and flexibility. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, and we chose to take our children elsewhere.

We finally got a good match and they "switched departments". Then they started saying I had to move my time due to scheduling conflicts even though we had waited 2 years to get the time slot we had. We got moved with a new SLP and I complained that they kept canceling and rescheduling. I can only assume they were double booking so instead of taking accountability for their poor planning, they decided to discontinue services simply because i advocated for my daughter. They dont seem to care about the children, they just want their paycheck

From intake to our final class, the staff made sure that the scheduling process was a breeze, and that visits did not fall short of expectations. They have an excellent staff dedicated to your child's development, and the office is pristine. Not just clean; very well kept. I noticed that there wasn't one tear on a book or broken toys. They put lots of effort into upkeep, knowing well that toys and books can take a beating with younger kids. East Bay Child Development Center has terrific speech therapists and therapists specialized in helping in all other types of child development, including but not limited to physical therapy, etc. We went through 2 different speech therapists and 1 or 2 therapy students which was a little harder for our son to grow accustomed to because it would take him awhile to warm up (which I've learned isn't unusual for any development therapy center), but each therapist tried their absolute best to ensure they were giving him the utmost care and attention.

That speech is not a good fit for him, that his sister runs around the hallways exploring toys and opened doors of offices, about me get a phone call so they discharged him from services. This is racism and discrimination by the way ladies I want to give you suggestions, your office needs a new administration, organisation and functionality. Everybody there seems to go everywhere, I don't know if these people work here are they clients. The back door to the outside was open, this is called dysfunctional. The office receptionist was like his first day to work, confused and looked around like a lost boy. There four people by office were speaking loud and chatting. They failed my son years ago when he was younger because they said he was not ready for speech when I just changed my insurance to get accepted to come here. Now he's 12 years old saying he's not a good fit. Shame on you to say that to me. You can't discharge him that's illegal. My son is trying with his speech and he has rights in California to receive speech therapy any age. Discrimination by the ability, then age, what's next because his sister running around the office and also I was on the phone? For that lady who spoke with me today over the phone couldn't wait on me. And making me feel like I was being fired from the job, she sounded rude and said my daughter was running around the room and I was speaking loud on the phone so the excuse to fail my son. Then changed her words saying he's not a good fit and he runs fast and wants to push the kids. She needs to find more excuses for her to dismiss him. You don't know how hard and challenging to be a mother of autistic kid. I finally thought I have him his speech going and then you locked me up like shutting my mouth. Go see if your speech therapist is the one who has the problem. She too lazy to give speech therapy or has a lack of skills. This is Shameless and discrimination.

In 2025 my mother had a brain injury and had to transfer from Stanford to an LTAC, so we decided to go with Kindred instead of another LTAC in SF, in part because accessibility and parking at Kindred seemed better to visit. This was a huge mistake. We spent the next months dealing with dangerously short staffing, and keeping a family member at my mother's bedside for all visiting hours. Nurse response times would EXCEED AN HOUR, and left my mother with anxiety that she still struggles with. Even respiratory therapists were hard to come by because they had too many patients to treat and clear my mother's trach within the frequencies she was prescribed. I took photos of the staffing whiteboards showing nurses with up to 8 patients, when they should have had no more than 4. Weekends were worse and holidays were skeleton crew. My mother acquired various infections at this facility, and nursing sanitization quality control was inconsistent. Respiratory therapists would re-use her inner cannula, rather than routinely replace, because the hospital did not have enough supplies in stock. As soon as Medicare insurance switched from per-diem to lump sum (weeks into our stay), Kindred staffing was VERY quick to urge a transfer to lower level skilled nursing, even though my mother still had a trach, zero mobility and fighting off infections. OT and PT was hard to come by, again because of staffing shortages, which only degraded my mother's bed-ridden state. (She did eventually transfer and gain the ability to walk again after finding better care) Dr. Nakagawa was one of the only saving graces here, as she truly tried to advocate for better care of my mother while the facility reps showed us minimal patient care and a lack of follow up when we complained about the sub-par treatment my mother was getting. Interesting article proving my point about the dangerous staffing nightmare we experienced : https://home.nuhw.org/2025/09/23/nuhw-members-whistleblower-work-prompts-state-investigation-into-kindred-bay-area-hospital/
