As a parent of twins with developmental disabilities, I understand the importance of attendance. I also understand the reality of managing multiple therapies, medical appointments, school meetings, and life. Over time, repeated conversations about missed appointments, attendance reminders, and signing attendance acknowledgments left me feeling judged instead of supported. The final straw was accidentally leaving one week off a summer scheduling form, which led to another conversation about attendance. It wasn't about that one incident--it was the realization that this philosophy simply doesn't align with how I believe families of children with additional needs should be treated. The clinicians were wonderful, and the front desk staff were always professional and kind. My disappointment lies with leadership and the culture created by these policies. Families seeking pediatric therapy need partnership, empathy, and flexibility. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, and we chose to take our children elsewhere.

The positives- Kelli is immediately available for afternoon appointments - something that is very rare in pediatric occupational therapy in the Bay Area without a long wait. Our child really enjoys the sessions and loves the gym space. What needed improvement- Communication - Kelli was responsive during onboarding, but communication became inconsistent and at times difficult. Kelli has strict and shifting guidelines about how and when she prefers to be contacted, whether by text or email, and even which days she prefers messages. These evolving expectations have been difficult to navigate and at times felt unnecessarily rigid. Measurable Progress - The therapy felt very general, without clear goals or a structured plan. Kelli discouraged a formal assessment, and her initial screening didn't lead to a defined treatment path. We were hoping for more targeted support and a stronger sense of progress. She also seems to sometimes have trouble recalling past session activities, which raises concerns about tracking and continuity.

Kelli was incredibly warm and personable, and she quickly built a strong connection with him. She helped him learn valuable tools to regulate his emotions in a way that was both fun and effective. We are so grateful for her support and highly recommend Kelli to any family looking for a kind, skilled, and dedicated occupational therapist.

This is especially nice for children who are overstimulated with too much going on. They have a mini parent book library, and lots fun games on the walls for children to be engaged. The office staff is also very kind and considerate. They are helpful, but not pushy, which is lovely for a family that is trying to keep up regular visits but occasionally have things come up (like sicknesses). I've experienced nothing but kindness from them. I like how they have text communication, which is a very nice tool to navigate absences and other things that come up. This review though is mostly for Dustin Losli. If this review allowed up to 100 stars, Dustin would receive all of them from me. My child was diagnosed with apraxia of speech and has been receiving care since he was 18 months old. I've been to see many therapists in a variety of settings (East Bay Regional, private, and via school district). By far, Dustin is the best therapist we have ever had. I can't rave enough about him. So much so, that I followed him to Therapy At Play from another facility. We now have doubled the time to get to speech therapy in following him, but HE IS THAT GOOD. Dustin is one of a few speech therapists trained in the PROMPT method. It is very difficult to find a specialist in this speech system in California. It was by luck that we stumbled upon Dustin and learned about this system. PROMPT is "a tactile-kinesthetic approach to speech therapy that uses manual guidance and touch cues to help individuals, particularly children, improve their ability to produce speech sounds." In having a child with apraxia of speech, PROMPT gives invaluable feedback to them in training their mouths to perform the correct movements in producing a sound. No other therapy has come close to assisting my son like PROMPT has. And Dustin understands this therapy style inside and out. He is such a gem and an invaluable asset to Therapy At Play. There is hardly anyone out there doing what Dustin is doing. In addition to his credentials and expertise, Dustin has become a mentor to my son. He started seeing my son when he was around 5 years old. My son had tons of energy and a very short attention span. Dustin has transformed his ability to pay attention, know there are consequences in not following (safety) rules, and help him know how to handle his frustration when it comes up during therapy. He is pretty much the only therapist who was able to successfully get my son to perform multiple speech practices in a session. Something invaluable in trying to assist apraxia. As I've worked with Dustin for a few years now, I've seen what an incredible human being he is. I am so grateful for being matched with him in therapy and feel incredibly lucky every time we have a session with him. I have the feeling we won the lottery every time I see him create a win with my son. It's what every parent hopes to feel. With Dustin's guidance, I've seen my son bloom far more than I could have ever hoped for. I am hopeful for many more sessions with Dustin - my son now looks up to him as a role model in his life, as well as a safe place to fail, and learn. Thank you Therapy At Play and Dustin for changing our family's lives. You are creating real change in the world - and I'm so grateful.

It's hard to put into words just how great Kristine is. I found her on yelp after discovering my…read moreson needed OT help. After reading the other reviews I knew she was who we needed, but I was having a hard time imagining that she would be able to make as big of an impact as other reviewers and her website had suggested. However, after a year of my then 4.5, now 5.5 year old, working with her I can confidently say she is in fact as amazing as other's have said. It feels just short of a miracle and I am so beyond thankful I found her and we as a family were fortunate enough to be able to work with her. Hand writing is one of the most concrete way to prove her work. My son was writing at a 2.5 year old level at the start (when he was 4.45) and he now has self selected drawing as one of his favorite activities to do. He chooses to sit down for literally an hour and draw away. We never really forced writing or drawing at home, this was all thanks to Kristine. He was hardly able to even hold onto the zip line in her back yard due to low abdominal muscle strength at the start of the year and he now is able to not only hold on, but he can pull his knees up to his chest and keep them up while zipping! Along with significantly improving all of the areas he was behind on (handwriting, motor planning, core strength), she also has taught him social skills, math skills, letter recognition, etc. And just by observing her sessions with him I have also learned skills on ways to converse with my son or have him listen better to me if he isn't listening to me. She is so skilled with children in so many ways. My son loves going to her every week and we are all so sad that he will no longer be seeing her weekly (because he has improved so much he does not need it anymore!). I want to add that I first had him in with a hospital OT at UCSF and the work they were able to do in the small hospital room was not getting us anywhere. I found that my insurance need up refunding me the same amount as they covered for the hospital after I submitted the super bills Kristine provided (because our family hit our out of pocket max). Can't thank Kristine enough!

My son had several issues requiring OT and we had seen another therapist for about ~2 months. The other therapist was nice but my son quickly started dominating the sessions and he wasn't making any progress. I had called Kristine a couple of months before that but she didn't have space to see my son at the time. Fast forward to September and I get a call from Kristine that she had an opening. I had read what other Yelp reviewers had said about her so I was excited to get started. I was in for quite a surprise. Her space is AMAZING. It is both indoors and outdoors and the space is HUGE. It has a trampoline, zip line, tree house, etc. which my son loves. Everything at Kristine's place serves a purpose, while also being a ton of fun. She hit it off with my son right off the bat and he felt at ease with her. He has a lot of energy (and I mean a lot...) but she knew how to focus his attention. She challenges him in a firm but kind and supportive way. In just ~2 months, he has made SO much progress. He never used to like to draw or write and now he can't stop writing his name or our names on everything. Both his fine motor and gross motor skills have improved significantly. Before seeing Kristine, it was hard holding my son's attention for more than 10 minutes. But just last week, he put together a ~300 piece Lego set all by himself! Additionally, my son was having some difficulty at school in his TK class. Kristine made the time to sit with my son's teacher and the staff and help come up with a plan to create a supportive space for my son. I can't thank Kristine enough. The progress my son has made since seeing her is hard to capture in detail in a Yelp review. I absolutely would recommend Kristine to any parent with a child needing OT.
