I came in yesterday for a physical and drug test and was told the wait would be about 2.5 hours, while the physical itself would only take about 1 hour. Because of that, I scheduled an appointment for today. Even with an appointment, I still waited 45 minutes before being seen, then another 35 minutes just for vitals and the urine test. I was unable to complete the physical because the wait was still too long, and I had to leave to pick up my child from school. read more

I was experiencing shortness of breath and flu-like symptoms. The lady at the front desk took my insurance card but could not verify that my insurance was in-network. I called the insurance customer care for assistance because your staff could not locate my insurance. The insurance card has a website and phone number for verifying coverage, but she did not even attempt to use them. Just because my insurance is not well-known, they acted clueless and tried to turn me away when I was very sick. The front staff at Concentra tried to send me away even though I could pay out of pocket. Please train your staff to be respectful and compassionate towards patients, and ensure they know how to verify insurance coverage. My insurance was willing to call this location to confirm coverage, but the lady at the front desk said she needed to send me paperwork, even though she was on the phone right in front of her. They did not take the urgency of my situation seriously while I was coughing and other patients in the lobby could hear my personal information. My HIPAA privacy was violated. All this added stress on top of my need for medical attention was overwhelming, and they informed me that the wait would be "2-3 hours." It seems they prioritized the DOT physical and drug tests, which can wait, over immediate health concerns. I spent 5 hours here just for a 2-minute time with the doctor. And paid $215. Front desk and staff does a good job. It's the (PA) Physician Assistant short Latin lady who thinks she knows everything, very rude and opinionated. She thinks she knows better than the treating doctor and doesn't know what goes on between patient and doctor but again she thinks she knows everything and what's going on in everyone lives. She treats everyone on Workmans comp horrible and says that we are "all" taking advantage of the system! Only if she new! She shouldn't be in a role where she can affect someone's livelihood. I was injured from work and was referred to go to this location because their Pleasanton location is always fully booked. When I arrived, I sat there waiting 15mins. The therapist came and introduced himself. He asked me questions about how i was injured and when it started. He was very thorough and i didn't feel rushed. He was really good . They had me on a six visit session. My biggest peeve was after my third visit, they had scheduled me with a different therapist because my initial therapist was not available. I preferred to stay with the initial therapist since he was the one who knows my situation. I felt it was very unprofessional to switch therapists. It was already inconvenient to have to drive out. Not a place i would recommend. read more

I would give 0 stars if I can. I am usually very considerate of businesses and often give a good review but our experience with this facility is the worst. I came to be seen for aware work related injury. I obtained this injury when I was tasked to climb up and down the stairs for seven hours while lifting at least 20 pound glass and other equipment. I was initially diagnosed with Achilles Tendonitis and Bursitis by our provider. I was even advised to file work related injury so I did. I was given a boot and crutches to assist with my walk. The day of my appointment with Concentra San Leandro, the PA-C looked at my foot, pressed the injured part. I was told that seven hours of going up and down the stairs was an "EASY TASK". This inconsiderate provider even released a paperwork stating that he is "ready to go back to work in full capacity" ignoring the fact that I CANNOT WALK. NO COMPASSION and CONSIDERATION. Please do not go to this facility! You deserve to be seen by providers who will look into health with lens of empathy. read more

AVOID AKUNNA OGBU AT ALL COST! Do not see Akunna Ogbu at this Concentra location, ask to see another MD or go somewhere else. I would just go somewhere else to be honest. Read the other reviews on yelp about this Concentra location and this so called doctor, all true! The other staff were professional and courteous. I was sent there by a rep from The Hartford for a worker's comp claim related to a spine injury. From the start, she was distrusting and skeptical that I was hurt. Asking why my coworkers didn't also get hurt and wanted to speak to my manager at work to "get the story straight". So infuriating! You can tell she has no compassion for the patients in her care. Asked what my pain level was at that time and I stated 3-4/10. She immediately explains to me that number seemed reasonable because I didn't seem to be in a lot of pain. I do my best to not aggravate my pain level by wearing a back brace and apply ice daily, careful when stepping off curbs and generally avoid all impact exercises, have trouble staying seated for prolonged periods of time (driving), and don't sleep well due to waking up 4-5 times nightly from back pain related to my position. Otherwise, my pain would be through the roof! I take max daily dose of Advil just to get through the day on minimal pain. When Ogbu had me reach for my toes or perform twisting motions, pain skyrockets! No other tests done! I brought in my MRI with interpretation and she immediately dismisses this, stating she can read the interpretation and didn't need to look at the image (says the occupational MD). She didn't even read interpretation either, just saw the injury levels and was good with only that info. After I bring up my concerns about her lack of compassion and attitude, she says "hold on" and proceeds to bring in a MA that sits as a witness, as though I'm the problem. Wow! So unprofessional! I returned one more time to try the physical therapy but could not stomach returning to this facility again and seeing her face. It seemed like the other staff there felt the same. I overheard one staff member complain about her using company resources to print out her vacation airline travel tickets, and during business hours. read more

My husband had to get a drug test and physical done for work but they only did the drug test. When we told them AGAIN, to do a physical we waited ANOTHER 3 hours.... In the end they lost his paperwork and we weren't able to be seen before closing. That says enough about this place. I will be letting my husband's employer know to no longer said employees here for their appointments because they're clearly not organized enough to handle having more than 1 patient a day. The only reason Im giving it a 1 is because of the front desk. I came there for a DOT Physical and they had me see the "PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT " well off top she came in as if she knew what she was talking about. She didn't take my History into account. She was very rude, demanding and unprofessional telling me what she should or could do never letting me talk , aak questionsor even explain. She only gave me 3 months for my DOT because of so called glucose in my urine and I could be Pre-Diabetic or have diabetes and needed medicine but when I went to my PCP and did a urinalysis it showed NO GLUCOSE AND IM NOT PRE-DIABETIC OR EVEN HAD DIABETES. I told them the results and still nothing She then came back with an excuse that I needed my sleep apnea test(already took one and it was low don't need a machine) and a healthier lifestyle. Again she didn't ask me my history or even took my history into account that I've already done these things. Then the killer part is she said my circumference of my neck !! Now she's trying to find any reason, I've already proved everything else. At this point I'm pissed off because this is my livelihood and my profession that's at stake all because she's a know it all and dont ask questions and thinks she knows everything and cant be wrong. She's very rude,unprofessional and feels she's right at all times.I even talked ro the office manager and that was a waste of time. I'm filing a complaint and I would NEVER come back there AGAIN I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy. This is worst experience and I've been a professional driver for over 20+years . The staff at Concentra (E. 14th San Leandro location) went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I arrived at 3:10pm after being turned away at Embarcadero and Hegenberger locations for a physical. Even though this location was busy, the manager as determined to make sure I was seen and was transparent about the wait time. He jumped in to help with my bloodwork while waiting for other members of his staff to be free to take over. I have tiny veins and most phlebotomists stab both arms multiple times before being successful. The manager (I think his name was Enzo?) was successful on the first try and made sure I was ok when he saw that I was afraid of needles. Amanda (medical assistant?) offered me a bottle of water after and took over with the physical before transferring me to the care of Dr. Ugbu. I was sent in this Concentra Urgent care because I was assaulted in the workplace unprovokely by a patient. I was hit hard at the right side of my head hitting hard my right ear. I have 8/10 throbbing ear ache and headache and the side of my torso were in pain.My BP was ranging 198/102 because of pain. I was feeling nervous and can't help to cry because of the trauma I had. The nurse was thorough, calm and reassuring as he do his assessments but the treating Physician Akunna Ogbu had a stern look, a proud intimidating tone as she introduced herself and got the otoscope abd just look in my ear and said" it's normal you can go back to work now..and why is your right hip in pain when you are hit in the head?" Her looks to me and the tone of her voice has no compassion, she asked so rudely. I demonstrated what happened , that the assailant hit me with a closed fist in the head hit hard my right ear and my side was stretched out almost fell but was caught by a coworker preventing me to fall. She handed me the paper telling that i can go back to work immediately without restrictions. I didn't say anything to her, I slowly went out in the clinic,so distraught about how she treated me. No empathy, no compassion. This doctor should be taught Therapeutic communication, kindness, and humility, and maybe needing a HEART. I've been in the medical field as an RN but never in my life I had an encounter with a very rude Doctor like her. If I could give ZERO stars, I most definitely would. Currently sitting in the waiting area - I've counted almost 10 people (who have arrived after me) being seen before me. I arrived here at 9am and have been waiting for an hour now.. I went to ask the receptionist how much longer it would be because the person who arrived AFTER me, was able to see the doctor before me. I was there early in the morning like the girl recommended me to come when I called in asked to make an appointment I made an appointment and came in early and I still had to wait four hours!!! It's my first time here due to WC. They have hand sanitizer at the front...most waiting room chairs are used to create counter space between the front desk and patients coming in. The waiting room was full so I waited outside until it cleared. I was a walk-in and I was there a total of 4 hours maybe. Lots of waiting and a few mins with the doctor. Establishment was clean and the doctor took extra cleaning precautions. Plenty of parking. I honestly thought I'd be there longer...we'll see how PT and follow ups are. read more

I'm being seen here because of work-mans comp through my job. This is the 4th time I had to come in for updates while I'm on leave and physical therapy. Had an appointment at 10am wasn't brought back to my room by the nurse till 10:30 she then tells me my doctor is two patients behind so it'll be a little while. I wait another hour in the room it's now 11:36 and a different doctor is taking over. He sees me for 5 minutes and tells me he's done and will send the nurse in to give me my discharge papers! This is ridiculous and although I told him I'm sore and can't move he said it won't hurt you, so do it. Rude and not efficient these doctors are always rushing in and out, don't listen and we're always waiting for more than an hour for a quick exam! Don't come here if you have a choice it's a joke. read more

I would leave a 0 star if available. I was seen today by Dr Ogbu Akunna. Never in my 33 years of life did I experience unprofessionalism and rudeness like I did today. I was being seen for a knee injury follow up. However the first thing she asked me when she walked in the room is if my lips are okay? Nothing to do with my injury I felt she was being petty. I do have lip fillers and was wearing my retainers. Idk why she felt she can comment on my lips when I wasn't being seen for my lips. She said my X-rays and exam was fine so she was going to close my case I asked her why I still have pain. She then went into the hall left the door open was whispering to a colleague like I couldn't hear about my case which is a violation of HIPAA. My appointment was at 12 she didn't come in until 1245. This was my first time going to this location I usually go in Fremont. This one was more convenient for me cause it's closer to home. She was in a hurry because she was behind so that's why I felt dismissed. She stated I don't like when people come here from another location cause then I have to look at the paperwork. Like it's not her job to do that. I basically felt like she didn't want to help me because she had to read my case. People go here who are injured and in pain. Who is she to tell me what I feel. Now I have to reopen the case with my adjuster all because she's bitter and miserable. I was crying because of this experience. I left a complaint with her supervisor and I'm also filing a complaint through the board. I felt like she didn't care because that's what she showed. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION OR SEE THIS DR. I had a good experience with this Concentra location. I came in for a routine work clearance exam after being turned away, with an appointment, at the Concentra location on Merced because they were shorthanded. I waited about 1.25-1.5 hours without an appointment, which wasn't bad at all. They were clearly really busy but I really appreciate that the staff worked to get me through. The staff was also very thoughtful and explained each test to make sure you were comfortable with each exam and feeling well afterward, which I'm sure is helpful for people who haven't been through the process before. I would request this location again in the future because the staff is great, the facility is very clean, and they are very efficient overall. read more

The people here at Concentra in San Leandro are awesome! The parking lot is very convenient; it's not to far from the clinic's front door. Once inside the clinic, one can find plenty of seating. The front lobby was full today when I went in, however, the kind lady at the front desk said that I could take a seat on the other side of the wall facing the rehabilitation area so that I could finish filling out my paper work. I have been to the Concentra Urgent Care in Union City before, but I didn't enjoy the service I received. Overall, I am thankful for the friendly and professional service I received today. I feel sorry for anyone who has no other choice but to come to this facility. They are rude and unorganized. You'll be lucky to be called into your appointment an hour after you check in. They are constantly rescheduling appointments without giving the patient ample time to adjust their schedule. There's been too many times where they called me the day before to let me know my appointment has been moved and unfortunately the doctor that I had to work with only works one day a week.
