Am giving this a three star for 2 reasons , first is the service. Sarah was awesome she went above and beyond. We love this place we visit usually once a year since we live in Syracuse so our tradition is first night in Florida to eat dinner at Conchy Joe's now I ordered the seasonal salad with the grouper fish. The amount for 15 dollers salad. Was unbelievably tiny I had to say something which I usually don't unless it's really bad I end up eating my dinner after everyone else was done because my food that I replaced with salad came later , Sarah thank you for making our day after driving all day. read more

Back on the east coast and we were looking to have a casual dinner. My husband had been here for lunch years ago with a friend so we decided to give it a try. It was a really beautiful night so we decided to eat on the outside deck. Nice views of the water. Service was good but nothing spectacular - we waited a bit for our drinks and when the server asked if we wanted sherry in our conch chowder - he never returned with it. That said, there was nothing truly awful about it and the food more than makes up for. The above mentioned conch chowder is delicious, with tons of conch... not like some chowders you get that are mostly veggies and potatoes. We got the seafood combo as an appetizer - shrimp, clams, oysters and fish dip. Just enough of each and all of it very fresh. My husband got the blackened redfish - a generous sized piece of fish that was fresh. You can definitely tell that this was never frozen. I got the conch stuffed shrimp. Again, nice chunks of conch in the stuffing and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Had the key lime pie for dessert - its been a while since I've had a key lime pie, so I can't really compare it to "the best I ever had", but it was pretty damn good. read more

Fun little place next to the river. Great view, nice summer breeze. Attentive and friendly waiter. Food and mixed drinks were delicious. We had the conch fritters which were generously portioned. Fish tacos are a must try--hubby was jealous that he chose to have his fish in a bun. Lol. I also had fried plantains with mango sauce--like dessert! Yummy!!! I haven't been here in years till recently. Went and two of my table got the fried shrimp, they tasted frozen and were terrible. Worst fried shrimp we have had in the area, ordered tacos as a appetizer, were not good, no one at the table liked them. The ambiance was good. Very fun and tropical. However, the food was not the best seafood I've had and the price was too high for their portions and food. We ordered conch fritters, alligator tid bits, crispy fried calamari for appetizers- all left much to be desired- were too greasy and lacked flavor. The conch chowder we ordered was good. I'd recommend that. They were out of clam chowder. We ordered 3 conchys seafood feast platters- each at 41 bucks plus tax... which we thought would be generous portions considering the name of the dish is "feast"- it was definitely NOT a feast- tiny crabs legs and small portions of everything else that is included in the "feast"- shrimp, clams, mussels. The service took forever, granted the establishment was packed so can't really knock it for that. Overall an ok experience mainly because of the ambiance, though it would be nice if they could treat the place for mosquitos as we all definitely left bit. I think if they improve the food a bit and treat for mosquitos, this could easily get 5 stars, even with the lag in service- because it really is a fun place on prime real estate. read more

What a major rip-off! IF I COULD GIVE THIS RESTAURANT A NEGATIVE 5, I would!!! At this restaurant the menu shows two different weights and prices for it's fresh fish. Right there, is a warning sign!!!! In the sea-side town of Jensen Beach, FLorida, where this restaurant is located, fish is plentiful. That being said, because I cannot eat breaded fish, I ordered the 8 oz size of "Grilled" Mahi-Mahi. What came out from the kitchen to my table was one of the tiniest, soggiest pieces of fish I have ever seen. It did not look as if it had been grilled. It looked like it was boiled, with a few "grill" marks on it.. ALL FOR THE COST OF $25.95!!!!! I am assuming that there was major shrinkage when the fish was cooked because there is NO WAY that this was 8oz!!!! See the photo and judge for yourself! I did not eat one bite of the fish! Again consider the $25.95 price point!!! My horror was obvious and 3 managers were most attentive. While they offered to "replace" my piece of fish, they told me it would be the same size and cooked in the same manner. Since I cannot eat breaded fish, I opted to comp the meal, leaving this place hungry and frustrated. We were able to access the waitlist from our phones which allowed us to relax in our car until it was our turn to be seated. The wait was only about 15 minutes - which is what we were told. Once we were seated, we were treated by a friendly waitress. The food was excellent and fast. We ordered our food and within 10 minutes we had freshly made and warm food. The shrimp were excellent as well as the Mahi Mahi. We also ordered a side of clam chowder which was perfect. All in all very good experience. Only gave four stars due to pricing but that was understandable. read more

We have lived in the area for a year and just made it to Conchy Joe's to celebrate my birthday. It was a rainy night, but the place was hopping with a baseball tournament going on nearby. We were seated quickly and I was surprised by how big it was inside. Such a fun atmosphere! We were seated by the water which was a bonus in my book. Our waiter was attentive and seemed cool under pressure even though he had some big parties he was waiting on. We enjoyed the smoked Mahi dip w/ crackers as an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by the basket of fresh cornbread and banana bread. We all enjoyed our meals......coconut shrimp, the shrimp tacos, and fried conch strips. We had birthday dessert waiting at home.....next trip I am going to have a piece of key lime pie for sure! read more

I have to start by saying this was my go-to for birthdays or guest from out of town. I was there twice in the last two months and both times my entree was sub par. I ordered the fried shrimp on my first visit. It came out over cooked, but I'm not a complainer. I ate the the shrimp as I was hungry. I was going to chick it off as the cook was busy, no problem it happens. Yesterday I returned ordered the shrimp again and it came out the same way. Ate: Crablegs Conch chowder Grouper sandwich with mango sweet plantains The conch chowder is served with sweet sherry and it is sensational.....Full of diced veggies, potatoes and conch, it has a one of a kind flavor and I ordered some to go.....I could drink,bowls of this brew. Fish was super fresh served on a soft roll and balanced off with the seet mango plaintains- a Red Stripe to wash it down, it does not get any better than this! I often turn to Yelp for dining and activity recommendations while traveling. That's how we stumbled upon Conchy Joe's. It was nearby, had fairly good reviews, and the photos looked good. Boy are we glad we listened to our fellow Yelpers! What a pleasant experience we had here from start to finish! We were seated, given menus, and our server was with us quickly. Specials were noted and drink orders were taken. Everything came out fresh, quickly, and delicious! The conch fritters were fried perfectly and very tasty. The dipping sauce had a great kick. My Chickee "Not Tiki" Tacos were wonderful and had a lot of shrimp, very hearty. Everyone else loved their meals, too. The variety was good: the others in my party got some kind of chicken sandwich (I believe it was a special), a burger, and a shrimp pesto entrée (also a special). Something for everyone! I took a piece of home-made key lime pie and it was good! Nice and tart. The atmosphere was fun and casual, the service was perfect, the food was delicious, and the price was right! My cousins and I ate here for the first time last weekend. We really liked that it was right next to the water and got to sit in their "dock" area. We ordered calamari and gator bits as appetizers. Both were good. I was unsure about the gator because the last time I had it in a completely different state, it was horrible. The server explained to me that if it had fat that that was why I hated it. So now I trust eating gator again after having it correctly at Conchy Joe's. I ordered the steamed mussels with tequila butter. It wasn't too much food, but just enough so I wasn't feeling like I over ate. My cousins ordered, U-peel shrimp, seafood mac, and conch salad. This place is BUSY. We were seated right by the water - where some annoying kids proceeded to throw French fries and trash at the seagulls next to us. No one ever asked them to stop. I got the Hemingway to start - their take on a daiquiri. It was so strong - it just tasted strong. No real flavor - just a lot of alcohol. Maybe cheap alcohol? When I was looking over the drink menu I asked the waitress the price of the drink - she couldn't tell me. When I asked if she could check she said "Oh it's like $7"... We split an order of conch fritters that mostly tasted like burnt fryer oil. Their prices are outrageous. They claim that they charge so much because they only use fresh fish and "everyone else uses frozen". I'm not buying that. Fresh fish doesn't justify $30-$40 platters. Our entrees came with a salad. It was your generic bagged salad. The fish was ok. It was a small portion and it was extremely tough - a lot like frozen Mahi... Bottom line - If you just HAVE to have some sea food by the bay then go ahead. But you will pay a hefty price and be underwhelmed. read more

This is like real estate, location location location. The location is the selling point here. A little place but right on the water. Great views and ok food. Sitting outside with the heaters on was comfortable even on a chilly (sofl) day. Went to meet a work associate for lunch. I wish the had the clear plastic windows open but it was chilly. The food was ok. How do you go to Conchy Joe's and not have conch? We had an order of conch fritters. While Conchy can be chewy, I thought this was a little too chewy. The flavor of the breading and dipping sauce was good. The Chowder was very good. The fish sandwich was also tasty. Overall pretty good but not great. If local I would go again. A quick stop on the way back to Tampa for dinner on a Saturday night proved to be pretty darn good. My husband had been raving about the conch chowder for several years and he finally got the opportunity to take me. We had fast service at the start with drinks and gator tid bits. We then decided to get the coconut shrimp app, 6 shrimp cocktail and 2 bowls of conch chowder. The gator bites weren't very good and they were too chewy. The coconut shrimp were very good, the shrimp cocktail were very large and the cocktail sauce (we believe homemade) HOT! the way we like it. The conch chowder was really really good (don't bother with a cup), the bottle of sherry to add to taste as you like. The soup itself was the perfect thickness. The only thing is there should have been more conch in it. The atmosphere was fun, great spot on the water, docks available to arrive by boat. Be careful in the parking lot - it's easy to get run over in there. Just know what to expect when you go to a beach/waterfront casual restaurant. It was packed, we didn't have a long wait for a table and the staff was friendly. We will return. read more
