    Margarita...
    Jeff R.

Right on the water with great old school charm, salty seafood house ambiance with friendly staff and dinner specials. Margarita i ordered was good, just a lot a bit salty, and (2) oyster shooters naked with just oyster, vodka, lemon, and tabasco. Was unable to try their main dinners but will be back next time to see how their food and specials rank. Out of all the bars / restaurants in Post Salerno, this was my favorite for charm and views.

Great burger but overcooked green beans.

The view is always great on the water. Waitress was nice but not very attentive. I had the burger and substituted fresh green beans for the fries. Burger was great but the green beans were way overcooked so they had no flavor. Traded them in for coleslaw. Husband had lunch grouper bites with fries & chowder. That was tasty he said.

Our first time tonight and it was such a cute spot! The drinks were good, the service was attentive, the food was fresh and hot but the view was the main attraction. The "famous" grouper ruben was perfectly fried portion but was missing sauerkraut. My husband enjoyed the clams and oysters basket. We both had a cup/bowl of their delicious clam chowder and the flavor was soo good, I wish there were more clam pieces in it but the flavor was good overall. We will definitely be back.

I travel a lot for business as a boat dealer/Yacht broker.I was in Stuart on business and went to Shrimper's for lunch. I was totally impressed by the menu, which had a lot of healthy options to choose from, and they were super kind about making changes to accommodate my diet. I had the Grilled grouper, double order of the green beans, and an Arnold Palmer on the sidea perfect meal for a Fitness freak like me! I wish I could remember my waitresses name. She was awesome. I highly recommend it. Kim Sweers, THE BOAT BOSS

We were greeted immediately and were seated on the water. Beautiful view. Very cute nautical atmosphere. Lunch menu had quite a selection for a fare price. Regular menu has something for everyone. Quick service. Delicious and plentiful food portions.

Darrien served us lunch with 5 star service ,menu knowledge was magnificent. Then went to the top bar where Lindsay made the most phenomenal Key Lime Martini. It tasted like magic in my mouth. Will deff come back for Lindsay and Darrien

Today, I went to shrimpers for the first time. I ordered the fried Cod with fries and it was delicious.

We enjoyed the Steelers banner being from Pittsburgh!

We ate lunch at Shrimpers and had a wonderful visit. A friend had recommended it. I ordered the sea scallops and hubby got the fried cod. Everything was delicious. Service was very good, and the view was gorgeous! Would definitely return when in the area again.

Look I was really hungry and all I wanted was some good food. Chris had already been here a couple years ago so he said that it was going to be a good atmosphere and good food selections. It's hot down here in Florida now, Let me tell you that much! I started with the sweet tea of course, followed by a classic Mojito, a cup of conch soup and shrimp skewers platter jerk-flavor style. It did not take long for the food to be served at all. The weather was perfect with a nice breeze, good music, and a very very, very kind staff. I will be back, of course, sometime in the future.

Well, it's kind of true what they say. Eat fish in a fish restaurant. Even though the special was prime rib, I found it to be a bit lacking in flavor. It wasn't tough, but it had a whole lot of waste on it. A bit bland and mediocre. The mashed potatoes were lacking in flavor and texture. A bit of milk or butter whipped into them might have saved them from being the stiff, dense potatoes that were served. My companions had the scallops and grouper reuben and were satisfied. No raves...the ambience of this restaurant being right on the marina goes a long way in recommending it if you want a waterside place to eat. The food is ok...a good place and reasonable prices in a great location. The service was fine...no issues at all.

Absolutely mediocre from service to food. Stale chips and under seasoned food. Please go try something else.

Yes they are pet friendly but why do people insist on taking their pets to over crowded restaurants. Think of the other patrons and not just you and your dog who should stay home

For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

The cute outside tiki style dining area had a bar and a great island type feel. Unfortunately, it was packed, so we chose the inside dining area. Unlike the outside area, which felt quite tropical islandish, the ambiance of the inside dining area was... well let's just say, functional. First let's discuss the service. Our server was fantastic. Explaining the specials, keeping our drinks topped off and providing just the right amount of attention (not overbearing and not missing in action when needed). She was what restaurant "servers" used to be and are now degraded to "food deliverers". On to the food. My lovely bride ordered the salmon and I... although I initially intended to enjoy seafood at a "seafood restaurant", decided on one of the specials, duck with a blueberry glaze. We started our meal with the mussels in white sauce. The mussels were great and the white sauce was ideal for bread dipping which we chose to indulge in until the little rolls ran out. Salads were included with our meals. Usually when you get an "included" salad, it's an afterthought and tastes like an afterthought. But it was clear that these salads were not that. I ordered the Caesar's salad, my spouse the house salad. Both were great (except for the tomatoes on the house salad which were blah). Both salads were icy cold with just the right amounts of dressing. Good start. My brides salmon was prepared well but lacked something. We both agreed it needed some type of sauce to add a bit more flavor. Her side dish included lemon rosemary potatoes. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a hint of lemon or rosemary. They actually looked and tasted like breakfast home fries. My blueberry "glazed" duck was actually blueberry "bathed" duck. I have never had duck in an actual pond of blueberry "juice". It was too thin to be called a glaze. I must admit, once you overcame the blueberry juice, the duck was cooked to perfection. As a chef, I understand how hard that is to do. Not overcooked, crispy skin, juicy interior. This duck would have had it all if not for the blueberry "juice".. excuse me "glaze". My duck was accompanied by an ample serving of excellent fresh spinach with bit of garlic topping. For desert, we shared the vanilla/chocolate Tartuffe which was excellent. One of the things we found appealing was the prices. Everything was in the twenty + dollar range. Not bad in today's inflated dining market. The bottom line of any review is... would we come back? The answer is yes. This time we'd sit outside in the tiki bar area to get more of the island feel, hopefully get our server to serve us again and try a few more dishes. Perhaps something that included clams since the restaurants name is after all Mangia "Clam" Bar.
