What a great office! I have been going to Dr. J for about 5 years now. His staff is very easy on the eyes (if you know what i mean:-) and everyone is always happy and cheerful. Recently I had to have a filling replaced. Needless to say i was a little nervous since it had been at least 20 years since i needed a filling. OMG IM SO EXCITED! After not having gone to the dentist for an embarrassingly long amount of time, I'm so glad to have had a visit today with Dr Grossman in Brentwood! I had Natalie and Madison taking care of me and these girls really knew their stuff. I got my teeth cleaned today, and am getting them whitened on Wednesday. My favorite part today was the end where they were able to show me a 3D model on the screen of my teeth, smile, etc. from all angles! Dr. Grossman was very thorough with explaining everything I'd need to know about Invisalign, and why I'd be the ideal candidate. He want pushy about it which I really appreciated but definitely went through his concerns about for me how it's about changing it for medical reasons vs just cosmetic. This guy is a LIAR! I went in to have a cleaning and have a tooth pulled and needed other work which I never had done because of his dishonesty. I went in to have a wisdom tooth pulled and he said 'I can have that done for you' knowing that I had an hmo dental insurance. It turns out that the person who did the work (which was upstairs in his bldg.) wasn't covered by my insurance. I then had a cleaning done. It turns out that he never submitted any of the work to my insurance. When my wife confronted him about the bill he said that he had told me the person who extracted my tooth wasn't covered by my ins. and that he recommended someone in beverly hills but that I had said that 'that was too far to drive'. I have been going to Dr. Jay's office for probably about 5 years now and have never had any problems. The hygienists are thorough and friendly, office is clean, instruments are up to date, etc. Parking is a bit of a problem, but for a good dentist I have never really thought twice about it. I am lucky to have very few dental issues, so when Dr. Jay told me I had a cavity last year I was a little upset. I had only had one cavity in my life before and receiving the filling (back when I was 18 or so) was not a good experience. Ugh, the Novocaine, the drilling, the numbness lasts well after everything is done. So, I put off filling my cavity for about 6 months. I finally made the appointment for after work one day, thinking I would not want to go back after the procedure. Truthfully, having my cavity filled by Dr. Jay was one thousand times better than the experience ten years ago. He has a laser drill that does not hurt at all. In fact, there is NO Novocaine required. Let me tell you, I was scared when they didn't numb the area, but there is nothing to be scared about! The whole procedure only lasts about 15 minutes....you could do this on your lunch break. The only part about the laser that's a little off-putting is a slight burning smell at the end of the process. But, no Novocaine, no pain, and the super-fast procedure offsets that immediately for me. The filling itself is clean and well done. I've had the filling for about 6 months now and have not had any problems since. Their laser machine is excellent! I am glad that Dr. Jay is invested in having the latest technology to make the dental experience as efficient and painless as possible. Thank you Dr. Jay! read more

Okay, here's the deal. I've thought a lot about this review because reviews were important to me when I was looking for a new dentist. The last dentist I had gone to was like a bad mechanic, a new problem after every visit. And not to mention months of pain afterward. I was afraid to go anywhere else and ended up choosing Dr. Grossman after 6 months of putting it off. I went for a consultation last week and was told I had 6 cavities. But I was shown the six cavities with a mirror and they were real. Today I went to have them filled. He uses a laser to "drill" away the cavity and then fills them. Virtually PAINLESS!!! Not one shot into my gums. This is also very helpful when you're done because you're not numb to see how the bite feels. Oh, and did I mention this was all done in under one hour? Pretty amazing stuff. Many people have added to their review some distaste about him selling Invisalign. I was also recommended to have this but not pressured. I will be doing this once I am assured all the pain from my previous dentist is resolved. People, you need to realize that he also has a business to run. You are ultimately in control of yourself and what you get out of a visit. He's a great dentist, his staff is great and if you go in thinking you're going to be "sold something" then that's how you'll see it. I'd highly recommend Dr. Jay Grossman's office. They are very professional, have lots of new 'tools' to make the experience easy and comfortable, but the highest score definitely go to Dr. Jay and the staff. There is a relaxed and professional atmosphere, that makes me feel that A. I'm in good hands, B. It must be nice working there, cause the stress level is zero. Love that. About a year ago I had a root canal done there, and I haven't tried that before. Of course I was nervous cause I've heard this is the worst dentist experience one can be exposed to. Anyway, it wasn't!!! I can't remember the name of the surgeon who does the procedure at Dr. Jay's (I know he still works there), but it was not a bad experience AT ALL! I was amazed. He was very agreeable, competent, and professional. I went in for a simple cleaning on my dental insurance plan. In my opinion this office uses the cleaning as a sales "loss leader". They identify every possible malady that can exist in your mouth during that cleaning/screening. Creating fear with the results of that screening, the office will attempt to "close" you for a follow-up visit that will cost the big $$$. They will continue to contact you on sales calls if you do not return for treatment. In short, if you are not at all price sensitive, this dental office is for you. Dr. Grossman and his staff are without a doubt the best ever. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. They work with you on scheduling AND they run on time! I had my teeth cleaned there for the first time and my teeth were whiter then they ever were before from having cleaned anywhere else. I also just started doing invisilign and could not believe how much faster the process will take. I thought it would take years to do and if I do my part and actually wear them as required I will be done in 10-12 months - if I knew that sooner I'd have done this years ago! And they were able to help me with a workable payment plan with no interest that gives me 2 years to pay, which was a tremendous help to me financially to allow me to do this now and not have to put off any longer.
