The rooftop setting overlooking the runway is something you don't see every day it's actually pretty unique watching planes take off and land while you're having a drink. I picked this place for my boyfriend's birthday because we love rooftop venues. It's rare to find somewhere in New Jersey with a DJ on a weekday, so I was excited to try it. The atmosphere is definitely beautiful. Unfortunately, the drinks and food didn't live up to it. We started with espresso martinis and were served brown, watery cocktails with espresso beans somehow floating on top--they were terrible. Then we ordered chicken wings with their "crack sauce." The wings were heavily breaded and looked more like fried chicken. We each tried one, but there was no flavor at all. This was my first time trying the Concourse Club for drinks and dinner. My friends and I arrived on a Saturday evening. The food was better than expected. We ordered the chicken sliders and the grilled Caribbean garlic shrimp- very good! The drinks were good too, but as we got later into the night they seem to come watered down and less alcohol in them. We had to ask our waitress on an occasion to double check :( I've heard the music and vibes at this place used to be good, but once we moved the party to the rooftop, we were a bit disappointed of the music and some of the people that were allowed in. Nothing against people having fun and being a bit loud, but we saw a few guys being just overly loud and just weird. I'm sure the gals reading this WOULD understand. I'm a little conflicted about how to rate The Concourse Club. On one hand, the drinks, ambiance, and views were fantastic- but the food, just decent, didn't blow me away. That said, this place definitely has a vibe. The decor transports you into a swanky, retro airport lounge. Think bright orange mid-century modern lamps, cozy rounded booths, fireplaces, and a mix of high tops inside an enclosure and an outdoor space with gorgeous city views (even if you're technically perched above a not-so-pretty highway). As for the food, I tried the General Tso's cauliflower, tuna tartare, and the shrimp with fried plantains. The cauliflower was the best of the bunch- sweet, sticky, and not mushy at all. I would've loved more heat, but the texture and flavor were spot on. The tuna tartare was just okay; the wonton chip it came with was thicker than I prefer and lacked that perfect crisp contrast I usually love with tartare. The shrimp were juicy and fresh, but the plantains were super dry and underwhelming. Overall, food value was on the lower side. Drinks, though? Excellent. They were unfortunately out of ingredients for the Tropic Thunder (hilarious name), but the In Full Bloom cocktail I had was well-balanced and strong--with a really nice touch of fresh lychee on top. Service was also solid. One weird thing: it showed no reservations available online, but when we arrived on a Thursday evening, the place was pretty empty. They could really improve their visibility and open up the reservation system- because this is a spot people would go to for the atmosphere and cocktails alone. Lobster bao buns were my favorite. The fish tacos were dry and needed more filling and a sauce. General tso cauliflower was tasty but the breading was falling apart. Chicken tortilla soup dumpling were another favorite but the soup is more like a pure at the bottom of 4 small dumplings. The grilled chicken Caesar sliders were decent, nice warm bun was a plus. We ended the night sharing the espresso brownie which was ok. A lot smaller than expected for almost $20. Honestly, it's a bit expensive for food that could be a bit better for the prices they charge as well as the nonexistent service. I was slightly surprised to see the many negative reviews for this restaurant lounge, but can justify what other people have said. I came on a Thursday night and it was not busy at all and no reservations were needed this probably contributed to my positive experience because the server was very attentive up until we got the check. This is located in the Element Hotel on the rooftop. They have a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays that comes on at 9pm until close at 1am. I was pleasantly surprised that the DJ was there on Thursday. Weekday here is a chill vibe, not too loud so you can still enjoy conversation with friends. Food is small plate tapas, but the prices are way too high for what you get. For example, the calamari was good but I feel like I was scammed. It was disappointing that there were only a few pieces of calamari on top, but the bowl is almost entirely pieces of fried onions, peppers, and tomatoes... what a joke! So lesson learned, don't order this. Best thing on the menu is the salmon poke, basically salmon sushi on crispy rice. All in all, you're paying for the experience and ambiance. The first impression of this place was a lasting one. A bit of a drive if your coming from the city but well worth it. Accessible parking lot. Once you make it inside you take the elevator up to where the magic begins. The setting immediately makes you feel like your away on vacation. The host sat us immediately. The waiter took no less than 5 mins. The Dj was great i couldn't stop dancing in my seat. I ordered the garden omelette and fruity pebble French toast. I was very pleased with the presentation as well as how delicious it was. My wife even mentioned that the French toast was so good it could go with out syrup. I found this place while looking for a rooftop spot in northern NJ. Let me tell you, this place is SEXY! It is beautifully designed. It's got great elevated views. All of the staff looked sharp and they were all very nice to my party. I sampled some of their small plates (e.g. Wings, Alfredo Bites, Fries, Sliders etc.). All of them hot out of the kitchen, flavorful and well presented. No complaints there. Their bar service is also top tier! The mixology was very consistent. Each cocktail tasted great and the color, taste, volume was virtually the same with each glass ordered. I recall ordering the "Gap In The Clouds" (Cucumber Vodka, Blackberry, Creme de Violette and lemon sparkling Rose), multiple times and it was great each time. At this point, if everything was so great, why did I pull a star? Reason: I came with a group of 14 people. Unfortunately, I didn't make a reservation because I didn't know we would all be down to go until the night in question. I did call ahead to let them know we were coming because I didn't want them to be overwhelmed by a sudden influx of people. When we arrived the place was basically empty. We asked to be seated at one of the large table areas but they wanted a large table charge of something like $1K+. We declined and chose to congregate at the bar instead. Admittedly, business did increase but several tables remained open. I would bet that as a group we still spent around $1K regardless, in general I don't think people like being forced into a minimum. That's my only gripe with the place because it wasn't yet "Nightlife" hours. Bottom line: This place is pulchritudinous! It's a sexy date spot. Concourse Club provided an outstanding meal, ambiance and service. To start, once you meter you are greeted by a hostess and an amazing view on Manhattan. The dining room is long with the bar stretching nearly the length of the view of Manhattan. We were seated out in the enclosed patio in a booth type seat with a large table and a fireplace near by. Dymen, our server was outstanding and attentive to every detail. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on. We started with calamari and then I had the tomahawk and Caesar and my wife had a shrimp and plantain dish. The food and drinks were worth every penny. The NYer in me was super skeptical when my cousins dragged me out to a rooftop bar, in Jersey, off the side of the highway. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The aesthetic of this place was so nice, beautiful booths, huge windows and a pretty nice view of the skyline in the distance. It was pretty empty when we got there so drinks came out so fast. I stayed drinking the Clear Port all night and I woke up basically hangover free. I had some of the arepas and the IPA sliders and both were great, though the burger meat was slightly over cooked. Went to the concourse club yesterday for Sunday brunch, and although their Friday nights and Saturday nights are typically a vibe, their Sundays are usually much slower, which is fine. I ordered a Caesar salad, which came out with the stalest croutons I've ever had in my life! They tasted like the croutons were made a week ago with expired bread and put in the fridge. They were stale and definitely made the salad which was already overpriced not worth the price tag. So when I brought this up to the waitress and told her I wanted fresh croutons because the ones that I had were stale, she went in the back and came out two seconds later with more stale croutons, very disappointing. When I told her that the croutons were just as bad as the ones in the salad, she laughed and offered absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. The drinks I had were OK, even though they had to be made twice because the bartender missed an ingredient the first time and didn't add enough of an ingredient the second time. The chicken sliders were tasty so that was the saving grace but again if you order a Caesar salad, which basically only has a couple of ingredients to begin with and the croutons are gross it really throws off your experience. At the very least the waitress could've offered to replace it with something else or offered something additional to rectify the situation. But nothing. She never even bothered to check on us to see if we were enjoying our meal. I gave a good tip at the end because I never like to mess with peoples livelihood, but if the concourse club wants to offer an elevated experience like they claim, they really need to step up their customer service. read more

I was a bit put off having to explain to the bouncer/doorman in the seperate club lobby that I was a hotel guest, looking to get a drink and some food. I mean I'm well over 21, decently dressed and couldn't figure out a reason for the scrutiny. I thought the outdoor igloos looked kind of cool and being that they were all empty, I decided to give one a try. Oh no, I was told they were reserved for whatever. I stopped listening after I was declined admission. Took a seat at the bar, ordered a very average drink and some mediocre food. Can't really call the service friendly, more like businesslike. After being served, I was basically ignored for the rest of the evening. Wasn't asked if I wanted another drink; I did or whether I wanted more food; I didn't. I would say if you're staying at the hotel, you could do a lot worse trying to find drink/food in the area so I'd recommend paying them a visit. If you're not, I'd look elsewhere. read more

My lamb chops looked good but were very undercooked and cold. Requested medium rare, they came out barely cooked. I was never asked how the food was, or if I wanted it warmed up.
