A gem in south Bergen County! Spacious bar area, nice dining room, great and friendly service, noise-level decent, terrific menu - only thing we didn't try tonight was dessert. Great cocktails - I had the "goodfella" - mellow old fashioned. Would have loved that with a cigar! The ladies had cosmos and they were pleased. The menu is limited but a diverse set of selections. No specials - not sure if they offer specials on the weekends. We'll find out on our next visit. For apps: I enjoyed my tortilla soup - more like a chili consistency than soup - and it was delicious! We shared wings as well. They were crispy and meaty and they'll default to mixing in a choice of sauces or they'll bring the sauces on the side for you. Nice touch! For entrees: Can't go wrong with the burger or the chicken sandwich. Add truffle fries for $1 up charge - worth it! Coming back to try the blackened cod sandwich or fish n chips with salt and vinegar fries. (They were just out of cod when we arrived at around 8:00pm - next time!). My wife had the chicken parm - huge portion, decent marinara (rare that my wife orders red sauce outside of a bonafide Italian restaurant) with a side of lasagna-looking pasta - very good! We came here on a Saturday for lunch around noon. Found street parking right in front of the restaurant. We were one of the first parties to walk in, the host took us to our table right away. I was mezmerized by the gorgeous interior, art and decor of the place. They have a huge full service bar as well. The menu had few choices in each of the sections of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, salad and entrees. I ordered the bulgogi tacos from the appetizers section, that came with 2 tacos filled with slices of flavorful bulgogi steak, topped with some pickled carrots and cabbage. For entree I got the NY strip melt sandwich. Again the sandwich was filled with delicious steak pieces, caramelized onions, cheese and aioli. The bread they used was really fluffy and thick, but I was glad it was the soft brioche kind. The seared salmon was cooked perfectly with beautiful char all around. Loved the virgin pomelo drink so much, I got two of them. The service was good overall. Our server was friendly and did a good job attending multiple tables simultaneously, including ours. I usually get the Ridge burger which is ok. Nothing special, but edible. Sometimes the beef can be a bit rarer than I prefer. Decided to try the fish and chips today and the fish were really bad. I guess technically edible. Not going to kill me, but not appetizing at all. To add insult to injury, they don't serve it with tartar sauce. How do you serve fish and chips without tartar sauce? I think they have potential, but really need to try harder. Especially with consistency. I don't hate them, but I definitely don't love them. read more

The menu has good selection of steak, chicken, fish, sandwiches and kids meal. The salmon is flavorful and cooked perfectly. Moist on the meat and crispy at the skin. Asparagus was good. Farrotto gave a more firm texture, not my favorite but it's ok. Bulgogi taco is not bad. Good portion. I don't taste much bulgogi or Korean flavor but it's a good taco. Kids meal burger is not bad. Another visit to The Ridge House and another 5 star meal. Even before arriving, the host staff was beyond helpful with the phone reservation during the very busy weekend. We were accommodated in their high-top table section and that was perfect. I really enjoy the charm, decor, and ambiance of The Ridge House. The colors throughout create a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. Our Server, Skylar, did an exceptional job with her service. I also appreciated management coming to our table, and every table, asking if customers were enjoying their meal. I started with what I ordered during my first visit, TRH (The Ridge House) Margarita, and it was VERY GOOD. The hint of cucumber made this drink enjoyable and refreshing, as well. The other drink was The Flower Child Mocktail (mint and blueberry tea, lemon juice, spicy hibiscus syrup). This drink was served in a tall glass and every ingredient blended nicely. The entrees were: Chicken Parmesan (breaded chicken breast, roasted garlic tomato sauce, mozzarella, burrata, parmesan, basil). This was one of the best Chicken Parms I've ever tasted. The chicken was tender and the sauce and cheese covered the entire entree. Highly recommended. The other entree was something that I've never tried...Elote Pizza (Monterrey jack cheese, corn, poblano peppers, roasted red peppers, chicken, totija cheese, lime creme, cilantro & adobo vinaigrette). This was a very unique pizza which was crunchy, creamy, the corn flavor elevated the enjoyment, and it's also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If the entrees weren't enough, TRH outdid themselves with dessert. We ordered the Cookie Skillet (chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream). Located in Wallington, The Ridge House was previously operating under a different name before being reintroduced in 2025 under new management. Let me set the stage. You walk into a spacious bar that opens into a beautifully designed dining room with a mix of square tables and round setups for larger groups. There's exposed brick and a striking photo of New York on the wall. It gives off a very NYC-style dining vibe, which feels unexpectedly elevated for the area. The menu leans New American with more sophisticated takes on comfort food. There are also plenty of vegetarian-friendly options, including crispy cauliflower, a veggie burger, and a meatless bolognese. Prices are very reasonable, which is a huge plus. We made a dinner reservation on a Saturday and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I asked her to choose between the lemon butter chicken and the fish and chips, and she (correctly) steered me toward the fish and chips. She warned me it was a large portion, which I brushed off, but she was not kidding. The plate was massive! I needed two to-go containers, and I'm not usually one to leave food behind. The battered cod was excellent. Instead of one large slab, it came in crispy pieces that were perfectly fried. Not too heavy, not oily. The fries were just as memorable, easily the best salt and vinegar fries I've had. The dish came with house-made remoulade (similar to tartar sauce) and ketchup. The remoulade was creamy and flavorful, though slightly more citrus-forward than expected. My friend ordered the classic cheeseburger, which was perfectly cooked medium and served with fries. Simple, well-executed, and satisfying. The only downside was the wait time...Despite arriving early before the dinner rush, we waited over 40 minutes for our entrées. When I mentioned it, our server checked in, and the manager, Peter, stepped in. He was extremely receptive and took it upon himself to make things right. He personally followed up on our order and went above and beyond to improve the rest of the experience. He brought out a few additional items for us to try, including a smaller portion of the chicken kale salad (we had it without chicken). The Dijon peanut dressing was outstanding, with a great sweet and savory balance from the apples and parmesan. For dessert, we had their Nutella croissant bread pudding (as incredible as it sounds and genuinely unique) and a warm skillet cookie. Both were excellent and a perfect way to end the meal. All in all, this is not a one-and-done kind of place. It's the type of restaurant you come back to and even make the trip from NYC for. Pretty good first experience. We were taken on time for 7pm reservation for 4 people on Saturday night. Hostesses were welcoming and the bar and dining room were both very busy. The inside is more upscale than its previous restaurant. Cocktails were good, we tried the Vespar and old fashioned. Our server was very pleasant and checked on us through out the meal. The manager also came around checking on tables. App- beef taco/bun and kale salad were both very good. The only critique we had was the dressing on the kale salad had a tad too much garlic but still very tasty. Dinner- Hawaiian steak that came with a baked potato was delicious and very big. Took half home. The asparagus was a little overcooked. The butter chicken was good and the fish and chips were good as well. The fries that come with the fish and chips were crispy but VERY salt with a splash of vinegar. They could probably ease up on the salt a little and they would I be perfection. Overall we had a really nice dinner and were not rushed. When we left at 9:45 the bar area was still pretty busy. We will return to try other menu items. read more

The burgers were good but the fries were cold. The mgr acted on it immediately and brought a bowl of the barley soup as we waited. Both soups were good and the fries came out perfect. We had such a great experience at The Ridge House! The food was outstanding from start to finish. We ordered the chili (absolutely delicious and perfectly mild--not spicy, which I really appreciated), the chicken tortilla soup, kale salad, and a burger with fries. The burger was phenomenal--so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and still decorated for Christmas, which we loved. The Christmas trees added such a cozy, festive touch. They were exceptionally busy when we visited, so the food did take a bit longer to come out, but the manager personally served our meals and was incredibly apologetic, which truly went a long way. We stopped by The Ridge House for their grand opening and it's already clear this place is going to be a local favorite. The newly redesigned space feels warm and polished at the same time with a lively bar, an inviting main dining room, and a back patio that looks perfect for warmer evenings. Alan and Nairelys Lopez, the team behind Rumba Cubana and Olivo, along with Operating Partner Peter Metaxas, bring a serious hospitality pedigree here, and it shows. Considering the place was packed, service was welcoming and organized from the moment we walked in. Chef Johnathan Betancur leads the kitchen with a résumé that includes Michelin-starred mentors and kitchens across Europe, South America, and the U.S. That influence is obvious in how much care goes into even the "classic" American dishes. The menu covers American favorites: steaks, burgers, ribs, sandwiches, entrée salads... along with thoughtful vegan and gluten-free options. The bar feels like a destination in itself with craft cocktails, local beer, and a curated wine list. At the grand opening they offered complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks which set a great tone. We didn't realize valet parking was available, but street parking turned out to be surprisingly easy with plenty of free street parking just a short block away. Later we stayed for dinner and really got to experience the menu. We started with fried mozzarella and fried calamari and shared a bottle of Chappellet Mountain Cuvée from Napa Valley. For mains we tried the prosciutto pizza, honey glazed pork porterhouse, and Hawaiian marinated steak. Everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared, with portions that felt generous without being heavy. Overall, The Ridge House strikes a balance between neighborhood comfort and elevated dining. I had food delivered for a flight and was impressed by everything! Menu is inviting, the service on the phone so accommodating..... I used Uber Eats but called restaurant with some questions. Young lady that answered was super sweet but put me on hold because she was unsure of answer. I spoke with Peter who was such a genuinely cool, appreciative man. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, salmon entree with farro and asparagus, margarita pizza and 'hot' pepperoni pizza, tortilla soup, sliders, Caesar salad and crispy cauliflower. A wide range of things and each one was honestly perfect. The salmon was a very good portion and was devoured. He said he would totally eat again. The sliders were perfect with delicious little soft round buns.... I think brioche! Whatever they were perfect! Pizzas were both awesome. Cooked to perfection. The tortilla soup both parties took home, but smelled great! A really nice gastro-pub type place. Lovely space and a beautiful bar. Apps were fried enoki mushrooms and garlic Parmesan wings. Both delicious. As a mid course we shared a kale salad with peanut dressing that was out of this world. For entrees we had the filet mignon, classic cheeseburger, and Hawaiian steak. The kids loved the filet and it was indeed a nice cut. My wife thought the burger was very good but the winner was the Hawaiian steak. They used picanha, probably my favorite cut, and it was really delicious and cooked to perfection. It has a strong soy sauce flavor so if you like that taste, definitely try it. Only area for growth (this a new a place, so give it time) is that our waitress was pretty green. Very nice, but not a pro. Pete the manager, however, is a consummate service professional and I have zero doubt that in a few months this place will be a Swiss watch. Nearly everything in the area was closing at 9:00, and just as we thought we'd missed our chance for a good meal, we found The Ridge House--open until 11:00 PM and absolutely meant to be. From the moment we walked in, we knew we'd found something special. We started with a bottle of Goldschmidt Yardstick Cabernet, a beautifully rich wine with soft tannins. Peter, the manager/partner, stopped by to ask how we liked it, and that sparked a genuinely enjoyable conversation about how he personally and thoughtfully curated the wine list. His passion really shows. For starters, I had the chicken tortilla soup and my girlfriend ordered the beef barley. Both were incredibly flavorful--comforting, homemade, and surprisingly memorable for late-night soups. For my entrée, I went with the Ridge Burger, a craft burger with amazingly flavorful meat cooked to perfection. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. We ended the night with after-dinner drinks, and my Old Fashioned--with a blend of bourbon and rye and chocolate bitters--was absolutely out of this world. The hospitality throughout our meal was top-notch. Peter, the wait staff, and the bartender were all warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They turned what could have been a simple late-night stop into a truly memorable dining experience.
