Me and my wife were craving Mexican food so after a mere minutes thought we both decided on here. I can just say with confidence, we didn't not make a mistake choosing to get lunch here. We got our orders to go but the staff was super friendly and made sure we had lots of salsa, tortillas and onions which was greatly appreciated. My wife got the #19 quesadilla meal and she said it was absolutely delicious, I got the chimichanga and it was so good it never even stood a chance. This is the new location on north alpine basically in the homedepot parking lot. I liked it. Nothing special, no frills, just decent Mexican food at a decent price. Our server was nice, fairly quick and spoke both English and Spanish which is always a plus. The downside to this place is they don't serve alcohol. I know for most it's not a big deal But if I'm having Mexican food, I want a margarita or some tequila to sip. Other than that not bad. One of my co-workers suggested to try here based on his experiences at other Tacos el Cuñado locations, so a band of us ordered takeout from this new mexican restaurant on Alpine Avenue - just at the corner of 3 mile (where the old Pizza Hut used to be). As expected, the place is clean, shiny and new, since they have not been open even a week at this point, and while I'm pretty much cautious about new mexican food - I went with my regular "can't screw up tacos and quesadillas" choices - and was sorely disappointed. The quesadilla tasted like someone had brushed it gently with a flavor, but it wasn't the chicken nor the cheese that made me think there was something to taste there. But the taco was severely disappointing, and the chicken (hey, I like chicken!) was flavorless as well. I was not the only ones disappointed here - my other two co-workers both rated this a "disappointment" and a "5 out of 10". We stopped here 30 min ago (9/6/20 at 12:50pm). Never ate here, service was so horrible! After waiting 30 min for someone to take our order we left. There was a table of 8 that walked in after us and were receiving their food when we decided it was time to leave. The only person interested in us, was the bus boy.
