We got Condado Tacos to go on April 10th, during a freak rainstorm. We almost died for their tacos with the roads flooding, and let me just say we would gladly risk our lives again to go get Condado Tacos Togo. We tried a few different tacos with their Bud Box option. $10 for a box that includes two tacos of your choice, side of chips, and a dip of your choosing. We decided to pay the extra $1 each for the Pico Guac and it was made fresh and very flavorful. We both got the Bad Habit and Sweet Lucy, both were incredibly savory and just the right amount of spice after you get hit with the sweetness. If you decide to look on their full menu, the Bud Box provides you the opportunity to practically rob them for what you're getting. Basically you're going to get free chips and dip, with two stuffed tacos, ingredients to the brim. $10 to feel stuffed whether it be lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong. I decided to also get the House Margarita To-Go and it tasted the exact same as the one I had dining in so it shows at least they're taking quality serious for both aspects of dining options. We placed the order when the restaurant was obviously incredibly busy and people were waiting for their tables in the pouring rain, and we still got our food in their quoted time of 11 minutes which at first we didn't believe. I mean come on, if we're willing to drive in a flash rainstorm and people were willing to wait in the rain for these tacos, you know they got something good. Drinks 10/10 Tacos 10/10 Dip 8/10 (could use more salt/seasoning) Chips 9/10 (some won't have salt but that happens with basically any chips you'll eat but at least you won't get random chips with a block of salt, looking at you chipotle) To summarize, I didn't care for tacos ever. Never craved them or wanted to eat them. After going to Condado tacos I find myself craving tacos almost every other day, find myself risking my life for their tacos, find myself dreaming of tacos, and find myself coming back here time and time again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The ONLY problem we had was we ordered an extra dip and chips with our Togo and they did not give the bag of chips that should've came with it. This spot was awesome! Very cool vibe. Couldn't do the waitlist until we were physically in person but for a table of 6, there was only a 30 min wait. The drinks were great and would highly recommend the margarita flight! You get to choose 3 flavors for a tasting and they were pretty good. I'd recommend the blood orange or blackberry! Condado Tacos has a funky but cool atmosphere inside with a beautiful patio! Everyone was friendly from the host to the servers, and we were able to do call ahead seating to get right in (which the host said they were no longer offering... such a bummer!). I ordered the chicken taco called Sweet Lucy and made my own pulled pork taco that used to be on the menu called Bubba Kush. I would highly recommend both for a good variety when ordering. I could only finish 1.5 tacos because they were filled to the top with all sorts of ingredients with a double decker taco (which I think was my fav part!!). They also have queso flights with unlimited nachos, which I would highly recommend getting 1-3 different options to enjoy prior to tacos, since it did take a bit of time to get the tacos after ordering. The two stars were earned because this restaurant was one of the only ones open on an 8 pm Sunday night. I could see this being a trendy spot for the bar crowd, but a few things to note: Tacos too similar to Taco Bell to make it worth it (granted, Taco Bell does not have a bar) Very limited seating options - metal bistro stools or metal chairs that upon looking around, I was not the only patron who couldn't sit all the way back in the chair. Felt good to stand when walking out - relief! Let's look into the chair situation a bit more and why this restaurant's seating is not accessible to a wide variety of people with different bodies and needs. See images. They also has Miss Universe on the tv. I didn't know this was even still a thing. Kinda gross. All and all, steer clear if you're pregnant and like accommodating seating while you eat. This is a great example of why restaurants shouldn't get the cheapest seating. I've seen places like this come and go with frequency, it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. Getting some inclusive design consults wouldn't hurt to improve conditions for patrons of all kinds. Genuinely not trying to leave a bad review, but a slight warning to people whose bodies might not fit the tight squeeze. Also - The trash cans in the bathrooms are too tall to be placed under the paper towel dispenser. To pull out towel, you need to pull it into the trash as the two nearly overlap with each other. Okay, so Condado to steal this quote from my friend is like a "Boujee Taco Bell"...Obviously higher quality. Kind of a trendy/hipster vibe in there... not your Luna or Donkey. Between $3-5/Taco... Love the decor of this restaurant! The graffiti lined the walls with vivid bright colors along with cool pendant lighting at the bar. There is also a super cute outdoor patio in the back. Tacos was great! I got one of the steak tacos which they indicated was 'spicy' but it was mild to my taste buds. We ordered the Elote, expecting it to be corn on the cob but it was a queso, disappointing. Service: the food came out quite fast. The only complaint I had was there was a computer glitch that the waitress wasn't able to figure out even when I showed her the bill - they charged an extra $10. She had to get it fixed which took 10 minutes. I really want to give this place a better rating but the description on the elote and the waitress not explaining it wasn't corn on the cob and the mishap with the bill...I just couldn't give them more. BEWARE! I found a PRESCRIPTION PILL in my Skywalker Nachos! Chlorthalidone to be exact! Sunday 4/30 afternoon we stopped in and had a spicy Marg. She had the Skywalker nachos with chicken and I ordered the Skywalker too but with brisket. We shared the elote appetizer. Food and drinks were delicious! We both didn't get 1/2 way through our nachos so we got 3 boxes for our leftovers. Late Monday 5/1 I was excited to dive into my leftovers. Tossed the nachos in the oven so the chips got crispy. About my 3rd bite in I crunched down on something that almost broke my tooth! It didn't break up so I spit it out. Surprise suprise it was a yellow prescription pill! Tues I called the location around 3:45p and Madison pleasantly answered the phone and I requested to speak to a manager. She said no problem let me grab one. Jaren the front of house manager got on and I told me story. He said hold on let me grab my manager. Dennis got on the line and of course was surprised to hear what happened. He said he would get me a gift card and he would look into it that night. Took my info and we left it at that. 24hrs later I hadn't heard anything yet so 4pm I called and asked for Dennis and he wasn't available so Tara answered. I asked if she knew what was going on and she said this was the 1st she was hearing about this and gave me Dennis's email so I could contact him along with sending him pictures. He sent me an email at 9pm with a $50 gift card. $50 for having a prescription pill in my mouth. Do you think $50 is fair? UPDATE-Human Resources opened up an incident report. Came back after the weekend and I got an email from HR saying case is closed. SHAME ON CONDADO! Our bill was over $70. Didn't even pay for our bill! How much do you get for a hair in your food? $10? We finally got a chance to try this place out. It is not an authentic Mexican taco place but I'm not really sure it's trying to be so maybe that's ok. It sort of falls into the same category as places like Herb & Fire which are restaurants that follow the Subway model of making food. Like Subway, there are some pre-made tacos that already have the ingredients picked out for you. Otherwise you can go through a selection process of picking your shell, proteins, etc., etc. I had three tacos. I built my own tacos and my wife had packed bowl (basically a taco salad). I picked three different meats (brisket, steak and pork) and different veggies for each one. All were soft shell. The tacos were fine. The food quality was pretty decent but not as good as authentic tacos (in my opinion anyway). My wife was happy with her bowl and was really impressed by the pumpkin seeds it included. She was not so happy about the spork they gave her to eat it with. The tines are way too small to actually pick anything up with and the spoon part is completely useless. She was really frustrated with it and I was getting frustrated just watching her try to eat. They don't have regular forks, a plastic spork is all they have. We also had chips and guac pico which is pretty good and we ordered dirty sauce which is really flavorful and pretty spicy. The selection of ingredients and the different tequilas and the whole bar area is decent (although a little lacking in some of the top-shelf non tequila spirits). The service was fast, efficient and polite. The bottom line: This place is good for "build your own" tacos but don't expect to build your own authentic tacos. It has a great variety of ingredients of pretty good quality. You might struggle with one of their bowls because their only available utensil is the most useless species of spork we've ever seen. My friend had some modifications on her tacos due to allergies and they had a hard time making this happen. (Sub corn shell for flour and no cheese). We were disappointed that they didn't have an N/A beer selection, most places have really been stepping up in this area but these guys only have a few mocktails and then pop for an N/A selection. I love this place. The queso chorizo is about the most delicious thing ever...all cinnamony and tasty af. They have a broad selection of many kinds of tacos, they update the menu periodically, everything is good and fresh. They've really worked out the flavors and combinations for their tacos. It seems like some places are like "we've heard that some people put [this] on their tacos....so here's a taco." It seems like they've had fun trying to optimize the taco combinations. I've been here twice in the last month and I've had great food each time! First time, my friend and I split a half order of pineapple guac. We really liked the sweet mild heat mixed with the creamy avocado. I enjoyed my guac while sipping on a fruity pineapple margarita with a cinnamon rim! For tacos, we each ordered three. In hindsight, two would be perfect if you're having any sort of appetizer! I ordered the Korean bbq, Dutch dragon, and el tradicional. I really like the two layer soft+hard shell tacos. The soft shell is like a structural secret to keep the crunchy shell from disintegrating. The Korean bbq was my absolute favorite! Spicy gochujang and pineapple salsa brought a ton of flavor to the pulled pork. El tradicional was a well balanced chorizo taco. The Dutch dragon was my least favorite as I didn't really care for the texture of mushrooms as the main component of the taco. The second time, we were a party of 8 and split the trio of guac. We ran out of chips before we ran out of guac. I ordered the Korean bbq again (because it's so good!) and sweet heat. We were having such a great time I totally forgot photos. I know it's a chain, but this place is so fun. The art is so next level, the vibes are so fun. Every time I eat here I feel better when I leave. I love the freedom to build your tacos to your liking, the sweet Lucy is like a cheesy Gordita crunch that grew up and doesn't fill you with regret (sorry Taco Bell). This was my first time here , on a beautiful Wednesday evening. My friend and I were on our way from Knickerbocker to One Bourbon - via a brief stop at Sovengard's beer garden - and as we walked past Condado figured we would pop in and give it a try. First, it was much larger than I anticipated, with a sizable amount of tables, bar seating, and a spacious outdoor area off the back. I liked the overall vibe of the place and we took seats at the bar. For food the options are, surprise, tacos! But they had a wide variety of them as well as chips and various salsas. I tried the Korean BBQ taco and the Heater (a steak taco with a bit of jalapeño heat) and both were excellent. My friend had the Hearer and several other tacos and enjoyed them all. For drinks they have an impressive assortment of tequilas, a good variety of cocktails, and around 8-10 beers on tap plus some cheaper varieties of canned beers. So a good mix of drinks for a wide range of tastes, I felt. The prices for the food seemed reasonable ($4-5.50 for tacos) and the drinks seem mid-priced compared to other downtown places; not cheap but not overpriced. Parking will be like for all the other Bridge Street eateries: Maybe you get lucky and find a street spot or otherwise park in a lot a few blocks away. I really liked this place and definitely plan to come back soon. read more
