I was very disappointed with the condo we rented. We first rented South Shore 601 in the summer and it was VERY dirty when we checked in. We were told that it is very difficult to get the condos clean in a timely manner because of the rush of summer (dirty stained toilets, hair on all the toilets, food on the living room floor and the refrigerator was disgusting). We had to thoroughly clean the refrigerator and freezer before we could even put our groceries in the refrigerator. They did send two ladies to clean the condo within the hour. We rented the condo again for Thanksgiving since we like the layout of the condo and it worked really well for our family. My parents checked in Sunday and again the condo was very dirty (carpet not vacuumed, refrigerator, kitchen and bathrooms were dirty and carpet in rooms had not been vacuumed). I called the agency on Wednesday and I finally got a call back today after calling twice...yes, I understand that Thanksgiving was Thursday. I finally received a call back from Stewart, VP of CondoLux, he pretty much told me that it was my responsibility to call the Sunday we checked in. I explained to him the situation that my parents checked in Sunday and that I didn't come down until late Tuesday night. He told me that it was my fault for not calling and he never took responsibility for the condo being extremely filthy for the second time. Stewart even saw that our first complaint in July was documented and that we checked in at 3:00 and I called at 3:40. He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say since I did not call within the first 24 hours. I am always willing to give businesses a second chance, but this is the second time that this has happened, I refuse to give them my business.

***NOTICE*** This is a REVIEW of CondoLux and unit 1006 of Malibu Pointe. This is NOT a complaint as ALL complaints have been taken up with the company directly. In order to attempt to get a refund for my issues, I was forced to sign a waiver stating I would NOT make a complaint to any agency in an attempt to resolve the issue as I felt it was resolved with them. This statement is being posted for full disclosure to make this REVIEW as accurate as possible. I rented unit 1006 at Malibu Pointe from August 23rd, 2014 to August 30th, 2014 from CondoLux for a rate that was very reasonable at $969 after all discounts I was eligible for. I booked via the CondoLux website and was very happy with the site. It was easy to use and payments were easy to make. The required a non-refundable $500 deposit upon reservation, which is pretty standard fare for the condo rental world. After that and getting an email receipt with my information, I had until 30 days prior to arrival to pay the balance in any fashion I wanted, which was very lenient. The balance was paid promptly via their website as well. They also did not charge any sort of processing fee for the payments via credit card, which was nice as a lot of other rental establishments pass their processing fees on to the customer, so that was refreshing. I had a bit of concern after paying the final payment well before the 30 days prior to arrival in that I never got any sort of packet or other information confirming or detailing my condo rental aside from the payment confirmations, so I contacted CondoLux. They were very nice and informed me that I would receive the information packet via email 3 days before my check in. I was uneasy about this and thought that I should get some information sooner than that, but also understood why as they have an after-hours key box that you wouldn't want someone knowingly accessing before their estimated arrival. Arrival time came quicker than I thought and we arrived to CondoLux around 3:30pm on August 23rd, 2014 to a packed parking lot and many people coming and going. After a 10 hour drive and 2 screaming children in the SUV, I was ready to relax. This is where the problems started occurring. I went into the CondoLux building, which was directly behind Malibu Pointe, and took the elevator to the 2nd floor. I was the only person in line which was nice and I quickly got my keys and signed my paperwork. They also made an imprint of my credit card for 'incidentals' as they called it and promised it would not be charged without my knowledge, authorization, and approval. This was, again, standard fare for condo rentals so I was OK with that. On a side note, the people that I saw coming out of the office before I went in all had welcome gift bags given to them. When I got my keys and paperwork, I was the only one that didn't receive one. Not sure if that was due to discounts I received or the place I chose to stay. Regardless, I didn't really think much of it. We took the car to the parking garage, which I will note, has a very low height restriction of 6ft8in but we fit through just fine and found ample parking. We were given two parking tags to hang in the mirror so that we weren't towed. The first thing we noticed was that there were no luggage carts to be found. I saw various people with them so I knew the complex had some but it took about 15 minutes to locate one. This was understandable as it was check in time and everyone was doing the same thing. The parking garage was clean and free to debris which was nice. We took the elevator up to floor 10 and got off and found our room to be right beside the elevator, which was a nice location. Once we arrived at the room, we began having issues. The first issue was with the keys we were provided. We were given three sets of keys. Two sets had two keys on the ring and the last had one key. None of the keys appeared to unlock the deadbolt on the door to the condo. They did unlock the outside storage unit room though. We attempted to unlock the deadbolt for about 10 minutes until we realized that the unit wasn't locked at all. We walked in and I immediately began noticing damage to the unit and stopped my family from unloading into the unit and began taking pictures. I found numerous scuff marks, scratches, and gouges in the walls, doors, baseboards and furniture. I also noticed that the dryer in the unit was heavily rusted out in the drum, which was very shocking as this isn't something that just occurs all of a sudden. Rust like that occurs over time, which led me to believe that CondoLux was not or does not [REVIEW TRUNCATED]. In addition, the pools were nice plus you have multiple pools to choose from. In the evening, the 2nd floor patio with fire pit was great to hang out and relax. Check in was a breeze. Staff was super friendly. This hotel is located in a great spot...within walking distance to lots of eateries and direct access to the beach. All of the rooms have ocean views. Initially I thought the bed position was weird but I quickly appreciated waking up to views of the beach and ocean. Everything was clean and well appointed in our king room. My only complaint is that the towels were pretty bad and extremely thin, more so than any other hotel I've visited. We went to the bar on the second floor to people watch. It's a cute spot and has access to outdoor seating with a view and fire pits. Our drinks were just "ok"...I've never had ice in a French 75 and my husband's old fashioned was made with crushed ice and not a ball or large cube which was odd. There is ample parking in the deck across the street. Overall, a nice stay!

Resort amenities are abundant and include direct beach access, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, (small) lazy rivers, a fitness center, an arcade, and a fire pit. We made a relatively late reservation here for five nights when we learned that international guests would be visiting. There would be seven guests (all adults) for two nights, and only four of us for the other three nights. We used extra timeshare points (making it more expensive) in order to get a unit on an upper floor, hoping that the upper floor would give us the best ocean view. Unit. (3/5). Our unit in Tower 2 was spacious (especially when there were only 4 of us), and had everything that we needed and was clean. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked full kitchen with generous pantry space, having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the jacuzzi in the main bedroom (which we under-utilized!). The beds were comfortable, and had high quality linens. However, we were somewhat disappointed with the unit as our ocean view was limited (although you could see the ocean, beach, and one of the pools from our balcony). And, as the resort was built in 2002, and last renovated in 2011, it's now beginning to show its age -- with sofas and chairs that were no longer firm, some chips on furniture, and the musty smell that comes with high humidity. Amenities and Activities. (3.5/4). Tower 2 was convenient, and had many amenities that we utilized. It was home to the Lobby and Registration, had direct beach access, a lazy river, access to indoor and outdoor pools, game room/arcade, activities center, gift shop, and fire pit. As with our room, some of the amenities need upgrades. For instance, the hot tub was lukewarm at best, and the markings on the shuffleboard had eroded off. The resort also had a full calendar of "Resort Experiences", which included arts and crafts, shows, fitness classes, and more. HOWEVER, we were three days in before we even learned that there were resort activities, as we weren't given a schedule at check-in. For instance, we would've gone to the Sunday evening "Karaoke Welcome Party" at the fire pit, but we weren't aware. We DID enjoy the "Hula Fire Show" a few nights later. A few other random points. (1) Parking could be challenging if it's important to you to have parking close to your unit. If not, there's plentiful parking (and a free shuttle, which we didn't utilize) behind Tower 4. We were able to get parking in Tower 2 most evenings, except one evening when we got back late. (2) we were surprised that the concierge did have discount tickets to the shows in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to attend. (3) we would stay here again, but probably wouldn't pay extra again for a higher floor.

Since it was definitely post-season, we appreciated having fewer people around, making for a more relaxing stay. The weather was nice, although the water was a bit cold, but the view from the ocean-view villas was spectacular and truly beautiful. One thing I really liked was the on-site kitchen! It's a huge money-saver, especially for families. Even making one meal a day at home helps offset travel costs, and it was convenient to have that option. The hot tubs were a lifesaver since it was so cold outside, and they offered fun classes like s'mores for kids and aqua exercise classes, which added some extra entertainment. The gym was well-equipped, and the service overall was great. However, on our last day, the housekeeper knocked and entered immediately without giving us a moment to respond, that felt a bit unprofessional. Despite that, I still found the place and the area on that side of Myrtle Beach to be wonderful. If you're planning a trip, I'd definitely recommend visiting off-season for the best prices and a more peaceful experience!

It also included all of the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and utensils you could use, which was great for us since we cooked multiple meals during our stay. An unexpected but wonderful surprise was the paperback novels in the drawer, which I enjoyed reading on the 2 beautiful balconies. There was seating and sleeping for up to 10 people and the space felt light and airy with colorful seaside decor. The beds were comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was almost a luxury. The pools, hot tubs, and lazy rivers were all great and the location couldn't be beat - only a mile away from shopping and less than 5 miles away from any type of cuisine you could imagine to eat when dining out. Now the not so good - the breakfast buffet does not have very many options and is grossly overpriced for what it offers. Yes, there is an omelet / waffle station, but it was very difficult to get the attention of the person doing the cooking and he seemed irritated when asked to actually make something. The maintenance person called us to tell us that the master shower had an issue with a broken handheld shower hose, which he would fix while we were here, but we didn't see him after that during our 5 day stay because the part had to be ordered and it was a holiday weekend. The kitchen is well stocked with everything except cleaning supplies and there is no housekeeping, so we had to buy our own dishwashing liquid to do dishes, paper towels, and scrubbies to be able to hand wash dishes. They only provided a single kitchen trash bag and a single dishwasher pod as well as one kitchen washrage and one kitchen towel. When we called down to the front desk to have someone bring us more, it took 2 phone calls before someone came and dropped them off. All in all, the stay was relaxing and wonderful with only minor inconveniences. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay on the beach with all of the comforts of home. The owners of this condo are to be commended on how well they decorated and stocked it.
