I stayed at the Condotti Boutique Hotel during my recent trip to Rome. I chose this hotel due to the close proximity to some Roman tourist stops, shops and restaurants.
This hotel is surrounded by restaurants and you definitely have your choice of pasta eateries as well as gelato shops. The hotel also offers breakfast for an extra fee.
As far as tourist stops; the Spanish Steps and Piazza de Spagna is only a 3 minute or less walk. The Trevi Fountain is about a 10 minute walk.
The are also plenty of shops. Most of the shops are luxury brands like Chanel and Furla. There is also some small boutique shops selling local goods.
The hotel itself has different buildings and we actually stayed in a building that was about half a block away. The building was unmarked which was a bit different and we had a special key to get in. It also has a very steep stairwell at the entrance and the steep stairwell was the only way to get to the rooms. There were no elevators. This was a bit concerning as it was not the easiest steps of stairs for some of our family members.
The hotel room itself was fairly large and there was complimentary coffee and snacks. We did however have fair amount of issues with the room. First issue was there was no air conditioning. We were told it's because it doesn't get that hot around this time of year and we were recommended to just open the window. Opening the window was ok but since we're right across a restaurant; it could get quite loud in the evening. We also had issues with the bathroom in the room as the toilet kept running and at one point wouldn't flush. I do have to give the hotel staff credit in that they were quick to come to our room to hotel.
Condotti was great as far as location but as far the hotel itself; there was room for improvement. read more
