Party of 9; made the drive from Port St Joe. Service was mediocre, food was lacking. They were out of oysters; hamburgers lacked in flavor. One ordered the flounder and gave it 6/10, which was the best out of everyone's orders. Four people ordered crab legs which came out very small, hard to crack and get whole pieces of meat. Service was not good, food was cold. :( There was just two of us, and we sat at the bar. We ordered two bowls of seafood chowder, I got a dozen raw oysters for my meal, and my mom got blackened grouper and onion rings. Food took almost an hour to come out, and when it did our grouper and onion rings were super cold. Our server / bartender wasn't really apologetic or anything, which I know it's not her fault, but as someone who worked in restaurants forever, you at least try and be kind / apologetic about it :/ all she asked was if we wanted it remade. We said no since we had already been waiting so long, who knows how long it would've taken. We understand it was a Friday, though. However we saw other folks seated at the bar after we had ordered already, and they got their food, paid their checks, and left before us lol so idk what happened! Should have an option for 0 stars. Only went for ice cream. Downstairs was locked so we went upstairs to see if we could get some ice cream. We were told to wait outside and they would be right down to unlock the door. Took about 10 minutes. That should have been our first clue. Took 35 minutes for 2 cones ( girl behind the counter had to go upstairs to make change} Not very friendly at all. Came close to just ignoring us. Paid way to much for single cones and got home to look at the receipt.... Automatic tip for 3 more dollars. Used to come here all the time.... Won't be back. read more

We stopped in Monday night. Best fried oysters I've had in years. My wife got the burger and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly. Fries were crisp, not soggy. What's not to like? You have to get your food from the counter. Then clean your own table. What is this additional fee? Staff was friendly. Laid back atmosphere, friendly service, and seafood. And an ice cold beer. Checks all the boxes. Started with coconut shrimp, followed by a dozen raw oysters and a fried shrimp basket. All was good. It didn't knock my socks off, but it satisfied my craving for seafood. Service was a bit slow, but you're at the beach. We were very pleasantly surprised with Cone Heads! We didn't know they had remodeled and had a huge dining area. There were 16 of us (8 adults and 8 kids)and we were sat very quickly at a large, long table. We got apps that came pretty quickly. Yummy hush puppies! The food took quite a while to come but I think it was because we were such a large party. Everything was delicious!! Large portions too! Fish was excellent as were the chicken fingers. Wait staff was great too. Lots of beer choices. My strawberry margarita was disappointing though. Really sweet and and no detection of liquor. Other than that it was a positive experience. Prices are kinda high but I guess it's in line with everything else these days. We even took the kids for ice cream downstairs afterwards. I typically don't write bad reviews, but felt that the experience we had could be helpful to another family with allergies. On our last night of vacation, we did an online pickup order to have a sunset picnic at the beach. We ordered 1 burger with a side of fries and unsweetened tea, 2 chicken finger baskets with a side of fries and sweet tea, 1 coconut shrimp appetizer and 1 side of onion rings. My daughter has a dairy allergy so it was nice that there was an option to add an allergy warning flag to place on her order of a chicken finger basket with a side of fries and sweet tea, with the allergy warning flag "!!!DAIRY ALLERGY!!!" We placed the order at 6:30p. The total was almost $200 with a tip and said that the order would be ready at 7:08p. I arrived at 7:00p and didn't receive the food until 8:15p. The allergy warning flag was on the order and the receipt. When our food was being bagged, one of the ladies noticed a chicken finger basket was missing. On the receipt she circled it, and wrote "missing" on the receipt and sent it back to be made. Once the missing chicken was bagged, the owner then gave us our food and explained that the chicken fingers were made with buttermilk and were not dairy free. I asked for a refund and the owner said "well it was already made so no." I asked if we could substitute it for something that was dairy free. She said that the only things would be a simple hamburger or fish. We started to place the hamburger order but it would be another long wait and our food was getting cold so we didn't get a substitute. The whole experience was really frustrating and my daughter had fries for dinner. read more

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I want to warn others about the way we were treated by the manager. After asking for clarification about a $3 charge for "sharing our appetizers" we were berated by the manager. $3 isn't a big deal, it's the principle of charging someone for sharing an appetizer that doesn't make sense to me. After the manager caused a scene, he took the $3 off and said the next time we come he won't remove it as it's their restaurants policy and for us to "enjoy our $3 discount"... I can't help but think if we had a man with us the interaction would have been very different. We own a home on the cape and we won't be back. There are plenty of better restaurants with better food and service. read more

This is my favorite restaurant on Cape San Blas! The menu has a nice variety of offerings. I recommend the Florida Salad. They also have the BEST burgers in Port St Joe area, certainly the best on the Cape. They have a good selection of desserts including a case of ice creams so one can get a cone to go Thus the name, Cone heads. Service is friendly and courteous. The owner is a warm-hearted, delightful lady. Ambiance: Down-home; not fancy. There's one huge table in the middle that seats about 18-20, which is perfect for large families. Lots of other tables for 4 or 6. There are TV's for sports fans and a TV running kids' programming. Decor is kinda higgledy-piggledy, a bit too busy; no cohesive theme. Since our first visit the others haven't been so awesome. I'm not going to mention service due to restriction of COVID and the lack of help everywhere. We get our orders for takeout. We have told them everything we want including condiments etc. But that's as far as the order goes. The last time we ate we had mostly burgers and chicken tenders. Tenders were over cooked, way over cooked. Burgers were all plain. No sauce, no condiments, no toppings, not even a slice of cheese! They were just plain, dry meat and bun. Luckily we had condiments back at our rental or we would have had you go back out just to purchase these items. We love ConeHeads but this was not a good experience this time. I'm removing one star due to this. This shouldn't be a make it or break it but with the lack of toppings and paying for them (bacon) it just wasn't good. We look forward to our next visit. The service was descent. We had a party of six and ordered the seafood platter, crab claws and the grouper basket. All the dishes except the grouper basket showed up after everyone else was almost finished the grouper basket showed up. The seafood platter fish was definitely not grouper and was total different from the grouper basket fish. No one cared for the slaw served. So the meal was not that great . When we got the bill we were charged extra for cocktail sauce because my wife asked for cocktail and tartar sauce for the seafood platter. We were also charged a 3.50 sharing charge and an extra charge for using a credit card. Really 41.00 for a platter and you pay extra for cocktail sauce. Never again. read more

I had a pretty good shrimp P.O. boy for lunch from Cone Heads a few days ago. The fries were definitely the star of my meal, but my po boy had plenty of big fresh shrimp. I did ad hot sauce and tartar along with the tomato and lettuce that came with it. It was a little under seasoned for my taste, so that's why I'm knocking off a star. This is our fourth year coming to the Cape and we always eat at Cone Heads our first night but that will change. Not sure if it's under new management or what happened but the only thing we enjoyed was our waitress. The food was super salty and very overpriced! Appetizer- grilled shrimp( yummy) severed with the Worst remoulade sauce ever Entrees- stuffed grouper with crab meat So salty $32 Grouper sandwich so salty $23 Chicken fingers $17.99 8 alcoholic drinks $178 $191 if paying with credit card... We stopped here for lunch one day while vacationing on the cape and were the only people here except for one guy at the bar. At first we thought they weren't open on Wednesday's but found out they just started opening for lunch on Wednesday's. So FYI, their hours are not currently listed correctly. It's something they are testing so it may not stick. As for the food, everyone was well satisfied. My Grandma and Uncle both said these were the best raw oysters they had had the entire trip (they also tried Indian Pass and Up the Creek). I had a cheese burger (in paradise!), which was pretty good, nothing special. My boyfriend had the jalapeño creme cheese burger. I had eyed that on the menu but wasn't very hungry so went with the quarter pounder instead. He enjoyed it! My mom had a couple drinks as well which I tried. The first was the Arnold Schwarzenegger, which was an Arnold Palmer with vodka. But was weird. Strange smell, strange taste. Not sure what kind of vodka they use but she did say they had told her it was something different. Next she opted for the Red Sangria. This was also just sort of odd. It did not taste like any sangria I've ever had and lacked all the fresh fruit you normally get. I also tried my Grandma's Long Island which was pretty decent. She likes them strong and that it was. 1 star because i cant give 0 stars Absolutely one of the worst experiences in a I've ever had. We arrived around 630 and it was an hour wait, which was fine, because you're gonna wait this time of year anywhere you go. When we get called to be seated they split our party up between 2 tables. The table part of our party sit at would seat 20 people. (13 in our party). The group behind us got the remaining 10 seats at our table which is BS. My sister in law asked the manager to seat us all together and that we were there first. The manager was an ass and didn't care! (My sister in law owns a well established restaurant back home so we know what to expect out of an establishment) My daughter has a shellfish allergy. They acted as if it was a pain in their ass to accommodate her so she didn't eat because I didn't want to take a chance. (She ate after we left) . I ordered blackened grilled shrimp which was edible is all I can say for it. Hushpuppies were horrible. Fries were the only thing good. Took over an hour to get our food. the party of 10 received there food 30 minutes before us and we were sitting and ordering before them. I'm not typically one to leave a review of any sort but this is hands down the WORST establishment I have ever been to. We arrived around 7:00 and given an expected wait time of 40 minutes which was no issue. We had 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Issue 1: Multiple groups came through and were seated immediately which was quite frustrating but we just let it go. Issue 2: Our group waited well over 2 hours for our food including appetizers. And the waitress only came around twice after seating us after taking our order. And multiple people went to the bar and placed large to-go orders that were filled immediately. Issue 3: there was a "miscommunication" with the kitchen on the meal for my kids (which was a chicken basket being split between the two of them). That was finally brought out in a to-go box. After splitting our food that was actually edible between us. Issue 4: the food was so salty (and that's saying a lot because I'm one that puts way to much salt on EVERYTHING) but after waiting as long as we did we chocked it down. Issue 5 and the icing on the cake was when they attempted to charge an 18% service charge for a group of 6. For 4 adults and 2 toddlers who didn't even get their food. There are so many other great places to eat on the cape that have way better service and you won't spend half the night getting subpar service/food for a lot lower cost and I would and will avoid this place like the plague. read more

We had a large party and got sat down within 5 minutes but we ordered food and didn't get served the appetizers we ordered for an hour and a half and the main entrees didn't get served for almost 2 hours after we got sat down. The waitress rarely checked on us, but the food was fine when we finally got served. On a 90 degree day having been sat outdoor on the patio with no shade, it wasn't a very pleasant dining experience overall. 2 stars because the food was decent, but not likely to return. read more

It's been a year since we were her last and things are different. I'm giving it three stars this time and that's generous. Except for the nice young lady that seated us most of the staff ghosted us. I ordered their special drink with three ingredients thinking maybe like a Manhattan. Wrong. It tasted like lemon extract and I ordered it "up" which means shaken or stirred with ice, this was served room temperature. A memorial drink in a bad way. The bartender rarely looked up and seemed to be overwhelmed. The bar itself was so sticky we avoided contact with it. Our salad had some "grit" in it from not being washed enough. The other stuff like the shrimp was just average at best. There is no love in the food prep or customer service here. The three women behind the bar seemed to have a dialogue going on between them that didn't include us customers. An unfriendly experience. We will not be going back. A shame.
