We got a mixed dozen of: Chocolate Glazed, Death by Chocolate, Old Fashioned Cake, Chocolate Glazed Cream filled, Blueberry Cake, Strawberry Glazed, Key Lime filled. Our grandson ate one of the Chocolate Glazed before we got back to our vacation rental. All of the donuts were fresh and delicious. When we arrived the location was busy but the line moved quickly. They had one person just taking donut orders, a barista, and a cashier. They were very efficient and worked like a well oiled machine. Our cashier was very welcoming with a wonderful smile that set my "customer issue" at ease. When she took our drink orders she wrote on the cups each ingredient. Which brought me back to my old Starbucks days. With all our modifications I was worried that there might be a misstep in their execution. Never happened. The barista was a very nice gentleman who was able to carry on a quick conversation while making all the drink orders coming in. Our group got up early to head to Weber's Donuts. We got there, stood in a long line, and after waiting 15 minutes had to leave because they were sold out. So, we drove down the road to Sweet Bunz. This coffee/donut/ice cream shop in the charming downtown of Port St. Joe is absolutely the sweetest! The staff is friendly and patient (some of us may have had a hard time deciding what donut to get!). This is a family-run place, and it was cool to see Dad and daughter working together...there was even a display of handmade bracelets for sale that were made by a younger daughter. Talk about precious...and take my money! The donut/pastry selection was amazing! Favorites for our group were the apple fritter, the fruity pebbles donut, the raspberry filled donut, and the strawberry iced donut. The coffee selections were fun! This was such a fun spot. I really wanted a matcha for my birthday so our group headed to Sweet Bunz the morning of my birthday for coffee. Everyone was so pleased with their order and how sweet the guy taking our orders was! I'm gluten free so I didn't get any treats but everyone else did and raved about their item. This morning on the way to drop the kid off at school we stopped by Sweet Bunz. After all I promised if she was good she could get a donut before school. I didn't need a donut, but I couldn't resist getting a bacon maple donut that was so very delicious. I could have ate many more than one. It may be dangerous that I've found this delicious treat because I'm already planning on taking the kid to school tomorrow. Well here we go. To be as usual as honest and unbiased as possible, I started off my trip to the cape a little sad and disappointed. Our last trip to the cape was 2019 and some friends of ours introduced us to Webbers Donuts. I won't comment on them because that has already been done but I will say Webbers was AWSOME. Yelp has Sweet Bunz listed as # 2 and I would agree at this point but only because I have not tried the others on the list. So that being said SB's is a very quaint ant cozy donut shop. Clean tastefully decorated and stocked with a nice variety of donuts, treats and coffee as well as other things but I went there to get donuts. We have another family staying with us so we purchased an assortment of donuts 2 dozen total. As I was watching the cashier ringing us up and he paused for a bit at $ 28.00 I said to myself, wow that is very reasonable. Much to my chagrin he was far from finished ringing up the donuts. By the time he stopped we had a bill for donuts of over $ 70.00! After passing out for a few minutes, I awoke and figured well I am not going to say anything or refuse to purchase the donuts... After all we were on vacation. So we carried out 2 dozen donuts to our van and headed on our merry way back to our rented Golf Of America rental house. Thick layers of grime just sitting there above people eating -- it's not only unappealing, it's unsanitary. Jeff and Kathy Sheets at Sweet Bunz donut shop in Port St. Joe, Florida are the absolute best. Not only are they extremely nice and amazing people to talk to but they have some amazing donuts and their Banana Pudding is the absolute best. The best part is you can buy it by the pan if you give them enough notice. I bought a pan of it and their cinnamon rolls and needless to say it didn't last long at all. Being from the south I know good Banana Pudding and this is some of the best I have ever had. It's not your traditional banana pudding either as Kathy puts her own spin on it and if you haven't tried it you need to get in there and try some ASAP. I'm down in that area quite often and I am going to make it a point to get by and see them and get more of their food each time I'm there.
