While trying to successfully navigate my career, be a doting wife and mother who's caring/loving/nurturing, I completely lost myself. Although I had everything I wanted, I didn't feel whole -- I felt broken, angry, tired, frustrated, resentful and down right depressed. This is when I hit rock bottom and decided I needed help. It was then that I reached out to a friend who recommended me to Stephanie. I was skeptical at first as I had never worked with a life coach. During my initial consultation with Stephanie, I felt heard, understood, and more importantly I felt comfortable being my authentic self -- without any judgment. After the consultation, I felt a bit more at ease and for the first time, I felt hopeful. After meeting once a week over a few months, I am proud to say that I've learned how to happily live and thrive in my new life -- without giving up things that bring me joy. With Stephanie's help and insight I was able to understand and accept my current situation while gaining a clear vision of where I wanted to be. I highly recommend Stephanie to any new mom or struggling mom. I no longer feel lost, alone and depressed. Rather, I am living the life I always dreamt of without losing myself and the things that bring me joy! Thank you Stephanie, you are the best!

I was fortunate enough to have Marissa and my birth doula in 2021. I was able to attend her pre-natal yoga sessions and motherhood gatherings via Zoom - it was great to connect with other mothers during this time. Our pre-labor one-on-one sessions were gentle and informative. Both my partner and I felt well supported. During my labor is when Marissa really shined. I had a homebirth planned with two midwives. As soon as she arrived at my house she jumped in Doula mode. She made suggestions on more comfortable birthing positions, provided me with words of encouragement and guided my husband on supporting me. I ended up needing to go to the hospital and Marissa came along and supported me through the emergency room and into L&D. She worked well with the L&D staff.  My son ended up being transferred to a NICU at another hospital - and Marissa stayed with me until one of my friends could get there. I cannot express to you how much this meant to me. While in the hospital, the doctors and nurses were focused on delivering my son safely. Marissa advocated for me and made sure I was also well taken care of. After I returned home, Marissa visited us to offer support, guidance, tea and whatever else we needed. Months later, she regularly checks in, offers her support, and coordinates meet-ups with other moms, doula clients or not, in the area. I am so thankful for Marissa.

Marissa quickly became a huge part of my support system - through her prenatal yoga classes, individual sessions, and postnatal circles for moms, I was given the beautiful gift of her presence, grace, and wisdom. I will forever be grateful for all of the ways she showed up for me during an incredibly poignant time. Thank you, Marissa!!!!

There was minimal to no assessment of my injury and I wound up sidestepping/ sliding/ skinning back to the car a few miles away with essentially minimal help/support. When I mentioned that I couldn't bear weight on my injured ankle I was instead given advice to "keep your weight forward and lean into the fall line". I was in a mild to moderate degree of shock by the time I reached my car. No one outreached me afterward. When I reached out to Tahoe Mountain School after the event with some constructive feedback the response that I received was " Sorry, we heard that the issue was due to lack of skier ability". I'll be the first to admit that my skiing ability was indeed severely compromised by a fractured ankle that required surgery but somehow they seemed to miss the point about doing a basic assessment. As a physician and SAR volunteer (unknown to those in the class) I'd grade the response to real life backcountry injury an "F" and the company's response to feedback as tone deaf.

Also taught us how to use our beacons, and the procedure for skiing with a buddy. Excellent course far exceeding my expectations, and I am excited to have this new wonderful hobby.

You…read moreknow how when someone you just met can also feel like you've known them your entire life? This is Andrea all the way. My husband and I were blessed to be guided by her on our pregnancy journey, and it was completely life-changing for the both of us. A doula is not just for the pregnant mama...she is also there to support the husband or birth partner and show them how to best support the mama during birth. Our sessions with Andrea leading up to the birth were transformational for us as a couple as we also learned more about ourselves and each other. This paved an essential foundation for our birth story to unfold upon. Andrea has walked the walk herself, and has done it so gracefully, in a way that I really respect and admire. Beyond the childbirth education courses that she offers, she has a wealth of knowledge and so many amazing tools in her toolbox to help guide you on your sacred journey. She's also very spiritually connected with a worldly and wise perspective, which really helped ground me when I was in my head, being fearful, and needed it the most. For me, as the mama, being pregnant was a very emotional journey where I worked through a lot of fear. I couldn't have done this work without Andrea's support and loving guidance. She really has an amazing way of redirecting fear into excitement which made me feel so much more confident and trusting towards my body and this process. If you are searching for a doula or even considering one, look no further. Andrea is THE Tahoe Doula. Thank you Andrea for supporting us and making our journey so memorable and so beautiful. Because of you, we were able to take on the birth more confidently, educated, prepared, and be legitimately excited about it. Now we have such an amazing beautiful baby girl and we couldn't be happier! We love you like family and appreciate you and all you did for us!

I can honestly say that I could not have achieved that goal without Andrea by my side. Her depth of knowledge, humor, compassion, and presence was priceless. I will never forget how helpful she was in the days that followed birth as well. She made sure our family had everything we needed, including getting me lactation support and finding donor breastmilk. If you are in need of a doula or birth education, it doesn't get any better than Andrea!

They are insanely knowledgeable, calm, reassuring, experienced, loving....I could go on and on! I had an amazing and uncomplicated pregnancy, a powerful birth experience and a happy healthy baby girl and I know I have them to thank for that! Even my husband was thoroughly impressed with their care and he is very hard to impress!! These two wonderful midwives truly offer the best care a woman (and the whole family) could receive and they are worth so much more than what they charge. I could have had my entire birth paid for if I had seen a Dr and delivered at the hospital, but these two are worth every penny. We always felt special and never rushed at our appointments. They always made sure to tell us about all the options and helped us weigh the pros and cons of all the testing and procedures that come along with pregnancy. They always had perfect answers to my questions and their suggestions were always spot on. Everything they ever suggested that I do worked like a charm and you can really see how much they love what they do and how much they love each and every new baby! Please consider these one of a kind ladies to help you along your pregnancy journey!! You will not be disappointed

I was a little nervous at first but they were very reassuring that my body was meant to do this and as long as I had a normal pregnancy there should be no reason I could not delivery my child at home safely. Every visit with them was great and they always made us feel like we were one of their own children. They were always both very positive and uplifting. The day my daughter was born I don't know how I would have made it without my husband and the midwives help. The after care they provided was exceptional and I couldn't have imagined anything better!! I had some troubles with nursing right after my baby was born and it didn't matter what time of day it was; they were ready to come to me or would make time for me to see them no matter what. I would highly recommend One Heart for any woman who is even considering a home birth. To those of you who think we are all granolas and this would never be something for you, think again. It's one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. Yes, of course there may be pain, but it's a pain that will end and you will never feel the high of seeing your baby born and knowing that YOU were the one who delivered him/her at any other point in your life. I once thought people like who I have become were crazy nuts, but actually being informed and choosing a safe drug free birth shows strength and courage to make that decision.
