Our world moves quite fast these days so to find a doctor who is both a wealth of knowledge coupled with the best bedside manner I've ever experienced is a rarity. Well, I was truly fortunate to find that very rare gem in Dr. Stacy Hamlet from Conejo Family Eyecare. I went in due to blurry vision I was experiencing in my right eye. After extensive testing she found that I had a detached retina requiring immediate attention. As you can imagine, worry quickly set in as to what this would entail and Stacy was able to bring me a sense of calm during a sensitive time. She displayed incredible poise, was so patient being totally present in the moment and above all she truly showed how much she genuinely cared which made me feel so much better. Stacy helped get me in with California Retina Consultants and I was in to see them the day after and had surgery within 48 hours of seeing Stacy. To boot, post surgery she has even checked in on my progress and to see how I'm feeling several times. My visit yesterday lasted less than a minute. I showed up for my appointment and four staff members, including the optician, we're all at the front desk and no one was wearing a mask. I said, " You're not wearing masks?" The doctor replied, " Oh, we're all vaccinated and we're around each other all the time anyway, but if you'd like us to put on masks for you, we'd be happy to do so." No. To provide context for those reading in the future, this was one week before Christmas 2021. The NFL had just paused its season, 23 members of the Rams football team had COVID, the Rockettes had cancelled their holiday show, many businesses were going back to work from home and many people were canceling holiday plans - all due to the Omicron variant, which spreads far faster than Delta, which overloaded some hospitals. And the state of California did have a mask mandate in place. I expect more from someone who has doctor as their title. read more

Doctor Hamlet and her team were amazing. They answered all my questions and explained all of the procedures. The facility is super clean and modern and very easy parking. Working as a fire fighter I needed specialty eyewear. I was able to get the exact lens and coatings required in a frame that was durable and fun to wear. They are a Wiley X authorized vendor and had all three frames on hand. That was a huge help since the manufacturer will not send samples during the Covid-19 event. Love this family practice! We have been patients for years and the whole family has been so taken care of by their family. I recently had my kitten scratch my eyeball on a Saturday and I was able to speak to Dr. Hamlet who quickly accessed my issue and prescribed a drop that took care of the problem overnight! Went here staff and doctor are so nice. Everyone made me feel like I was cared for and a member of the family. The doctor wanted to make sure I was comfortable and she explained everything she was doing for me. She even gave me homework to do to ensure the contacts she fitted me with are the best they can be and if not she is willing to fit me with something else and try again. So far the fit has been great. I can see better than I have in years. The lenses are easy to take out and when my eyes are not dry from all this pollen they are very comfortable. Been going here for years! Dr Hamlet is always great and takes her time with any questions we have (Dr Griffith used to practice here as well and he's also great!). The staff can't be more kind and helpful, even in times of "emergency" (like supplying us with extra contact lenses because we have ordered the refill a bit too late, and needed a few to last until the order came in). At one point we had to switch dr because of our insurance and that was not a very happy time for us since we had to find someone else. But now that we're back with them, can't be more happier! read more

Mr. and Mrs. Hamlet personally give you their personal cell phone numbers just incase of an emergency! (For instance if you tear or lose your last pair of contacts, you simply give them a call they'll help you out by giving you a pair while your contacts are ordered!) that's just fantastic! prices are great as well! Most bizarre experience of seeing an optometrist in my over 20 years of wearing glasses! Saw Dr Hamlet for my annual optometry check up. Subsequently went and had her prescription filled with my usual optical store I frequent and upon receiving my glasses noticed everything was extremely blurry... hmm odd... but waited a couple of days for my eyes to adjust to the new script etc etc. Finally after a week I decided to call the office and explain that was something was majorly off. A day later I get a call back notifying me that Dr. Hamlet wrote down the WRONG PRESCRIPTION. No apology. No remorse. No follow up. Just go and deal with it yourself. It seemed if anything Dr. Hamlet was annoyed I didn't fill the prescription with her and didn't care to rectify HER MISTAKE. Even the kind office assistant I spoke with seemed completely puzzled by the lack of professionalism on her behalf. Sure mistakes may happen (although this seems like a pretty bad one) but no effort or apology?? Even worse my poor dad that went in to see her has been having horrible eye strain and dizziness after receiving his prescription from Dr. Hamlet. So so so disappointing! read more
