I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! Look at my reviews- I don't say that lightly! Horrible customer service. I don't care how close this place is to my home, I will gladly drive to get better service! I got a new prescription and I realized about 5 months later that the reason I couldn't see my computer at work is because of my new prescription. I thought it was just my eyes getting worse since I was on vacation for the summer (3 months) until my friend gave me her glasses and I could see! I looked at her prescription and she had my OLD prescription!! I was so annoyed that I went that long not being able to see. I called and asked them to simply write me a script with my OLD prescription and explained why. They told me they would have to charge me $40 to simply write me my original prescription?!?! I said "really?! You guys got my prescription wrong and I have to pay to put it back?! She said yes because it had been past 30 days. I explained to her my situation and honestly, regardless- you got my prescription WRONG! That is a fair reason to fix it. I wasn't asking for another exam- just simply renew my old original prescription. Let's not forget the money I spent on new glasses with that bad prescription and I wasn't asking for that back. I just wanted my old prescription renewed. They refused. That alone shows me they do not care to correct their mistake. They only care about making money. A piece of paper does not cost $40! I'll take my business back to Target. Both the Moorpark and Simi locations are fantastic and have great customer service! I only came here because my medical covers the exam. I would rather pay for my prescription then have it done WRONG- spend $500 on new glasses and then be told they won't fix it for me with a piece of paper that takes 30 seconds to write. No thanks. I liked it was quick and fast. The employee and Dr was nice . They were up front didn't try to up sell me which I appreciated I know some clinics are like that want to sell you everything even the glasses case. Thank God my vision was great. I guess they don't do dilation in the eyes cause of covid or medically necessary which is covered by insurance wish they would of told me , they had be do the machine which was 39 dollars. I understand cause of covid but if someone can't afford 39 dollars wonder if they will do the dilation that's only thing that bothered me but it was A plus experience. I am happy read more

Best Eye Dr office! The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. Jamie at the front desk was incredibly patient. She was planning to take her lunch break and I was taking FOREVER to pick out my new frames. I felt bad she was waiting, so I told her I would just come back another day, but she insisted that I take my time. On top of that, she graciously helped me narrow down my frame choices. It pays to have a second pair of eyes! Jessica was also helpful. Our insurance was running out soon and I wanted to get my husband in for an eye exam appt. When I came into the office, Jessica remembered our conversation and tried to get him in that week. Unfortunately, my husband's work schedule was crazy busy. He ended up going to another eye dr and had a terrible experience. And lastly, because of the current pandemic, Dr. Tedder personally delivered my glasses! To ensure excellent service, she had to make 2 trips to my residence. Amazing service from START to FINISH. Thank you Advanced Family Vision. Hands down just the best service and professionalism you can ask for. I've worn glasses and contacts my whole life so I've been a customer of several optometrists over the decades. Dr. Tedder and her staff have always been great to me but what I'm most impressed with is how they work with my daughter! Aside from the service Dr. Tedders really knows what she's doing her staff can expertly navigate the various insurance carriers and manufacturers to help you get what you need. I love that they always look for rebates or warranties for my family! We had to go to another optometrist last year because of a timing issue and the experience was horrible in comparison. It only emphasized how good this office is. We are never going anywhere else again! read more

The office overcharges for services and products. Unethical business practices. Charged me additional 60 dollars for writing a prescription for eye drops during a routine exam. They claimed it was a charge for a "medical appt". What a joke. Never buy contacts from them. They charge 30-40% more than if you get them ordered online. I had my appointment earlier this week and I cannot say enough good things about the doctor and the staff. I've purchased glasses from them in the past (every time I've had an amazing experience) but this time I did my eye exam with them as well. I had to bring in my newborn with me and Dr. Tedder was so patient and understanding when my daughter started getting fussy during the exam. Not once did I feel like I was being rushed or being an inconvenience as I took longer during my exam and looked for new glasses/contacts. I love supporting small businesses and love even more when the small business has excellent service. read more

I was very pleased with our visit. This was the first time I took my children, 7 and 10, for an eye exam. Dr. Le was awesome with my youngest, who doesn't like to have ANYTHING in her eyes, and she was very responsive to my children. The staff was also very attentive and helpful. I cannot say enough about this business. Professional, home grown, convenient. Kimmy and staff are very committed to making sure your clinical needs are met, tying in ins benefits, and service to fit into your schedule. You can save a few dollars having the clinical work gone here and getting frames elsewhere but the savings are not worth a new trip and having to deal with Walmart/Costco service. read more

So heart broken... Just got word Dr. Tedders office manager is leaving after the year!! She was the reason my family and I came to this place . She was the the only person we ever had that knew what she was doing not only here but since I wore glasses for 17 years ! I have had horrible times with the other two optometrists in town. I went for the first time today for my appointment with Dr. Kimberly Tedder. She was extremely knowledgeable and personable. I felt very confident in her abilities and her expertise, and her examination was very thorough. She listened to my concerns about macular degeneration and my genetic pre-disposition to it via my father. She put my mind at ease after the exam was completed, that there are no signs of early macular. I truly felt like she was a partner in my eye health care, working with me to resolve my chronic dry eye, and correction of my vision with a comfortable set of contact lenses. The office staff were friendly and efficient. The examination room was impressive with state of the art equipment. They even have a camera that can take a picture of your eyes without dilating them which is a nice feature. They explained what is covered by insurance and what isn't, and I appreciate them being up front about any out-of-pocket costs. I will be back in three months for a follow up and I'm very grateful that I have now found a reliable professional optometrist that is in my neighborhood. She needs to learn how to be more professional and diplomatic. The only redeeming quality about this place is Dr. Tedder. The rest of the staff is terrible. I have been misquoted prices, over charged, then not charged enough, I listened to one customer ask why she was charged differently than what she had been told originally. They have also on a couple of occasions not bothered to call me when my order was ready. I will not be going here again. Which is really a shame because Dr. Tedder is awesome. read more

Very disappointed! Love the doctor, went in for eye exam at the end of the year, so waited for new insurance before buying my frames and lenses. I let the staff person that was helping me know this, no mention of an additional appointment needed to do this. Went by on a Saturday around 11, they were closed even though their hours state until 1pm. I went again on 2/15, called at the door and was told I would need an appointment. There was not any other customers in the lobby, the person on the phone was short and rude. I let her know I was off for the day and just wanted to select some frames and already had one pair that I had looked at, still no go. I told her I came by on Saturday, but they were closed and she just said we close early. So asked for my prescription and took my business elsewhere. $500 out of pocket + insurance money they will not receive and will not receive my husband's business any longer either. I want to buy locally from smaller businesses, but went to Lens Crafters in Simi and they let me in, were very customer focused. I understand protocols for Covid, but really think this was laziness and rudeness. read more

Best place around for eye care! Dr. Tedder is very thorough, very knowledgable, has excellent people skills and is fantastic with kids too (if you are considering taking your child, she was AWESOME with my pre-teen son). She's got a vast assortment of frames to choose from and the turn around time for prescription lenses is really quick. Something else I was really impressed by was that she picked up an abnormality with one of my retina and, though didn't create alarm, was quick to refer me to a specialist in the area. Having dealt with vision issues for 40+ years, this is hands down the best optometrist office I have ever been in. Dr. Tedder and Dr. Le are both very nice, thorough, and knowledgeable. The office staff are incredible! They are efficient, courteous, and professional. And they really know what they're doing. As a healthcare provider, I have seen my share of offices and truly consider this one an example of how any healthcare practice should be run (from both a professional and patient's point of view.) No hard sale, they knew exactly what my insurance covered and they didn't push for better frames or lenses.
