My wife and I recently bought a fixer-upper house to call our forever home, and we quickly realized…read morethat the shared wood fence along our property line had been neglected for decades. After looking into replacement options such as wood and vinyl, we decided to invest in a slumpstone wall for its lack of maintenance required and longevity. After consulting with several local masonry contractors, we chose CPF Masonry and it was a great decision! We valued Pat's extensive knowledge of the requirements for a structural wall and their pricing was highly competitive. Pat also demonstrated extreme patience with us during a lengthy pre-construction phase as we were dealing with a difficult neighbor for the project. CPF Masonry managed the entire project from start to finish: tearing down and hauling away the old wooden fence, building the new stone wall, and helping with the cleanup afterwards. The final product looks absolutely phenomenal and completely transformed the aesthetic of our backyard. If you are looking for an honest, highly skilled, and completely reliable masonry team in the Thousand Oaks and Ventura County area, I cannot recommend Pat and the CPF Masonry crew enough!

The work they do is flawless - perfectly done every time. Pat is a true pro - friendly and reasonable with a wealth of knowledge. They have done two projects for us - adding a section on the top of an existing brick wall and extending our patio to fill in a planter where a tree died. Their work speaks for itself. We love CPF and are always thinking of the next project for them!

They were helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and took the time to explain all that was being done to secure our foundation. They took care of everything. They provided all documentation and Permit. I needed to repair some foundation cracks as well as create a new exterior crawlspace access door…read more I am a first time homeowner, with very limited budget but I didn't want to compromise on quality. I don't need show, but the work should be good functional quality. Above all, I hate salesmen who try to sell things, without basing on clear facts. I am an engineer and I like to thoroughly research, even though I am not in construction trades. I got 4 quotes before proceeding with Adam. He stood out from day 1, making it clear what he was recommending and why. He didn't try to oversell, and he gave clear evidence backed rationale for everything. He was honest. He encouraged me to get other quotes so I do my due diligence. I checked and double checked what the other foundation contractors told me, and it became clear towards the end that Adam's advice had been fact based. Some of the other contractor's advice conflicted... do an underpin, don't do an underpin. An underpin can harm your foundation by adding stress as you don't have rebar, etc. At the end, having satisfied myself I went with Adam. His prices were not the lowest nor the highest, but fair. Stand up guy. Highly recommend. Good company, the crew whi worked on my home were all Sunshine employees, not random temps. Looking forward to not worrying about my foundation again.

He spent the time explaining the process and specifically pinpointed how other work I had done contributed to the issues I was having. Overall our experience with PFR was good. The only area of improvement was in communication. At one…read morepoint I received a 9pm text notifying me that workers would be at the property the following day. If I was living in the property that wouldn't have been a problem. But this is a rental property. There are elderly people in the home as well as people who work from home. The person texting me was apologetic. My biggest concern on communication were when fees increased or new fees needed to be paid. PFR had to order additional material which was not expected or disclosed it might be needed in the original contract. I noticed when they sent me the bill. Had I not looked over my bill in detail I would not have known about the additional cost. I spoke to the owner who apologized and gave me a discount. My last bill had an additional fee for a special inspection. Again I was not notified about this additional fee. While this special inspection possibility was disclosed no one told me it had happened. Therefore I had to scramble to get the extra $825 to pay PFR. I should have known about this charge the moment it happened so I could plan accordingly. Those were the main hiccups. Other than that the process was great. It took awhile because of unforseen material that needed to be ordered. The whole process took about 7 months. Which I suspected it would because we were dealing with LA County for permits. The work they did looks great! I am very happy with their work. Everyone was very helpful and nice when I spoke to them, apologetic for the mishaps. The tenants say all the workers were nice and respectful.
