The work is not only solid, it was completed within the schedule set up front. Anything I questioned as the work was in progress -- primarily because I changed my mind about a few things as they were underway -- was resolved immediately. This company puts the customer first. JJ went above and beyond to stick to the price quoted -- there were no surprises -- and we paid exactly what was quoted up front. Given the range of work done, this was especially appreciated. But most importantly, it is beautiful quality work!

However, after years of ongoing issues, I feel their experience should be shared. This company completed our kitchen, fireplace built ins, laundry room cabinets, and one of our hall bathrooms. Unfortunately, every project has had some type of quality or workmanship issue. Especially when compared to another bathroom we later had remodeled by a different company, the difference in quality, attention to detail, and overall workmanship was very apparent. The most concerning incident occurred last night when both laundry room wall cabinets failed after the backs separated from the cabinet boxes, causing them to completely fall of the wall. Thankfully no one was hurt, as this happened while we were asleep, but it was very alarming to see cabinetry fail in this manner. While we understand the occasional problems can happen with any project, the fact many issues have occurred across multiple areas of the home over time has left us very disappointed with the overall quality of work and material provided. I take no pleasure in posting a negative review, but after repeated problems and significant frustration, I feel it is important for potential customer to be aware of our experience. After receiving our deposit, the company significantly increased the price of the project to an amount we could no longer afford. We tried to discuss the situation in person at their office, hoping to find a solution, but instead we were treated disrespectfully. The owner raised his voice, yelled at us, and made the situation even more stressful. The document we signed was not a formal construction contract, yet we were left without our deposit and without the project moving forward. We filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC), but unfortunately we did not receive the help we expected. We also hired attorneys, which has only resulted in additional expenses while trying to resolve this matter. Our experience has been frustrating, financially draining, and extremely disappointing. I encourage anyone considering this company to carefully review all paperwork, make sure you have a detailed written contract, and fully understand the terms before paying a large deposit.
