This has to be one of the best bakery brand in the Duluth area right now... I've been to their Suwanee location several times, but this was my first time at the Duluth location... Looked very similar, but a bit smaller. The selection was equally strong though! I ordered several items to try (couldn't afford to eat all, but had bites of each!)...and they were all incredibly good. I also stopped by a second time during my trip to try this amazing blueberry-strawberry yogurt cake, as well as buy some varieties for my husband. In any case, you can't go wrong with just about any bakery item here...truly first-rate!

If you know me, you know I've got a serious sweet tooth. So when my fiancée sent me a reel of Confections Bakery, I didn't hesitate--I said, "Let's go. Now." Pro tip: if you've seen all the viral buzz about their 80-layer tissue bread, melon bread, Japanese salt bread, or flat pistachio croissant, do yourself a favor and get there early. We went at 9 PM on a Friday and they were already out of those--but no worries, because there was still plenty to choose from. Our #1 favorite: the Sweet Corn Bread. Chewy, buttery, and filled with corn and onions--completely unexpected but SO good. Pro tip: they have a little warmer where you can reheat your pastries for extra enjoyment. 10/10 would buy again. Next up: Cream Puffs. Simple? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely. At only $1.50 each, I honestly don't know how people don't just buy a dozen. Other highlights: Blueberry Cupcake - Only one left and it was calling my name. Light, fruity, and divine. Cloud Donut - Soft, airy, filled with creamy goodness. Different in texture and flavor, maybe even better chilled (we took ours home to test that theory). Sweet Potato Hwangnam Bread - Sadly, this one was a miss for us. Macarons - We tried passion fruit, peach, raspberry, and salted caramel. The peach and mango flavors were especially amazing. Each macaron had a surprise filling in the center, which made them even more special. The raspberry (actually cocoa raspberry) was a bit too sweet for our taste. Oh--and I didn't get to try the salted caramel because my fiancée devoured it without offering me a bite. So... it must've been good. We almost got the Oreo and strawberry macarons too, but hey, you've got to leave yourself a reason to come back, right? (Just kidding--we're coming back regardless!) There's also a wide selection of drinks I plan to explore, starting with the Matcha Strawberry. Bottom line: Confections Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit if you love sweets, surprises, and delightful Asian-inspired treats. Can't wait for round two!

We got the strawberry fresh cream for a birthday. The cake was simple and stunnning. Staff was very friendly. Cake was somewhat comparable in price to other Korean bakeries. In general they run on the pricier side. The cream tasted light fresh and not to sweet the way we like it. However, the cake part itself was alright. I believe there are better cakes out there. Overall it was a decent cake.

Cute bakery with European vibe. Amazing sweet and savory pastries, quick efficient service and plenty for vegetarians

Every time I walk into Confections, I'm greeted by such a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. I always take a look around to see if there are any new breads or items I haven't tried yet. This time, I tried the BLT Sandwich combo, and I absolutely loved it. The flavor really suited my taste, and it felt like a healthy choice as well. The triple mushroom bread and crab stick bread are still my must-buys every visit. The cupcakes were also excellent. Definitely coming back again.

This is a Korean dessert place. My parents and I came here after lunch for some coffee and a piece of cake. The service is always good here. Ambiance is very cool and shiek. I got my mom a mango strawberry cake which was so good. We go here when we have a chance to stop by. The breads and coffee selection are really good. It's always packed.

Parking can be a difficult because it's a pretty busy plaza in general even with a bunch of spaces but it's probably much better on weekdays during more "off hours". The space is bigger than I thought it would be, gives off a European feel with the type of tables and chairs they have set up. I've only been on weekends and it's always been super busy with people. I think most Korean/asian type bakeries have increased prices for their goods now. Also, not sure when the best time to go is because it's a hit or miss for what they have out and available. I'm assuming first thing in the morning is best? I've been in during earlier afternoons and have been disappointed that not everything was there. What really drew me here was that they have salt bread! Had it in Korea and fell in love. Such a simple thing, but there's something about it that makes me want to keep eating it. Also tried their Oreo croissant, the filling was DELICIOUS. The croissant was a big soggy but still good. Would recommend both!

Confections has been on the list to try out. Confections is basically another Asian styled bakery. I feel like there's a bar that is set when it comes to Asian styled. Korean and Japanese bakery has very similar styles, and this place is one of the other spots. We only got a tiramisu cake and it was tasty! There's plenty of seating and the service here was alright. We came close to closing so there wasn't a lot of options, but what we did have was perfect for an after dinner dessert.

This is my second time here! The first time, I stumbled across Confections was accidental. I see a new cafe opening so of course I had to check it out after I dine at Super Pho. Upon entering, the facility is do bright that my eyes recoiled at the shining beams from the chandeliers above. Facility is aesthetically pleasing to see, there is plenty of seats and overall, the place is decently clean when there is not a rush. The food/desserts are great. There are various amount of pastries to choose from, and each and every single one of their item looks delicious. There is also a lot of foot traffic at the place, since it is new after all, so studying here might be a little difficult if you are easily distracted. Overall, I believe Confections is a great addition to the cafe scene in Duluth, however one concern I immediately notice is the health standard of the items; especially the bread that are left (open air) sitting on the massive table of goodies.

Sooo happy and impressed by this new location of Confections! They have so many unique savory and sweet pastry options that I haven't seen anywhere else, or not all in one place - garlic baguette, egg salad sandwich, mushroom flatbread, scones, etc. Everything looked pretty filling. I prefer savory over sweet so the amount of savory options is a big plus for me. I only had the caprese croissant this time around and it was so yummy, flaky, and pesto-y! Also, their cakes are literally the best korean bakery cakes I've ever had in Georgia (also the most expensive but its worth it here, and I can't say the same for other bakeries) - and I've tried a lot of the others - White Windmill, Tous Les Jours, Sweet Hut, Paris Baguette. Their matcha mousse cake has fluffy layers of both matcha and strawberry whipped cream, the cake is light and fluffy, and there is a layer of dense matcha cream as well so this one is perfect for matcha lovers. I also had the fruit cream cake which was delicious as well. The interior is a big open space with a sort of elegant, chic vibe, plenty of seating with cute european style chairs and lots of table space. I can't wait to come back to try all the other pastries and sandwiches!

Before our wedding, we were able to pick up one of Vy's tasting packs of cake, all of which were incredible tasting and helped us choose the flavours we would want for our final cake. Highly recommend picking up a tasting pack if you are able to! We have honestly never seen a cake fly off the table so quickly - to the point where we weren't even able to have one of the flavours on the wedding day as the guests ate it all so quickly! So many compliments have been given from friends and family about her cake. Overall, we highly recommend getting a cake from Syndesi for whatever event you may have coming up. My mom really liked her rose grapefruit tea, as the server recommended the floral option based on my mom's requests. My dad basically chugged his red bean milk tea, so pretty sure he enjoyed it. They also really appreciated the quality of their drink cups - and ended up reusing them as water cups for a couple weeks afterward lol. The tiramisu bento cake was tasty - not necessarily a tiramisu, more like a chocolate espresso cake? But still a semi sweet, moist and creamy treat. We walked into a small, straightforward space where what stood out immediately was the variety of pastries and baked goods lined up throughout the counter. The setup felt more like a grab-and-go spot, but there were enough interesting items that it made sense to slow down and actually look through what they offered. The main draw here is the bread selection. We spotted items like milk bread, pineapple buns, mochi-based pastries, and savory breads such as pork floss buns, all of which felt freshly made and rotated quickly depending on the day. The milk bread in particular stood out for its soft texture and rich flavor, while the sweeter items leaned more subtle rather than overly sugary. It was the kind of place where we ended up picking a few different things because it was hard to settle on just one. There were also a few refrigerated and specialty items like tarts and filled pastries, which added a bit more variety beyond the standard bakery selection. Some items felt more premium than others, and pricing varied depending on what we picked, but the overall focus was clearly on soft breads and Asian-style baked goods rather than desserts or café-style sweets. The atmosphere was simple and functional since it was inside a supermarket food court area. It was not really designed for sitting and lingering, but the space was clean and organized enough to quickly browse and make a selection. Service was straightforward, and in some cases we were able to sample items before buying, which helped when deciding between different breads. Overall, Shokku Bakery is a solid stop if you are already in the area and want fresh Japanese-style baked goods. It is not a destination bakery in terms of ambiance, but the quality of the breads and variety of options make it worth visiting for a quick pick-up, especially if you enjoy soft milk bread and classic Asian bakery items.
