There were two pavilions in the area and we had the one on the right, but the one on the left was being used by two different groups of people celebrating two different events. I don't know if either or both rented it, or if both showed up at the same time, but it looked like an awkward situation. The pavilion we rented had at least one electrical outlet good for a crock pot or stereo, but don't think there were many more. Next to it was a small barbecue grill that was about 18x24". It was big enough for a family gathering, but it couldn't possibly hold enough food for a crowded pavilion unless they were all eating hot dogs. We tried, and only got about 16 burgers on it at a time. A large garbage can with a bag liner was inside at the corner, but we were told that it was NOT for use by people who rent the pavilion (rental is carry in-carry out) but instead was for use by those who don't rent the pavilion. That must be a mistake as nobody would have such a stupid policy. Nearby was a nice kids playground, and all around us and mixed through the trees was a disc golf course. I should have brought my old Frisbee from college. I was told a creek also ran in the area. Bathrooms were within sight but I never ventured near them. All told, a decent place to rent.

We typically go up to Rob and Deb's in Glens Falls but Dan's is closer. What a disappointment. I'm not sure if it was Dan that served us or he had just found the most miserable, rude " I don't want to be here." staff member out there, because that is what we got. He was sullen, snippy, rude and actually seemed like he resented us being there. Huge turn off. We ordered 3 small ice creams, and they were indeed small! Definitely not reflective of the price, which was more indicative of a larger size. I was disappointed, but the snippy service we had received prior to actually getting the ice cream left a yucky taste anyway. We will not be going back, and will instead continue to drive to an alternative. Maybe Guptil's, which is also nearby. These days, with so many other options, service and being polite to people is key. An older couple arrived shortly after us and he was equally rude to them. The one star is because we did actually get ice cream. I'd give zero stars for service.

The course is creative and none of the holes are banked the same. It's great for younger children also, because it is not too complex. Not sure if the lights automatically turn off at 8:55 pm, but it would be useful to have them on until your golfers complete the course. We had to use our flashlights for hole 17 and 18. Loved the decor and enjoyed the Saratogian history. If you're visiting, this is a great way to have a crash course in local history. There is an overlook to the waterfall near hole 8/9 so if you need a break before the back 9, you've got it! Some of the pole stands could use some assistance with cleaning (have some kind of moss on some of them, specifically hole 7 stand).

One got cookies and cream and the other also got coffee. We sat in the shade at the picnic tables they have available. They have a chalkboard wall where you can write messages if you want to. Its a bowling alley what can I say…read more Needed some entertainment and decided to try some bowling here. Its the standard bowling alley feel.... They have a pretty big arcade in the front and standard bolwing alley in the back. They have a bar of course and seems to be a pretty decent menu that you can order from. Workers were friendly and while I didnt eat the food the wings looked really good. My only problem is that our lane kept breaking down. I think it got stuck like 4 times during our 2 game session. This area does have beautiful foliage during the autumn. The parking area is not large, but there is an area reserved for handicapped parking. Our group stopped into Saratoga National Historic Park on a Tuesday morning. Many of the parks have…read morelimited hours/opening days due to President Trump's cuts so we were happy to found a park open on a Tuesday. We spent our time at the Visitor Center as we couldn't commit to the road around the park due to other obligations. As we arrived we were invited to a Ranger Talk ne Game Show starting in a few minutes. We joined about 15 other folks outside for the talk/game show. It was awesome. The park's historian presented all of the parties that were blamed for the British army's loss and we chose the quotes from the General's book best attributed to each group. It was lots of fun and I definitely learned a lot in a short 30-40 minutes. When then watched the video inside about the battle's history and explored the visitor center. I'm sure the exhibits and stops around the drive are fantastic. We took a lot away from just our experience with the ranger and the visitor center. I highly recommend this stop to others. It's the first time the British army surrendered in their HISTORY! That's major. Have a great visit!

You're right on the water and liable to see birds (lots of water fowl right now). You may get to see a boat going through the Lock, which is a very tidy little operation, with everything freshly painted in the blue and gold colors of a 1960s NY license plate. From Rt 4/Rt 32, turn onto Stillwater Bridge Road. Cross the river and you'll see signs right away for the canal park. It does close for the winter; check hours before you go.

The racing and betting is so much fun and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. So much food produced on site for every taste possible available for purchase throughout. We ordered 6 pizzas from the wood burning pizza place and we were loving it. ( if you have a keen sense of smell, there is basil growing in the planters that makes the pizza that much better.) All in all a good way to spend the day- Betting, eating and people watching!
