I went to…read morecollege in Schenectady so it was really cool spending the day in my old stomping grounds and seeing that they renovated the old armory into something everyone can enjoy. Finding the parking lot was a bit tricky, GPS doesn't take you the correct way, it ends up leading you from 890 onto State Street West, and over the bridge on Hwy 5 versus State Street East to S Church St, where parking is located on the backside of the venue. There is actually parking area at the front of the building but we couldn't figure out how to get there. Its somewhere off of Fuller St. but the entrance was blocked leading up to the parking area. I've never been inside the building before, this place is massive, old, and built to last. If you love old buildings make an effort to pop your head inside even if you don't purchase a ticket to see the museum. There are two gorgeous and enormous solid wood doors to the entrance of this place still in service. Also, the interior hallways and arches are brick, I loved the construction and history of the building. I wish I could afford to live in a structure this fortified. Tickets are cheapest on Wednesdays, so if you're looking to save a little extra, that is the best day to go. They also offer discounts if you have a VIP Pass (annual fee) if you are a student, or Senior. I will post a photo of the current pricing but know that a basic adult ticket is $33.90 Monday through Friday. Weekends and Holiday tickets for adults are $37.90; it's not cheap. We didn't know if we were going to have enough time to see everything plus the immersive experience because we had to be back home around 3:30pm. So, mom and me went directly to the Immersive Voyage Experience then came back to the beginning and went through each section of the museum in order. You could easily spend an hour and a half here when it's not busy. The immersive experience is interesting and can leave you feeling somber. You sit inside a lifeboat in a very large room with a 360-degree projection and relive (from the outside-looking-in) the ships tragic iceberg collision, the Marconi Wireless communication between the SS Californian, RMS Carpathia, and SS Frankfurt; and final moments of the 2,200 passengers and crew before sinking on April 14,1912. Each ticket holder receives a boarding pass experience which is a replica of an actual boarding pass a passenger would have received back in 1912. The ticket I received was for Charles Joughin a crew member and British Chef who was the Chief Baker aboard the Titanic, this guy actually survived the sinking. This hit home because I too was a professional Chef at one point in my life and studied in Schenectady, NY. What are the odds of getting this ticket? Pretty cool! There are over 200 Historical artifacts on display, some are the real deal and some are exact replicas. There is a lot of reading to do so be sure to bring your glasses with you if you need them to read. There are several life-sized room recreations that are great for photo-ops (i.e., the grand staircase). The highlight for me was the display containing the sheet music for 'Ghost Dance,' owned by Henry Sutehall; found in his leather suitcase at the bottom of the ocean floor, which was played by Wallace Hartley as the Titanic was sinking. It was amazing that someone recovered these artifacts and Hartley's violin from the wreckage. All-in-all we had a great experience. I would say it's a little pricy for what it is and if you've already been one time I can't imagine there would be a reason to go again unless the curators are constantly changing things up or offering group discounts. It's a great way to do something fun and educational for the family or school field trips.

This was recently built and it its architecture is similar to the old Voorheesville train station. There is a small train-shaped playground area for the kids, and some informational display maps for anyone interested in learning about the area. But for me, the draw is a nice place to sit and watch the trains go by. I used to park here in the dirt and grass parking lot and watch them, but now I have some creature comforts available. For the biking and/or walking enthusiast, the trail has a lot to offer too. My wife walked along part of it and noticed other small areas to park and relax. All well and good, but for me I just want to see the trains. It is nice that everyone can enjoy this area.

It's not "top tier" like some of the places in Orlando or Tennessee, but then again, I only have to drive a few hours to get here. They offer all the usual slides, flumes and thrills for a competitive price. Tickets were $43 per person.......which isn't cheap, but the park is clean, well kept and is very family friendly. Concessions are a little pricey, but what isn't these days? They offer a cabana rental in addition to the daily pass and if you come with a large group, I think it may be worth it. You have a place to call "home base" when you're there and kids can come and go all day long to take a break from the heat, have a snack or just relax for a few minutes. The cabana rental also includes some meal vouchers which is money you'd be spending anyway as I don't think they allow outside food or drink in. If you're interested, there's also an "adults only" bar on the premises if you'd like to unwind with a cocktail.

We alerted a supervisor abouta little girl who had injured her foot, a medic came right away and we saw the girl later running around. The playground is a bit sparse but it's spacious and has slides and swings. Once part the boardwalk/bridge with streams running underneath, there are several trails although they basically loop or otherwise all connect. There's a path that connects directly to what looks like the baseball field at Lisha Kill Middle School, so we could hear kids play while walking on some part of the trails. I hope this natural space is preserve for a long time for all to enjoy.

If you're booking for a group with a minor, they prefer to have the waiver printed and signed before arrival. However we were able to fill out another copy of the waiver on their tablets to start our group appointment. The two hour block was the perfect amount of time. By the end we were so exhausted we couldn't keep going. It has been over 10 years since we last climbed at a different gym so it was really great to get back into top roping. The staff gave us a quick tutorial to show us how the equipment works and discussed safety. It was a great refresher and extremely helpful. They offer equipment rentals, including harnesses, chalk, and shoes, also snacks and drinks are available. This was a lot of fun and we'll be back soon.

We have never been to this facility and are completely new to rock climbing in general. My girl…read morescout troop booked a two hour "party" with our earned cookie money and we were extremely satisfied. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and prioritizes everyone's safety. The facility is spacious, had nice clean bathrooms/changing rooms, a hand washing station, and cubbies. The climbing walls start off "beginner" and get progressively harder. There are various options for booking parties, monthly memberships, or attending open climb. You can rent equipment (shoes, harnesses), and buy chalk. There were kids climbing from five/six years of age all the way to grandparents. We will definitely be back in the future!

The owner, Scott, went above and beyond--he was kind, welcoming, and truly hands-on the entire time. You could tell he cares deeply about the skating community and worked nonstop to make sure everything ran smoothly. The facility was clean, well-run, and had great energy. My daughter and I had a wonderful time meeting skaters and families from all over the Northeast, and the sense of community was something really special.
