I had read a little about the success of ketamine assisted psychotherapy for anxiety (among other things). Transcend just opened up nearby, and I decided to give it a shot. In 6 sessions, it changed my life. That droning "baseline" anxiety I would always feel is gone, my outlook on life dramatically improved, and I no longer feel irritable. Most ketamine clinics just give you some ketamine and send you on your way (check the therapeutic ketamine subreddit and see what others do). Transcend is unique in that you are talking with a psychotherapist during the entire infusion, which is much more therapeutic than ketamine, alone. Then there's Will. He's the head nurse on staff at Transcend. He goes out of his way to make sure you are getting the most out of your therapy. In addition, he probably knows more about the research and science behind ketamine therapy than most doctors in the field. He is passionate about this field, and is enthusiastic to discuss and field questions from you. I can't thank the team a Transcend Ketamine enough for the positive impact they had on my life.

When I decided to cancel services after, they had me write an email OVER 6 MONTHS AGO AND OVER 15+ PHONE CALLS and it has been chaos and misery since then trying to get the money back for services they didn't even give me and has been nothing but the run around since. Her reason was that my insurance company could not find me in their system. So my wife called our insurance company and they called the office and talked with the woman who does the preauthorizations. They told her what they needed. The paperwork was faxed to the office. This was all started on the 11th of August. I have called every week in hopes that the paperwork has been done. I have left several messages for her and none have been returned. So I call today and finally get her on the phone only to have her tell me that she has never talked to my insurance company and that she has not received any paperwork. My wife was literally on the phone when the insurance called her. I hate to call anyone a liar but she is definitely one. IShe was so rude that I lost my cool. Then she hung up the phone on me. I am so angry with MARIA that I am changing doctors now.

Unfortunately, she resides in another state and in order for this to work, I needed a therapist who could see us remote and licensed in both Texas and Massachusetts--something you have to manually cross reference for. On top of that, as an Asian woman, I wanted a female therapist from a similar cultural background. I found Healing Space who had 2 accredited minority female therapists licensed in multiple states who checked all the boxes, plus accepted my insurance. After a virtual consultation, we began our sessions with Yajaira the following week. I had hoped a culturally aware female therapist would understand family generational trauma, but instead, she dismissed my feelings multiple times and fell prey to my narcissistic mother. It felt more like a generational gang-up than a safe space. For example, when I had stated my mother neglected my emotions growing up, the therapist had stated at least I wasn't physically abused... this was incredibly triggering as I HAVE been in abusive and neglectful romantic relationships as well. To make matters worse, when we concluded our sessions, I was told I was actually out-of-network... For anyone who has ever worked with an out of network provider, they either provide you with an itemized statement for you to send to your insurance to bill OR bill to your insurance as a courtesy. I was offered neither. When I asked for a statement to send to my insurance, I was ignored twice. If you want to protect your mental health and avoid unnecessary stress, DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!

My husband recently was scheduled to have allergy testing and treatment done at this clinic. Despite having both primary and secondary insurance on file, the office has refused to bill the secondary insurance for the allergy-related services and instead is attempting to collect an estimated amount based on primary insurance directly from us. What makes this even more frustrating is that they did bill the secondary insurance for his primary care visit during the same time frame, which clearly shows they have the information and ability to process it. This inconsistent billing practice has created unnecessary stress and confusion. Patients should not have to chase down billing issues or be pressured to pay out of pocket when a secondary insurance policy exists that should be billed first. We have tried to address this with the office but have not received a reasonable resolution. Transparency and consistency in billing are basic expectations in healthcare, and unfortunately that has not been our experience here. I would recommend that patients ask detailed questions about how this clinic handles secondary insurance billing--especially for specialty services like allergy testing--before agreeing to treatment. However this annual check should have been, (and always has been in the past), free?
