I was having problems with my HP laptop's wireless card a few months ago and after trying in vain to fix the thing on my own, searched on Yelp for the best repair house. Connectiionz came up, had great reviews, but was in Pasadena. I said eff it and drove out there. I had no idea how much the fix was gonna cost, but needed it done, so was prepared to pay. Tony answered the bell, walked me back to his shop (past his kitchen where his wife was looking to make something good). I told him my issues, he booted it up, fiddled around for a bit and said it was fixed. I was still there and he had only worked on it for five minutes or so. Living in Arcadia, I found a few different service providers, but I ended up going with CCR because Tony's yelp reviews were superior. The reviews are accurate. Tony ran diagnostics on all three of my laptops for FREE. He charged me $60 to remove malware/viruses from one laptop. He also gave me an honest diagnosis that I needed to reformat the second computer--he reformated the laptop, backed up data, and installed basic programs for a reasonable price of $120. Best of all, he told me that I didn't need to do any work on my third computer. Honestly, I have pretty outstanding senses when it comes to sniffing out service providers who are out to milk people. We've used his excellent services twice now, but most recently we had a PC that crashed and we needed Tony to bridge some legacy software that was from 1995 to our new PC, which was running Windows 10. We tried installing the software ourselves, but of course with no luck. Couldn't find the original install CD either. Tony was able to get the software up and running from install files saved to a flash drive, onto our new PC, without any kinks - all data recovered, too. I dropped it off by 7:00 pm on a Thursday night. He told me he'd look at it and get back to me by noon the next day. Before noon, Tony called and told me it was ready to go. I got off work late Friday night and couldn't pick up the computer until 9:00. He told me come on by and he'd have it ready for me. I picked it up and he didn't even charge me. Since my last review in 2010, I've recommended friends and family to Tony's service and he's gotten great reviews from them all. I recently took my laptop in for a bit of minor surgery; it was beginning to run hot again, so I asked Tony to crack open the case to clean it out and also re-seat the CPU heatsink with a fresh application of thermal paste. Taking a computer apart is a delicate task and does come with the risk of damage (which Tony appropriately warned me about) Fortunately, Tony did a great a job and my laptop is running a good 12 degrees celsius cooler - and the fans are quieter) As a side note, I read the 3-star review from Evan H...His explanation of the problem he had with Tony's service is an incoherent mess. If his conversations with Tony were anything like his review, it's no wonder Tony wasn't able to help him with his problem. read more

Tony is wonderful. I work from home and turned on my work laptop one day to absolutely zero connection to the internet. My two other computers were working just fine. I knew I was in a bit of trouble as my own company's IS Team would be of zero assistance since I need connection for them to troubleshoot...which was the issue to begin with. I found Tony's name on the Internet after shipping my college-bound son's home built computer across the country by UPS, opening it up in his dorm room and finding a number of parts, including a heavy fan and heat sink rattling around inside. Not surprisingly, it would not boot up. College was starting in a week, so we were in an emergency situation. I am not sure what good fairy led me to Tony, but he got us out of the jam we were in. He was able to look over the computer quickly and determined which parts were faulty and needed to be replaced. Because we were going to try to collect insurance, he had me buy the parts from his distributor so that it did not look like we were padding the bill. He installed a new hard drive, a new video card and a new motherboard and CPU, which we were able to get at a better price than the originals even though they were more powerful. All in a few days. Not only did the computer work better than before, but he straightened out the tangle of wiring that my sons had left when building it initially. For all that, he charged a very reasonable fee for labor and had everything up and running in time for classes to start. He wrote up a clear and professional invoice outlining the damage that he had verified in his tests, which I submitted to the insurance company. Even though I had not kept the original packaging (which UPS really likes you to do for a claim), the clear documentation that Tony helped me put together resulted in payment of the total cost of fixing the computer PLUS they refunded the shipping charges. And my son got a better computer, with neater wiring! One reason Tony was so good at this was because he has often built high powered custom computers for clients so he knows the ins and outs of putting together a system. The computer specialist, Tony, performs a truly wonderful job and the prices for services are much lower than in other places I previously went to. When the hard drive in my laptop broke, I brought it to Tony and he managed to save my whole system and copy it to a new drive with more memory. He partitioned it exactly as I wanted. He did all this in a very timely fashion, despite the fact that the operating system was in a foreign language which he wasn't familiar with! Thank goodness for YELP amd thank goodness for Tony/Connectionz....I was in such a bind a few weeks ago, visiting Pasadena for 2 weeks to get my son set up at college, his computer (basically his entire life...) arrived badly damaged by UPS, where it had been wrapped, shipped and of course also insured. We had very little time to try and get the thing up and working before I left town again, and I turned to YELP to find a repair service. Tony had so many 5 star ratings that I called him, and he literally rescued me that very day, a frazzled mom with no idea how to deal with this issue far from home, in a city I didn't know. Tony is an extraordinarily calm, kind, and smart fellow who was genuinely eager to help me and my son, and did everything he possibly could to deal with UPS (complicated!) and get the PC back in shape. He worked overtime repeatedly, but did ultimately manage the impossible...I just wish he lived in Chicago so I could use him back home. The rave reviews for Tony are still true as of late April 2013. Our Dell XPS was freezing up and the AT&T remote techs tried various things to no avail. The "Geek Squad" wanted a $280 subscription just to look at it. I had an overheating issue with my laptop so I took it to Geek Squad. They told me it would cost $200.00 to diagnose it and if it needed to be opened, they would send it to their main facility with a 2-6 week turn around rate. I had a good idea of what the problem was and did not want to wait weeks and/or pay a ridiculous repair bill. I googled "computer repair pasadena" as I walked out of the Geek Squad store and found Connectionz on the second link. I saw all the positive reviews and called the number. I left a message describing my problem and less than an hour later, Tony called and gave me a more than fair repair quote. I dropped it off and in 2 days, my computer was ready for pick up. My friend scanned my Macbook Pro (2010) and said the hard-drive was failing. It's over 5 years old. I immediately checked YELP to find the best of the best. This is the "go to" guy for all of your pc needs. Had an older model Dell notebook that got a virus and crashed. Tony did an overnight data recovery and recommended/installed enhancements to improve the operating performance until I replaced computer. I basically got another year of use from notebook because of him.
