Our computers weren't communicating with printers. Our internet speed was so slow, I longed for the days of dial up! I was in a mess and desperately in need of a pro. Through Thumbtack, we located the best IT person imaginable, Darryl Morning. When I first contacted Darryl, I found him to be very easy to communicate with and extremely knowledgeable. He was incredibly patient and had a kind spirit (yes, it came across over the phone). He listened carefully to me and understood exactly what our situation was. As a medical office, it is imperative to be able to communicate with hospitals, labs, other physician offices. We were in a time-sensitive situation. Darryl came out right away and in a very short time, after doing much research on our behalf, he set us up with a new phone provider (saving us over $200/mo.) and high speed internet. Darryl then came into the office early one Sunday morning while we were not open, and connected all of our computers, printers, phones and faxes. When Darryl finished, everything was communicating perfectly and running at top speed. He also went up into the ceiling and removed the mess of wires that other installers had left behind. I had a macbook brought in for service, they quoted me $125 to repair it. When I came back to pick it up, they couldn't find the thing! After 3 visits and 5 phone calls over several weeks, they "found it in their warehouse off site". I arrived at the store to pick up my laptop after 3 months of confusion. The bill was $400. me: "WHAT??? $400? You quoted me $125 when i dropped it off." them: "Ohh, well what we thought was the problem, really wasn't, so we went ahead and replaced your hard drive and fixed the motherboard" me: "I didn't authorize that repair. Had I known that, I wouldn't have had it fixed" them: "Well what do you want us to do now, I can only give you $75 for it" Do NOT go here under any circumstances. Do not buy any of their products, they are overpriced. I eventually negotiated the $400 down to get my computer back. They had it installed with an OLDER version of mac OSX than I originally had. Also, they replaced the battery with an older one that does not hold a charge. They ought to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. In fact, I'm going to do that right now.

Last week, the inevitable happened. After loading and re-loading all the crap and peripherals that make this thing work, it uttered its last gasp and refused to reboot even just one more time. Since I'd wasted a whole day off (evidence of my devotion to dying technology here- you'll thank me when the apocalypse comes and we can MacGuyver some radio with its parts to communicate with the people who might be left alive...) I gave up and went online for help (with my good computer, silly). I found these guys via an ad on Craigslist for a free diagnostic. Called them up, they said bring it in and we'll see. A couple of hours later, they worked their magic and this baby was up and humming for a song. ($65 bucks). They even said it's actually one of the better PCs they've had in there, so that was a vote of confidence! (My nerd cred is still intact, yo) Short story, nice service with quick turnaround. Would definitely recommend it to you. I'll be back when the next leaf falls and I can't fix it....OH! I should've checked their specs on Yelp first, they have a COUPON! 15% off....make sure you get it before you head over!

They profess to be ethical - but were acting unethically. When we moved our account to another provider we never had the issues again. According to the new provider Be Structured had the configurations wrong causing our system to crash. When we were crashing why didn't they do everything they could to fix it? It appears it was outside the competency of their technicians. They caused us thousands of dollars in lost revenue. This experience was one of the worst we have had in our 20 years in business.

I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

However, Alan is one of those old-school professional experts who is linear, sequential, thorough, meticulous with his work and yet kind, that he cares about helping you because he has the power. Just hearing my distress over the phone, he talked me through a computer glitch and suggested a solution...on the day before HE was going in for surgery. Yonks later, I came up against another issue and took my laptop into *another* IT/cell phone repair shop on Overland Avenue (although I hate to walk it anywhere and especially into a public shop). Within minutes of getting there, I knew I was not going to get help because they would not explain what they were doing and had clearly not comprehended my issue. I snatched the computer back, went home, sulked, and called Alan again. He said he needed to remote log in to my computer and he himself sat for an hour, clearing up start up artefacts and talking me through speed and performance issues on my computer. I didn't need to travel, his firm uses a utility to take over my computer remotely. Alan is a very able computer diagnostics expert with a host of suggestions for solutions up his sleeve. This is the kind of person you really want as a computer medic. After the time he spent, he said it was a complimentary consultation...because he really doesn't charge individual clients and if I needed subsequent services he would consider a charge rate. Alan can assess your computer savviness and work with you using explanations at your pitch, rather than act like a hooded monk with secret computer expertise that you, feeble lower being, are not privy to. I would recommend him to anyone. Question is, he doesn't have a storefront here, and is usually only accessible by phone.
