I am writing to share a concerning experience I had during my recent visit to the Lynnwood Costco…read morelocation. As I approached the self-checkout area with only five items, I noticed an associate glance at my cart, change direction, and then proceed to follow me closely to the register. When I turned to ask why, the associate replied that he could help me scan my items--while continuing to focus on the two boxes of sneakers in my cart. I explained that I was fully capable of scanning my own purchases. The way this interaction unfolded felt intrusive and gave me the impression that I was being scrutinized, rather than assisted. It left me questioning whether I was being unfairly targeted as a paying member. I came simply to make a purchase, not to feel policed. I later spoke with a manager, Dominick, who was professional and empathetic. He explained that Costco has been encouraging associates to assist more at self-checkout. While I understand and respect that initiative--particularly for heavy or bulky items--the manner in which this situation occurred came across as forced, aggressive, and unnecessary. I value Costco and have always appreciated the high standards of service and integrity your company is known for. My hope is that this feedback will be used constructively so that assistance at checkout continues to feel helpful and welcoming, rather than suspicious or invasive.

There aren't a lot of staff on the floor (like EVERY grocery store) but they are helpful and knowledgeable. Packaged, bulk and organic veggies. Not the prettiest in town but that's ok. Well-stocked, reasonably priced refrigerated salad dressing. Large bulk item section. Smallish bakery section. Reasonably priced meats (some name brands). Extensive dairy section with Darigold FIT milk. Organic eggs. The seasonal aisle is up front. That's where things go on sale. They haven't reorganized in the years I've been shopping here. Once you're familiar with the layout, zoom. Good prices every day. No loss leaders. If you're worried one of the big three has something on sale, price check with their apps. Self checkout (15 recommended limit) is now debit only. You can use Apple Pay if you have a cash card installed. Cash is now (late 2025) taken only at staffed registers. No CCs. May not be the best store for once-a-month shopping as you bag your own (unless there are two folks shopping). I have never seen a shopping cart filled with trash. Occasionally there might be a plastic veggie bag. No boxes like at Costco unless you bring your own. Don't like their bags? Bring your own. (All stores here charge for bags; it's the law.) A few plants outside. Nothing like Freddy's or even QFC. Big parking lot. Hungry? Run to Dick's! Smallish hot food section in the store. What's not to like? Brand name products, well priced every day. Worried about crowds? Come in the evening. They're open 24x7. Try it!

Come on Winco you can do better than this! life is hard being crippled why make it hard for me to shop?

In long Probably most people know the deal with these places. The stock changes all the time--they buy unsold inventory from other businesses and sell it cheap. The layout is super basic, lots of big mismatched shelving units, not a lot of merchandising. You look around, maybe see something you can use, and note the price. They do have some perishables, and some beer and wine. The alcohol selection is super big-brand stuff, but most of the perishables looked healthy enough. Probably need to get eaten soon but that's cool. The shelf-stable stuff and knickknacks are even easier to shop with confidence. We found chips and snacks and candies, some for us, some for family, nice variety, everything usually at least 50% cheaper than what mainstream stores charge. We found a Hello Kitty coffee mug for $5--that's a goofy stocking stuffer now for my sister, and at the price, even if all it gets is a laugh out of her, it's worth it. We found quite a few other things, including several pounds of wagyu ground beef, all for under $70. These days those are screaming deals. I will say that everybody seemed nice, and not everybody looked like they spend every second of their lives on a tight budget. More people said hello and beg your pardon and all that here than at most stores. Friendly. But as we were leaving, that lady in the gigantic fake leopard-skin coat with the wild hair, wrestling with the shopping carts, crashing them around and cursing, well, that played into the stereotype a bit of who shops at places like this. She almost bumped us pretty hard, but now it just seems like some amusing local color.

Their selection is wide with many Asian items including sushi and sashimi. The price is top notch for everything compared to regular grocery stores. The register section is smooth and speedy, given we do self-checkouts which have hardly any lines and move quick. The food court is great with their self service option. The only downside is the entrance and exit into their parking lot. It can get chaotic bc there is only only one exit into the Costco that is right in front of the store entrance and the other is on the backside of the lot. I'd say enter in from the Home Depot side and park in the back. Or enter the gas side and park behind the other retail stores. If you have the executive, take advantage of the 9am store opening hours with your membership.
