This is our neighborhood cleaners and we have been completely pleased with their service. Shirts/blouses are always done per instructions and dry cleaning is always ready as promised and done to perfection. I just had a chance to try their tailoring and it's fantastic. I had a women's skirt and slacks altered to perfection. Skirt involved taking out and reinstalling the zipper, so this wasn't an easy alteration. Price was reasonable. A real gem! read more

Good cleaners are hard to find and my experiences with Connells have been very good. They are not the least or most expensive, but they consistently deliver when it comes to cleaning. I have not had alterations done here so can't comment on that. They have friendly, nice service. read more

Mai and the rest of the staff is super friendly and tries to accommodate your scheduling needs as much as possible. I've had dresses, shirts, and pants altered here and have never had a bad experience. Our whole family has had their dry-cleaning done here for over five years and have yet to have a bad experience. Dropped my comforter off on a Friday and picked it up an hour and a half after close on Saturday evening. Although they were closed and locked up, the owners unlocked the door for me and let me pick up the comforter instead of turning me away and telling me to come back Monday. I only trust Connell's Valet with my very valued, pricier clothes. Slacks can be dry-cleaned at any discount place. When you have an item that you treasure, take it to Connell's. Our family has been doing business there since the early 1960's. Even though the ownership has changed, the quality outcome of the product has not. Connells has been doing our dry cleaning and alterations for over 15 years. Their work is top notch and they stand behind everything they do. Besides doing our weekly dry cleaning, they have also refurbished antique lace for me. Beautiful work! Buyer beware. They are very friendly as long as you don't have a problem. I brought home two shirts thinking they were mine. I took in two custom made long sleeve shirts with French cuffs and I got back two L.L. Bean short sleeve shirts. They claim it is a computer glitch and that it isn't even my order. Someone mentioned them being rude to the workers, but they were very rude to me. There are lots of cleaners and they all do about the same with the cleaning. Im creating an account just to post this...BEST DRY CLEANING EXPERIENCE ive ever had. They rescued my silk pleated dress from a night out that resulted in my friends spilling more drinks on my dress than I consumed! My dress looked like I had jumped into a swimming pool, COVERED in alcohol stains. For $11, they got every single spot out, the dress looked brand new. I gasped when I saw it!!!! We returned to Connells after a satisfactory trial first visit. We are happy to report they got rid of a very unpleasant (stinky, "sour") odor left by another local cleaner and were able to remove several resistant stains on a favorite shirt. (The owner insisted we let him try.) They did a fine job laundering five shirts (at a reasonable price), and we are very pleased at the tailor's alteration of a pair of slacks. They appear to be a hardworking, customer caring and efficient business. read more

Worst experience ever with a cleaner. I had/have a 10% off coupon (which included leather cleaning it stated) so I took three leather coats to them for cleaning. I just picked them up and they would not honor their coupon because they have to send leather cleaning out to a service to do. I told the owner it specifically says good on leather but she said they still would not honor it. Instead she told me she was going to have the ad person remove that part from the ad. The customer service just kept getting worse. Too bad the new owners were able to purchase the good name of Connell's Valet after many, many years as a reputable business in Vienna. I will not frequent them and advise others to not support this business either. I actually give them zero stars. read more

We like that it's local and we want to support it. The service for the dry cleaning is fine, though their prices are so - so, and the carpet in sometimes seems to be breathing. The issue we've seen is with the head seamstress who has a bit of reputation (in the store) of being difficult. We've mostly been fine with her, she does good work, not great. Recently though, she was quite rude, actually being flustered and more or less yelling in front of other customers to the point where we walked out. One thing it to disagree, another is to lose your cool about altering a piece of clothing. Regardless, we won't be returning. read more

I've been going to Connell's for years; I even bought one of their discount cards. But I will not go back after I had a white dress shirt collar stained and they refused to take responsibility for it, telling me it couldn't have happened in their shop. I am certain that shirt went to the dry cleaner without any stain on the collar; they even re-did if for me at no expense but the stain was still there. When I brought it back a second time, the owner wasn't the least bit interested in taking responsibility or compensating me in any way for the loss of a dress shirt. Sorry, Connell's, you're not the only dry cleaner in town. read more

This cleaner ruined my wedding gown. I brought in my wedding gown (which had previously been worn) to be cleaned because there was a dirt stain around the hem. When I came to pick up my dress, I was exuberant, excited to see the dress that I would be getting married in in just a few months. But when they brought up the dress, I was crestfallen. Connell's Valet not only failed to remove the stain, they returned the dress to me in far worse condition than when I brought it in! There was a six-inch open seam, black specs on the fabric, and four snags on the front of the dress. The dress was unwearable. The owners didn't apologize for their mistake and refused to reimburse me. In fact, when I complained, they yelled at me. Worst dry cleaning experience imaginable. read more

Excellent attention to detail, including covering buttons with foil, making small repairs when noticed, and calling me when there is a question. They have cleaned problem items perfectly (e.g. cat pee on a jacket) - another dry cleaner returned a similar item still smelling bad. I will never change dry cleaner again. read more

Best dry cleaner I have ever used. Friendly staff, great alterations, attention to detail. I was concerned that quality might suffer when ownership changed but that hasn't been the case. Excellent results with all my dry cleaning, including getting spots out of vintage clothes and cleaning designer clothes carefully. Each piece is examined carefully and the owner has called me after drop off several times to alert me to a problem (like a tear or button about to fall off) and has then fixed it at my request. read more

I have gone here a few times and the last time I went was the first time that something went slightly wrong -- but Connell's has great service and they fixed it without question! I had a fancy dress drycleaned there and one of the beads was missing when I picked it up, but they kindly sewed back on an extra one for me. I have used this family-run business over many years. The current owners are great and their commitment to service is high. My family uses them for dry cleaning and laundering shirts as well as simple seamstress work (buttons and hemming). No job has been beyond their capabilities.
