We paddled through the canal which was much calmer and a lot to see. We came out by Bayard and just floated around before heading back. No issue. It was pretty straight forward to go there and back. I was nervous about losing my balance especially due to a recent concussion. The instructor really put me at ease and walked me through everything. With her guidance, I was able to learn how to correctly stand up, hold my paddle, balance, and maneuver the board. As an elementary teacher myself, I really admired my instructor's knowledge, patience, and ability to predict my needs before they even came up. I enjoyed it so much I came back for a second lesson with my husband! He caught up to my abilities extremely quickly! And this time, I was really able to take in the scenery and the beautiful area Moku Loa is based out of. The Oakdale Yacht Club itself feels like a vacation resort, but on the paddleboard you really get a chance to immerse yourself in the tranquil landscape. Seriously, the shoreline is absolutely gorgeous, not to mention the different wildlife we saw while paddling. Eventually, I made it to the Connetquot River and was able to take a quick swim before paddling back in! Just an amazing and fun day here on Long Island! Again, I would definitely recommend Moku Loa Paddle Tribe to anyone with Paddleboarding needs. And also for those of us who could just use a tranquil and refreshing break :)

Once I brought my boat over to the marina I usually dealt with Vinny who is one of the nicest young man that I have met in a long time. Vinny goes above and beyond to make sure all the customers are happy and getting whatever they need to have a great day on the water. Everyone had a great time from the youngest (5 yrs.) to grandma and grandpa. Keith was so accommodating to all the needs of our large group and everyone liked him so much. My husband and boys went fishing and caught a couple fluke. The boys were excited to catch a couple of crabs and robinfish as well. They gave great information upon booking the reservation on the phone. Parking was very easy but depending what time you go I'd go sooner for parking! The women who checked us in was very sweet. She explained everything to us. She told us where to go and how to stay safe. The man who got us on the boards was equally as nice. He gave us a quick course on how to use the boards. The boards were much easy than I thought. I felt secure and got the hang of it pretty quickly. We paddled to an amazing area with a waterfall and past some beautiful houses and shoreline. I loved that you could kneel , lay , stand and just float in the water. It was definitely a fun day and I can't wait to do it again.
