Anybody who's ever needed surfboard repair knows how impossible it is to find a guy who will…read moredo a decent job, on time, for a reasonable price, etc. it's usually less fuss just to buy a new board than to deal with your old favorite board being taken hostage for the next four seasons by some mysterious dude who has three other day jobs in addition to ding repair and who won't return your calls (or your cash). Having experienced this, I hadn't bothered for about ten years and therefore have a backyard full of damaged boards. Island Surf evidently has some magical elf chained in their basement who is the last known craftsman in this trade. I took in a board with dings on the rails, one torn-out fin box (helpful reminder: don't drive over your board with your car), and two crushed "wings" on the swallowtail. Bottom line, this thing would sink in a puddle of spilled milk. The board was returned one day late (one day!! making it the most prompt repair in the history of this industry); the entire tail was rebuilt, looking literally better than new (I didn't ask for this btw); all finboxes replaced (also a bonus). It's no stretch to say it's better than new. The capper was when they handed the board back to me with complimentary wax, fin key, etc. Being a bad surfer, I'm kind of a connoisseur of repair for damaged boards. I can honestly say these guys do the best job I've seen in the US, Asia, etc.

Stopped in to look at getting myself a new driver. Stopped…read moregolfing for 20 years, just getting back into it and my driver shot off the tee is beyond inconsistent. Slice after slice, then 240 pin straight... Paul approached me, took me to the simulator to see my swing and try a few clubs. After 20 minutes of offering me swing suggestions and trying different clubs he said, "I'd hate to seek you the wrong club right now just to sell you a club. I'd feel much better if you come back when the pro is in. He'll be able to better figure out what you're doing wrong and find the right club for you." I am beyond grateful for his honesty and integrity, and it goes without saying that I will not buy a club anywhere else! I'm positive that he's more than capable of getting most people into the correct clubs for them, but in my case, I require the pro. These guys were great. Everyone I spoke to was super helpful. First visit we spoke about a set up for my daughter. They were super helpful and we can't wait to get her bow this week. Spent over an hour just answering our million questions. Today I went there to pick out a bow for myself. They really helped me out. Set up a few bows to shoot and get a feel for what I was going to like. I put them through a lot trying bow after bow just to get a feel even though I'm a rookie. After 3 weeks i noticed i still havent received a tracking number from them as the status of the item stayed at "we are preparing your item to ship. I finally email back and the owner reply "I sent a message to the shipping dept." That's all you say? Didnt want to look into it? Shift the blame if there was a shipping department. I dont think he had the intention of ever sending a replacement hoping i'd go away silently so i just disputed it with my credit card company which gave him 3 weeks to reply. The audacity of this owner to send me an email first before replying to my credit card company saying he wont be shipping a replacement anymore just blew my mind( i confirmed my suspicison as i called my credit card company told me they got no response from him yet.Complete lack of professionalism and ethics was the first negative experience since getting into fishing, the community is great but i guess this is why we cant have nice things
