Fork & Dagger Ale Haus - Cheese curds with sweet lingonberry sauce ($11) (after we all partially dug in) - must get!

Thank you, Yelpers, for directing us to this gem. Delicious food in huge portions, and…read morereservations to boot. We're sure to be back the next time we're in the area. Bar at the front, and hostess and dining at the back. Fantastic ever-so-lightly-fried cheese curds (with a nice long cheese pull), with sweet lingonberry dipping sauce. Cheese curds are a must get! Poutine fries were tasty with a sweet bbq-esque meat sauce, and a hefty portion size. However those cheese curds with the more unique lingonberry sauce stole the appetizer show. (The first time we had them, we immediately had to order another round--leftovers were still tasty, though eating them fresh is by far the way to go to get the full cheese curd impact.) Cod-father ($22) has a similar very light, airy fry to the 2 huge fish sticks, and fish is super tender and well cooked--not at all overdone, which seems to be a rarity with many a fried fish. Generally the winner of the entrees we tried. Pork schnitzel ($32) was tender and had a panko breading, which was nice and crispy, and was topped with a good mushroom gravy (same gravy that's put on their panko chicken and shrimp pasta). This was served with salted green beans and an interesting baked spatzle (good, but I prefer typical spatzle that has more of a pasta texture without any crunch from baking). Panko chicken ($22) was ok, though absolutely needed the gravy for flavor. Pork schnitzel is the way to go between these 2 dishes, though if you're trying to be a touch healthier, can get the chicken with extra gravy. Jambalaya special was very spicy and a popular dish to order based on our observation of fellow, local diners, however if you've had jambalaya in any cities (much less anywhere somewhat authentic), def do yourself a favor and select an alternate dish. This was probably the worst dish we tried. Burger was huge and juicy, hubby loved it and finished every last bit. Overall, easily the best restaurant in the area. I see how it's a destination for in-state foodies. We're fortunate to have discovered it. In fact we were so thoroughly impressed with our first visit, we immediately made another reservation for the following night and brought my hubby's racing team along to spread the food joy. Good selection of beer on tap. Call for reservations. Buy a "round of coffee for the kitchen, $10" if you like the food (we did!). Just be sure to stick with American/German eats, and pass on anything that's perhaps more adventurous.

We were blown away by their extensive drink menu so it was hard to decide, but we settled on PB&J old fashioneds which were sweet but good. For dinner we shared a cheery and goat cheese salad along with the pork schnitzel. Both were delicious. As we were dining the owner introduced himself and gave us a tour of the bourbon bar downstairs. We will definitely be back to experience that and to have another great meal!

There was limited seating, but we got a Seay at the counter no problem. They have a pretty decent breakfast menu and a typical lunch menu including several soup choices. I ordered what I came for, a cheeseburger. I watched them make it on the grill. They started out with a handful of fresh ground beef. Then they smashed it nearly paper thin. The patty was thin and big around. They put slices onions and seasonings on it. When they flipped it over, the onions were grilled into the burger. They also pit a slice of cheese and the top of the bun on.. when it was finished the put it on the bottom half of the bun with the condiments. This burger was very good. What put the burger over the top was the fresh baked bun they used. I was told their buns are brought in fresh daily from a Bakery in Two Rivers. This will be on my best burger list.

We stopped in for lunch, it was busy the tables were full so we sat at the bar. After reviewing the menu, I decided on the cheeseburger boat. It included a cheeseburger and fries. They have an open concept, so you can see the cook, making the deliciousness right there. They use fresh ground beef and the buns are from a local bakery. My burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious! The fries were crispy and golden. We can see why this is a local favorite and will eb hack when a burger craving strikes! FYI-They are cash only so be prepares if you visit.

Parking is convenient. Street level entrance was another plus. Once inside we were greeted with a well decorated establishment that appeared to be well maintained and clean. After sitting down, the staff wasted no time coming to take our orders. We had burgers and fries with one orange juice and one soda. The food was absolutely delicious. Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.

In November 2025 the burger special was the Apple Butter Badger burger, which was a 1/3 pound patty topped with smashed fried cheese curds, sliced apples, apple butter, and wonton strips on a salted pretzel bun. My family and I stopped for dinner so I could give it a try. In addition to the burger I got tater tots. While I don't mind mixing savory and sweet in combos I'm not used to, like having apple on a burger, this particular burger was fine to try once but it's probably not something I'd get again. The apple didn't stand out until the last couple of bites when all I had left was the middle (I eat around the middle first). The wonton strips seemed unnecessary and I would have preferred the pretzel bun without the salt on top. The apple butter was great and stood out in every bite. The tater tots may have been the crunchiest I've ever had and, as someone that has crunch as their favorite food texture, I thoroughly enjoyed them. My wife got the PB&J burger with strawberry jelly and no jalapenos. One kid for the regular Badger burger and the other got just a plain cheeseburger. They also had fries for their side. All of them liked their meals and said they'd get them again. Prices seem super reasonable compared to most other restaurants. The bar area and tables were mostly full, yet our food came out reasonably quick, which was appreciated. Home Burger Bar is a place I'd keep coming back to.
