Usually this place is great for lunch. Not the case this time around. We had a table of 6 and came in at 11:30am. We ordered then waited and waited. Then I noticed literally zero customers had any food at their tables. The bartender said just another 10 minutes after we already waited 50 minutes. We patiently waited another 20 minutes and still nothing! We had other plans for the day, and had zero time left so we had to walk out without even getting any lunch. I've never walked out of a restaurant like that before. The bartender did a great job keeping us served with drinks, but literally zero food coming out of the kitchen. At the very minimum, some transparency should've happened, i.e. no staff, new workers, problems with equipment. read more

Usually good had reservations for 11am for 18 but ended with 13 we were first ones there a little after 12 asked were was our food they said in a few minutes I told them we had a event at 12/30 got our food at 12/20 some didn't even get there food just got containers and left, noticed when we let about 20 people all had their food that came in after us! The pizzas here are pretty good. Great atmosphere and a full bar that seats quite a few people. If there isn't room at the bar you can also order at your table or grab and go at the bar to take back to your seat. If you do order pizza I recommend ordering a smaller pizza as they got some reason taste better. :) read more

Julie is the best waitress. Their pizza is great and they always have something fun going on in the bar. We like to order wings and pizza. But will sometimes share a sandwich. They have a room in the basement you can rent for parties. There is an arcade for kids. It has a different vibe than other pizza places in town. Oh! Also good bloodies. We ordered through Eatstreet at 4:06 (Player's only form of delivery). pizza was delivered at 4:45 but was made wrong. The receipt was correct but pizza was wrong. We had to pay an additional $12.56 in fees (delivery, tip and an additional fee of $2.25) almost as much as the pizza. We called Players and they said they would remake the pizza right away. After an hour and a half we called for an update and they said they tried calling even though my phone didn't show a missed call. They wanted to know if we were coming to pick it up or ordering it thru EatStreet again ($12.56 in fees again). 3 hours later we went to pick up the pizza only because Player's made it wrong in the first place! The only compensation they offered was a free drink to someone who doesn't drink! So disappointing and frustrating. read more

This is our go to place for lunch on Friday's for fish. Friendly bar tenders and wait staff along with an extensive menu make it a favorite place to meet up with friends for a great Bloody Mary or beer. My husband and I both love the breaded haddock special on Friday's. It is served with choice of potato, rye roll, tasty coleslaw, and delicious tartar sauce. Wheee!!! Family friendly place with checkered tablecloths and fun decorated walls. Good for beer, pizza, and bar food. I wanted a burger, but my table was getting pizza, so I decided to make like a lemming and follow the crowd. We got regular pizza flavors, but they had some unusual ones such as baked potato and cheeseburger, which I avoided since I'm a simple girl when it comes to stuff made of cheese, bread and tomato sauce. And wings as an appetizer is a winner as well. We got a multisampler flavors of wings from mild to spicy and I just couldn't make up my mind which ones were the best - they all were great and everyone in my party agreed with me. This place is great. I loved the atmosphere and this time of the year, the Halloween decor was good. Chicken wings, awesome. Got the hot, which is more medium, not over sauced just right. Got the coaches pizza. Thin crisp crust with really good toppings. What can I say, delicious. The only thing I forgot, they cut squares in their pizza. No biggie. But one thing it did prove, that throughout the meal the pizza was always crispy! Great customer service. When I come back, most definitely a spot to come back to. read more

Great crust! The foundation of any great pizza is the crust. Players is thin and crisp, dark and even a tad burnt, with some black showing. For my wife and me, this is perfection in pizza. Add the slightly zesty sauce, the option of canned or fresh mushrooms and we have a winner. This is pizza done right! We travel 46-48 weeks a year for my work. We are pizza, coffee and tea aficionados, Players in Oshkosh made the list tonight and we will give it a go later this week to confirm. Look for review #2! Just ordered delivery from Players and first think they messed up order! Use suppose to get boneless wings and we received boned! Then ordered 3 perch dinner and a order of onion ring and they were not cooked all the way through! Ring were so Saggy that we couldn't eat them! The perch use small and Saggy and vary small! Was very disappointed with the food! Girl on the phone seemed varyer unqualified to take order did know what do and never asked for r payment method! This is an absolute favorite place of ours to visit when we are in Oshkosh. There are so many good things to name, that I will list pros and cons. PROS: 1. Probably the best pizza in Oshkosh 2. GREAT sports bar atmosphere in Oshkosh. Sure beats the Bar or Buf Wild Wings. 3. GREAT prices 4. Very good menu. Large enough to give a major variety - small enough that they can cool all things well 5. More than your "bar food" type of place - they have Lasagna, pastas, and burgers, among many wraps, sandwiches and, of course.,.....PIZZA! 6. The staff are all tenured college kiddos. So, they know their customers, are fun, yet very professional. Seriously good staff. CONS: 1. If you order deep dish pizza, make sure that you say "keep it in a bit longer than usual". Sometimes the crust is doughy if not cooked long enough. 2. There are so many good things on the menu, my hubby and I usually argue over what to order! We usually like Players. We have had good experiences there getting pizza and sandwiches are decent. The fish on Friday imo is not good. The fried Haddock was kind of disgusting it was soggy with grease on the bottom and the coleslaw was brown and warm when served. Sucked! We ate what we could because we were hungry, but I definitely won't be back for fish. There are better places short distance away. We waited an hour for our food and left disappointed. read more

My wife and I visit Oshkosh a few times a year. This place has a thin crust pizza that I would say can match any pizza I've had in Chicago (where we live). The sauce has just the right amount of sweet and spice. I honestly look forward to getting their Chicago Classic Pizza from the second we leave Chicago. read more

I have been going to players since I was a kid, and it is a very enjoyable place to eat. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY the owner/manager would talk to customers that way. Anyway, the menu is reasonably priced, there is a wide variety of food to choose from, and the service is great. Try the Player Chips-they are amazing! read more

Went there on a Tuesday night since that was the wings special night. They had been $5.00 but their website said they were now $6.00 for 12 on Tuesdays. When we got there, the waitress informed us that it was really $2.00 off, so $6.69, not the $6.00 as quoted on their website. And she said she was unable to give them to us at that price, even though that's what they were advertising. We ordered two baskets of wings and zucchini sticks. Wings were not as good as the last time we were there. We ordered the "hot" wings and there was really no sauce on them and nothing hot about them. Zucchini sticks were good. Then they ended up seating a family with 2 little children right next to our booth and the kids were screaming, crying and kicking the booth the rest of our meal. We did have a very good waitress, which was the only saving grace for the night. Very disappointed with our night out and will not be returning any time soon to this establishment. read more
