Marianna Stoltz House - Continental Breakfast

The B&B is historic, quaint & quiet with this B&B -with a modern day flare to it as well. The Host is onsite and attentive to guests, if you need her she's a phone call away and very attentive. The House is "self check in" with information provided when we made our reservation on how to get thru the locks, etc. and was very easy. The House is lovely, with creaks in the wood floors you would anticipate and decorated with artifacts of yesteryear and modern times (games and books available for guests) as it was built in 1908. There are four upstair rooms which share a common bathroom. My wife and I stayed in the Ivy Suite for 3 nights, which had its own private bath including an old fashioned vintage tub with a modern day shower head. I would add: a steep step up into the tub, so probably something to think about if you are challenged with limited mobility issues. Our room had a google device to boost the internet signal which was helpful too! Breakfast was a modern day concept with pour over (local) roast coffee as a plus! Along with coffee there was yogurt, granola, fresh berries, hard boiled eggs, croissants with preserves, bananas, apples, tangerines, a small charcuterie board of sliced meats and cheese, hot tea and iced water. The common areas were well maintained and plenty of places to sit and relax. Overall, the house is comfortable, safe and well landscaped. 10 minute walk to Gonzaga, but nicely situated to local restaurants too. A nice alternative to the brand name hotels for a more quiet and relaxing experience.

We stayed in the…read moreRose Room and since there happened to be no other guests that night, they respectfully gave us a run of the mansion. Such a beautiful, tastefully decorated late 1800s Victorian home. Lovely and so nicely decorated for the holidays. The price for what you get is very decent. Very accommodating and friendly staff. They did a nice job preserving the EJ Robert's family history. The billard room has a neat glassed case mini museum of the Robert's history. Romantic yet fun. Great get-away place! We also went to Browne's Tavern right next to the mansion, same owner. We've been here many times and Browne's Tavern has good food depending on what you order. For example, their omelets and salmon with dill... really good, but the hummus plate and flat iron steak...just okay. Overall, nice menu. Lots to chose from. They have friendly servers and a very neat atmosphere along with decent prices. If you show your room key from the mansion, they will take an additional 10% off your food/alcohol bill. Cheers to both places!

This beautifully restored Victorian Mansion was our best B&B experience yet. The room are tastefully decorated in Victorian antiques. Everything from the claw-footed tub in the bathroom to the ornate chandelier in the dining room made us feel like we had stepped back in time. We would love to come back for one of their Victorian high teas. Every course of the full service breakfast was delicious, especially the dutch babies. The staff was great. Heather, the daughter of the owner, is an excellent cook. She made us feel comfortable and welcome. Looking forward to staying here again.

The house and grounds are magnificent, the service warm but discrete. Items that in name brand properties you get charged for are gratis here, without asking. Bottled water and ice in the fridge, Keurig machine and selection in the room, wonderful home-made short cookies on a plate, chips and breakfast bars in a basket in the room, and the best part, their own breakfast blend of coffee already for you to brew loaded up in the coffee machine. It is so nice to wake up to a flavorful strong cup of coffee in the morning, this makes the stay worth it right there. The beds are big, comfortable with high end linen. The bathrooms are big, huge, with terrycloth robes and Egyptian towels. Wifi is great with very good speed (35Mb/s avg.). I've stayed in three different rooms and all had their own warm personality and classic touches. I really like the Mountain penthouse room with the small private deck. They know I'm a smoker and always have an ashtray out there waiting. When I come in the door I'm welcomed by name. So nice after a long drive or flight. When I walk in I know that I don't have to worry about anything, it's already taken care of.

One of the best features is a fan located in the room that I used since I love to sleep with a fan blowing directly on me at night. What a wonderful stay..

The view from the HUGE porch is lovely. There's tons of common "hang out" space both inside and out. If you play the piano or a string instrument there are instruments for use and that use is encouraged. There are a few friendly cats on the property. I stayed in a room with a shared bathroom (shared with a couple in the next room) and there was never an issue. The bathroom had sinks with toilet and shower in a separate area with a door, so you could brush teeth while someone was showering with no issue. An extra half bath downstairs was helpful too. The decor was eclectic and fun and always something to look at. (One of the owners designed and created most of it himself.) There's wine out in the afternoon/evening and a lovely coffee and tea bar that's VERY well stocked. Breakfast had two time options and is served in individual servings and, in our case, a platter if fruit to pass. The breakfast was a cinnamon roll bread pudding and a veggie and potato frittata with sliced melon on the side. It was delicious and I enjoyed chatting with the other guests over the meal. Beds were comfy and wifi was solid. (I stayed in the three twins room - be aware that the third twin is lifted above the closet and entryway, so it may be cramped for a larger person.) I truly enjoyed my short stay here and will definitely visit again if I'm in the area!
