This B&B is the most fabulous place to stay! A friend and I stayed there earlier this week while on…read morea genealogy road trip, and we ended up staying an extra day. I'd still be there if that was possible. It's a huge house - and there is no sharing with other guests. If you book a stay, for example, for two people - you get the whole house to yourselves! The host and caretaker, Vicki Broekel, comes in the morning (at a time guests choose) and fixes a real farm breakfast right there in the cheery red and white kitchen with vintage decor. The beds are very comfortable and Vicki keeps the house very clean. The resident cat "Sis" is a welcome presence. A Great Horned Owl lives on the property and he's an amazing sight to see. (Apparently he and Sis have come to some sort of agreement, or she'd have been dinner long ago). The grounds are beautiful and the decor of the home fits with it's character and construction in the early 1900s. Wifi is free and there is excellent cell coverage. The TV is not HD and there are limited channels, but the best view is of the expanse of fields from the front porch swing. Several hundred horses are pastured across the road and it was lots of fun watching them. I just can't wait to go back. This is the kind of B&B that would serve as a perfect writer's retreat or a getaway with a goal of peace and quiet. Don't expect ongoing touristy "activities" in the area......this is prairie country, for farming and ranching and appreciating the beauty of "nothing but land and sky."

The B&B is historic, quaint & quiet with this B&B -with a modern day flare to it as well. The Host is onsite and attentive to guests, if you need her she's a phone call away and very attentive. The House is "self check in" with information provided when we made our reservation on how to get thru the locks, etc. and was very easy. The House is lovely, with creaks in the wood floors you would anticipate and decorated with artifacts of yesteryear and modern times (games and books available for guests) as it was built in 1908. There are four upstair rooms which share a common bathroom. My wife and I stayed in the Ivy Suite for 3 nights, which had its own private bath including an old fashioned vintage tub with a modern day shower head. I would add: a steep step up into the tub, so probably something to think about if you are challenged with limited mobility issues. Our room had a google device to boost the internet signal which was helpful too! Breakfast was a modern day concept with pour over (local) roast coffee as a plus! Along with coffee there was yogurt, granola, fresh berries, hard boiled eggs, croissants with preserves, bananas, apples, tangerines, a small charcuterie board of sliced meats and cheese, hot tea and iced water. The common areas were well maintained and plenty of places to sit and relax. Overall, the house is comfortable, safe and well landscaped. 10 minute walk to Gonzaga, but nicely situated to local restaurants too. A nice alternative to the brand name hotels for a more quiet and relaxing experience.

Such a beautiful, tastefully decorated late 1800s Victorian home. Lovely and so nicely decorated for the holidays. The price for what you get is very decent. Very accommodating and friendly staff. They did a nice job preserving the EJ Robert's family history. The billard room has a neat glassed case mini museum of the Robert's history. Romantic yet fun. Great get-away place! We also went to Browne's Tavern right next to the mansion, same owner. We've been here many times and Browne's Tavern has good food depending on what you order. For example, their omelets and salmon with dill... really good, but the hummus plate and flat iron steak...just okay. Overall, nice menu. Lots to chose from. They have friendly servers and a very neat atmosphere along with decent prices. If you show your room key from the mansion, they will take an additional 10% off your food/alcohol bill. Cheers to both places!

This beautifully restored Victorian Mansion was our best B&B experience yet. The room are tastefully decorated in Victorian antiques. Everything from the claw-footed tub in the bathroom to the ornate chandelier in the dining room made us feel like we had stepped back in time. We would love to come back for one of their Victorian high teas. Every course of the full service breakfast was delicious, especially the dutch babies. The staff was great. Heather, the daughter of the owner, is an excellent cook. She made us feel comfortable and welcome. Looking forward to staying here again.

It's hard for me to review the hotel beyond the amazing jacuzzi, but there's a full breakfast to be had, comfy bed, nice fan - normally those are really the only 3 things I'm looking for, but JACUZZI! Sorry, it's hard to look past that. But that was really the focus of my stay, so that's what I'm sticking to. And so with all that, why only 4 stars? Because it was really small and cramped. I love being in a jacuzzi, but only when I can sit normally. Half my body was out of water - this guy's too shallow and not the complex tub shape where you can sit on the side, only wedge yourself on the bottom and fold your legs awkwardly. I did my best in there. And it's great to have, and since 99% of people won't be staying here with a jacuzzi (your loss), I want to focus on the hotel itself. A strong 4 stars, but not quite 5. Brian H's 3/4/22 review matches what I think, and he gave it 4, so there you go.

My wife overheard the manager complaining loudly to another employee about it and said she would charge us 10 bucks. While checking out, I asked for an itemized receipt to check if she charged us for it. She did. Upon questioning the manager, she snarkily replied that "I should watch my kids more closely" and "this is our policy." I travel a lot for work and have stayed at a variety of hotels. None of them have ever charged if a plate is broken. Second of all, if you are operating on such a shoestring budget that you can't absorb a CHILD breaking a plate, you have far bigger issues. Third (and last) of all, if you are so jaded working in hospitality that you are berating people, loudly complaining about your guests in front of them, and just generally have a bad attitude, it's probably time to find another line of work (that doesn't involve interacting with people). It sucks because this place was actually pretty nice until the manager had to act the fool. Replace her ASAP and save your business!
