My company has a plant in Newport that I need to visit a few times a year. This is my fourth stay at the Inn at the Lake. There is nothing to compare with in the area. The house and grounds are magnificent, the service warm but discrete. Items that in name brand properties you get charged for are gratis here, without asking. Bottled water and ice in the fridge, Keurig machine and selection in the room, wonderful home-made short cookies on a plate, chips and breakfast bars in a basket in the room, and the best part, their own breakfast blend of coffee already for you to brew loaded up in the coffee machine. It is so nice to wake up to a flavorful strong cup of coffee in the morning, this makes the stay worth it right there. The beds are big, comfortable with high end linen. The bathrooms are big, huge, with terrycloth robes and Egyptian towels. Wifi is great with very good speed (35Mb/s avg.). I've stayed in three different rooms and all had their own warm personality and classic touches. I really like the Mountain penthouse room with the small private deck. They know I'm a smoker and always have an ashtray out there waiting. When I come in the door I'm welcomed by name. So nice after a long drive or flight. When I walk in I know that I don't have to worry about anything, it's already taken care of. read more

WOW!!! This place is gorgeous! My husband had some business up in Newport so we decided to go up and stay the night at this bed and breakfast on the lake. The house is gorgeous and each suite is unique and spacious and comfortable. We felt at home sitting on the luxurious couch in the main living room in front of the fireplace with a view of the lake behind us. They had a Keurig machine with different kinds of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/hot cider to choose from. That was my my first experience using a Keurig and I had so much fun trying different kinds of coffee and tea and having it hot and ready within seconds. I enjoyed taking a hot cup of coffee and sitting in the gorgeous living room and just relaxing with my husband. They have 3 levels and you are welcome to hang out in the common areas on any floor. There are DVDs to watch and cable TV in each suite. I loved the huge tub with the jets in our suite--I took 2 long baths and we were only there one night. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining area with views of the lake. We had several courses--the first being a delicious fruit salad with pudding and a coconut sprinkle on top. The little shortbread bar with strawberries on top was delicious. The main dish was a french toast/bread pudding type of deal with blueberries and was warm and delicious. They refilled our juice and coffees as needed and were very courteous. I plan on going back to stay here in the summer so I can experience staying there in warmer weather. If you want a nice relaxing weekend away from home I highly recommend this place!! You will not regret staying here! P.S. We stayed in the River Suite--it was spacious and comfortable. Next time I'd like to stay in another suite that has views of the lake. read more

Disappointed. Planned this little trip for our anniversary and it was not as we expected. After looking through pictures on the website, social media and great reviews this looked like a good place to get away for a night. Easy to find right off the highway. When we arrived as we were walking to the door, the weed odor had already hit us. We were then greeted by a young lady and a stronger weed smell. She started showing us around the house and explaining things. She then took us to the mountain suite, which was very nice but not the room we had booked. After letting her know she checked the reservation and sure enough we booked the island suite. She took us to the island suite to show us around. When we walked in none of the thermostats were on, mind you it's winter time, so the room was probably 50 degrees. The room was nice and spacious, with cute island decor. The downsides to the room were the fact that the shower lights didn't work, the toilet ran all night long, and when the jets in the jacuzzi were turned on some sort of floaters were coming out. The room description said that there was a fireplace and "stocked fridge" which neither were present. In our fridge were two water bottles and a bag of ice, not what we had expected. Their website and social media showed pictures of couples who had gotten champagne and rose petals for their anniversary, a special touch which would've been appreciated. Then the breakfast, from everything we had read online we were promised a "true breakfast in bed experience". Unfortunately, due to the outdoor entrance the host told us we would have to come to the dining room for breakfast since they don't deliver outside during the winter months. So we were confused as to why we spent more on the island suite to have this experience when it wasn't possible. After reading what the typical breakfast was online we were excited to have some delicious food. Instead we were served luke warm sausage, scrambled eggs with ricotta and small bowl with clementines and 3 banana slices. We've been staying at this B&B since it first opened as it has a stunning view of Diamond lake and allows us to visit relatives who live nearby. It had been closed, but is now open again with new owners who made us feel right at home. We stayed for 4 nights in the Mountain Suite located at the top of the stairs with a private deck which views the lake. The four poster king bed with high quality linens makes for a luxurious romantic atmosphere. Jodi inquired about our eating preferences and was happy to serve us vegetarian breakfasts which she brought up to our room on a tray each morning. We had the option of eating with other guests in the breakfast room, but my husband had a cold, so we were glad to eat in the room. This is the perfect spot for honeymooners, celebrating an anniversary or a romantic getaway. read more

Things you should know. This place was a bit disappointing, especially given the great reviews on TripAdvisor. On the plus side, the hostess, Jody was very welcoming. Sadly, the shower was nonexistent. We had a tub with a shower wand that you had to sit down to use and horrible water pressure. Additionally, one of the two sinks was broken and the air freshener was overpowering. The bed was very comfortable! The selling point of this place is the lake. However, the grounds by the water were horribly kept and there was dog poop everywhere. There weren't any lounge chairs by the water and the two uncomfortable chairs on the dock were broken. The multilevel deck had a nice view but again, better furniture would be nice. The biggest thing you should be warned about is there isn't anywhere acceptable to eat for 8 miles!! The boathouse restaurant nearby was disgusting, dirty, and the people there had clearly been waiting a long time for service from the 2 people running the restaurant and store and bar at the same time. Breakfast was tasty and Jody gave us the option of eating in the dining room, our room, or the deck. read more

We had the extreme pleasure of staying at the Inn in July, 2015. We needed to find a place on Diamond Lake for a large family event that took place during a long weekend. We stayed 5 nights, and could not have been more pleased. After such a stay, and even after the first day, Jodi and Wayne felt like family. Their home is beautiful, the rooms large and comfortable, and breakfasts were works of art. We were very busy with family events at other locations during our stay, and would welcome a chance to revisit in order to spend more time at the Inn, down at their beach and dock, and sipping wine on one of the several decks overlooking the lake. We travelled from California, and compared to rates nearer home, the room rates were extremely reasonable. Jodi even offers certain discounts for longer stays such as ours. If you are traveling from afar, or just up the road from Spokane, you will not be disappointed in your stay at this wonderful place. Relax, recharge, meet new friends, and make great memories at the Inn at the Lake. read more

We stayed in the Mountain Penthouse suite. It was comfortable and beautiful and had all the qualities we could possibly ask for. The location is stunning, with a wonderfully clear, clean lake and a dock off of which one can dive or go boating. The hosts were that perfect balance of friendly and professional that is so difficult to find. The breakfasts provided daily were varying in style but not in quality, they were always delicious. read more

Hospitality at its finest! While the beautiful lake view, the simply elegant rooms and the luxurious jacuzzis already allowed my family to have an unforgettable experience, we think that the incomparable service of the staff is what really sets this Bed and Breakfast above the rest. The breakfast in the morning is not your typical complimentary breakfast-- Jody (the chef/co-owner) goes all out. I cannot explain using words how delicious her stuffed french toast is-- it is truly heaven in the form of breakfast. The owners were very accommodating for my family: while in town our car broke down and they offered to drive us to the auto shop. Jody also whipped up some delicious soup and sandwiches for us to eat that night since we were stranded! It was a wonderful place to be stranded! My aunt also had hip problems and had trouble doing stairs, so Jody delivered us our breakfast every morning. I had breakfast in bed the entire stay! This Bed and Breakfast is simply pleasant: all rooms are equipped with jacuzzis and very comfortable beds. The lakefront offers a very stunning sandy beach and swimming around the lake was fun and safe. On top of it all, Jody and her husband are just plain nice people. Their positive attitude made us feel very at home, and by the end of our stay, it felt like we had made 2 new friends! I cannot recommend this Bed and Breakfast enough, the stuffed french toast alone is worth the visit!!!! read more
