Will cooked us up a hotdog, chips, and homemade pickles. Great soda fountain, with the old school counter feel. They have sandwiches, desserts, and of course, ice cream. The hotdogs are damn good. Will is a great entrepreneur and accommodating host too; just a good egg who can carry a decent conversation. Prices are very good for town too. Busy place. In town, so the foot traffic is heavy. The store is usually packed, and they offer a few local type trinkets and the typical CVS kind of stuff. No negatives whatsoever.

The heavyset African-American lady behind the counter, who prepares the food, had a terrible disposition both times. While I understand that people can have bad days, this was beyond that. On my first visit, she was unpleasant and ignored us. On the second visit, she ignored us for about 8 minutes, despite only two other customers being in the restaurant who had already been served. When I finally placed my order for three Moons Over My Hammy, one Barnyard, and two coffees to go, she reconfirmed my order out loud. Later, she denied this, claiming I only ordered two Moons Over My Hammy. While preparing our order, another customer she seemed to know well walked in. She was immediately pleasant and bubbly with this customer, prioritized their order, and served other guests who arrived after us. Despite waiting 20-30 minutes, we never received our coffees. When I asked the male employee working with her about our order, the lady behind the counter developed a nasty attitude and started behaving oddly. I began to suspect she might be doing something spiteful to our food. When we finally got home and I bit into my sandwich, I found a crumpled piece of paper inside. Horrified, I immediately stopped eating and returned to the store, demanding a complete refund. Shockingly, she told me twice to "go f*** myself." She then acted like a victim, complaining to other guests and claiming the paper was stuck between the cheese. I asked how it could have crumbled itself into such a large piece, but she continued to play the victim. This experience was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I will never take my business here again and I live on this island during the summer times full time. I can only imagine how much business she has lost this company because I've seen her act this way with certain people that walk in as well that are not to her liking at first sight.

I only expect that this lifetime will provide me with one single desire to review a store like…read moreCumberland Farms. Why do it? Because on a small island, Cumberland Farms is quite high on the ladder in terms of everything desirable, all behind the grimy door of this well-situated chain store. Get your daily dose of island gossip here, first of all. (They do have some stiff competition in this department with Mocha Mott's around the corner on Main Street and Shirley's Hardware up on State Road.) Lurk around the front door, the side of the building and down near the corner by the post office; you will get all of the up to date news before anyone else. (Note that if you loiter around the side near the fire station, you may get offered some drugs or if it is dark, encounter some whacked out drunks who are not always polite.) Island gossip usually follows the same pathways. It's about people, first and foremost: Who landed in jail last night, who is running for reelection, who caught a big fish, who died. Next- politics and anything related to it. On a small island that means traffic lights, immigration issues, school concerns, the hospital, the Steamship Authority and tourism. If you want local opinions and up to date news stories, hang out here for a bit. As this spot is so close to the ferry, it's often the first or last stop to visit. Coffee, candy, chips, soda and newspapers are hot items. If you like magazines, they have everything- and they are the first place to get People, The National Enquirer and Star Magazine. Once again, Cumby's is the first place on the island to reveal serious dirt, in this case of the Brad and Angelina variety. This is a hard core islander spot, filled with locals of all types. Many of them like to buy their lottery tickets here and by golly, there have been some big winners over the years. Some guys show up every day to play the numbers. You'll get familiar with them if you pick up this habit. Cumby's is open late so the island kids who are out driving around the island looking for something to do generally end up here for some junk food before going home. It is very busy just before closing time and most people at that hour are very drunk or very high- or both. The staff has been here forever and they each have their own distinct style. They are very happy to be working here and treat you with respect and a certain wary tenderness. If you show up a few times and smile, they will appreciate you and smile back, but it takes some time. I'm sure they have dealt with some bizarre situations over the years. Cumby's is really one of the island's greatest spots, given its hours, its location and its ability to attract all kinds of people. Yes, it's grungy, slimy and sells a lot of crappy junk food at prices which will make you recoil, but there's just something so welcoming and funky about this place that I have to review it and have to give it four stars.

When I received the notification about getting the flu vaccine, I didn't think twice about getting the vaccine at my local CVS. I've previously gotten vaccines here before and always had a great experience. I scheduled the flu vaccine appointment on CVS's website. It was very easy to use and there were plenty of dates and times available. I received a confirmation email after scheduling and a few reminders as well about the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I received another reminder and a link to check in when I arrive at CVS. I checked in and I went to the pharmacy counter to inform them I was here for my flu vaccine. I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes till Gary introduced himself and bought me to the vaccination area. It was a quick process. Other times I had gotten vaccines, the employees would give me vaccine information statements and close the door. This time that didn't happen. CVS emailed me later that a new vaccination record is on my health dashboard. I submitted a copy of the record to my workplace and I have completed the requirement. No problems at all and such an easy process. I would recommend CVS Pharmacy to a friend or family member.
