My wife and I spent our week-long on ACK in early June '25, and we are proud to say we were the first customers at the counter grill. Will cooked us up a hotdog, chips, and homemade pickles. Great soda fountain, with the old school counter feel. They have sandwiches, desserts, and of course, ice cream. The hotdogs are damn good. Will is a great entrepreneur and accommodating host too; just a good egg who can carry a decent conversation. Prices are very good for town too. Busy place. In town, so the foot traffic is heavy. The store is usually packed, and they offer a few local type trinkets and the typical CVS kind of stuff. No negatives whatsoever. read more

I paid $4 for a totally flat fountain soda. I love a fountain soda if it isn't flat but this was so flat I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. I said something to the woman behind the counter who poured it and she looked at me with an incredulous face. The manager overheard and offered me the option to get a diet coke can and put it into a cup with ice. That was a good solve and was appreciated it, but at a place where fountain sodas are one of their key offerings you would not expect the sodas to be flat. read more

Today was my second attempt to grab breakfast here, despite a bad experience the first time. Unfortunately, this visit was even worse. The heavyset African-American lady behind the counter, who prepares the food, had a terrible disposition both times. While I understand that people can have bad days, this was beyond that. On my first visit, she was unpleasant and ignored us. On the second visit, she ignored us for about 8 minutes, despite only two other customers being in the restaurant who had already been served. When I finally placed my order for three Moons Over My Hammy, one Barnyard, and two coffees to go, she reconfirmed my order out loud. Later, she denied this, claiming I only ordered two Moons Over My Hammy. While preparing our order, another customer she seemed to know well walked in. She was immediately pleasant and bubbly with this customer, prioritized their order, and served other guests who arrived after us. Despite waiting 20-30 minutes, we never received our coffees. When I asked the male employee working with her about our order, the lady behind the counter developed a nasty attitude and started behaving oddly. I began to suspect she might be doing something spiteful to our food. When we finally got home and I bit into my sandwich, I found a crumpled piece of paper inside. Horrified, I immediately stopped eating and returned to the store, demanding a complete refund. Shockingly, she told me twice to "go f*** myself." She then acted like a victim, complaining to other guests and claiming the paper was stuck between the cheese. I asked how it could have crumbled itself into such a large piece, but she continued to play the victim. This experience was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I will never take my business here again and I live on this island during the summer times full time. I can only imagine how much business she has lost this company because I've seen her act this way with certain people that walk in as well that are not to her liking at first sight. read more

I asked directions and ended up at this drug store. The pharmacy was in back with a luncheon counter on the side. I was looking for suntan lotion and a razor. I always forget something to when I am traveling. The place was clean despite the foot traffic. The prices seemed reasonable given that it was on an island where everything had to be shipped in. I would go again if I ever needed something while in Nantucket. read more

As everything these days seem to be, this one time legenday " lunch counter" has changed hands & baby it aint for the better. Taking into account all the changes that must be made for the covo19, this place has been stripped of all retro charm. Forget the menu, because what was the home of the best BLT on the island, muffins, ice/ cream etc. is now @ EXORBITANT prices. Im still in shock over the ( once $6.50) BLT I just ordered and was told it was $12.00! for a BLT @ a lunch counter!!! The Lobster Roll is $28.00.... @ aLUNCH COUNTER!!! Ps: I almost took the BLT back, it was the worst I ever had. It had 2 ( I kid you not) pieces of bacon & to add insult to injury ,the young lady who took my order asked me if I wanted lettuce & tomato on this BLT ...... Need I say more. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. One kept lifting up his shorts and scratching his inner thigh, the girl dumped a full trash can into a larger full trash can then went back to handling money and food in her nasty gloves. We have been getting ice cream sodas and egg creams here for years. It is definitely light on the pharmacy side - unless you need a script. Their toiletries selection is not huge. The egg creams are hit or miss. Sometimes great, sometimes too heavy on the seltzer water. Then again, I am from NY and egg creams are an art here. Proportions are everything. Why does this place only have 8 reviews?! Whenever my family comes to Nantucket this is a must visit location for frappes (milkshakes, but they insist on calling them frappes). The frappes are huge, delicious, thick, and on Nantucket a steal at $6. The line is never too long. The staff is super friendly. You can choose whatever ice cream (or combo) you want. The frappes always come in to go cups so you can take them and continue on your walk around town. This is a cash only establishment so come prepared. read more

AMAZING PLACE! They have an old fashioned soda fountain that is wonderful. They have cheese sandwiches and ice cream and all sorts of amazing counter fast-food. This place has everything you need and more! I wish I had gotten a breakfast sandwich here but I unknowingly passed on it. The ice cream/coffee/breakfast counter is so cute! Yay for 1940s nostalgia even though I've never set timefoot in the actual '40s! Pop through the swingin' screen door to find a lunch counter on the left, and random toys/sunscreens on the right. We ordered two giant frappes ($5.50 + 50¢ for malt) and spent the few minutes waiting perusing the playthings, birthday cards, sundries, baby hygienic products and actual functional pharmacy space. The food prep is likely managed by 'Tucket teens, so expect some shortcuts, ie our shakes were blended in paper cups instead of the tins (yargh!), but they were rich and thick and hand-scooped and way too much to finish. See also: the perfect amount. And reasonably priced, like their $4-6 sandwiches as noted by handwrit signage. If you're willing to forgo the flair and sophistication of most other eateries in favor of dirty water dogs and ice cream sodas at non-tourist prices, fly by the Nantucket Pharmacy and (a) wax nostalgiac, or (b) watch your grandparents wax nostalgic. The Frappes are the best I've had on Nantucket! You choose your ice cream (and can go with ice cream combos if you'd like) which is scooped and blended up with milk and your choice of syrup. Reasonably priced for the island and delicious after a sunny day on the beach! read more

Great pharmacy with historic charm. When you first walk in, it feels like you've traveled back in time. There is a soda fountain with leather swivel chairs just like the '50s. They sell everything from ice cream cones and frappes, to the best tuna melts on the island. As you continue past the lunch counter there are a few aisles filled with the essential drug store merchandise. All the way in the back are the pharmacists! They are so kind and truly care for all of their customers. They go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of their customers and really try to help people as much as they can. read more

I have been a big time fan of the pharmacy there grilled cheeses are spectacular. That being said the staff is out of control I called in hope to order a bunch of sandwiches but apparently that is not " following procedure".
