It's a shame you don't have any control over who 1800Flowers.com uses as their local florists. They get 1 star because the flowers DID make it back to my recipient, and they were pretty (though smaller than expected for a "large" bouquet). The customer service, phone etiquette, and delivery "policies" need some major improvement. The delivery guy called while driving away to say he couldn't "get into the building." My recipient was home, said she called back 2 minutes later and offered to come out to the street since he was having such a difficult time (note: this isn't an apartment or business complex...it's a house on a main street..with an unlocked front yard fence). He said to call the shop. I called the shop and was put on hold and then hung up on twice (I'm hoping accidentally) before being able to have a conversation about the flowers. All I got was "we'll try again tomorrow. Our drivers don't 'go back'." Or she offered to make an entire new bouquet and I could come pick it up and deliver it myself (which I could have done in the first place if I didn't want it delivered). I'd paid $5.99 extra to have the flowers delivered on that specific day and the woman not only argued with me about it ("well, I don't see that you paid anything extra"), but she lectured me about how her drivers weren't flexible because mine weren't the only flowers to be delivered, the drivers "only make 2 dollars a delivery...if he comes back, he doesn't get anything extra," and "this isn't our bad" and that they would "try again tomorrow." It wasn't until I asked for a refund, since I needed the flowers that specific day, that she involved her manager and got the delivery guy to turn around, but said I should give him $5 for gas. WHAT?! Seems like for a business meant to brighten people's days, this florist has done a lot more damage than good if the other reviews and my experience are any indication. "Try a little harder" is my recommendation to this business. If someone doesn't answer the door in 10 seconds, don't rush away and then fight about delivery policies and create not only more work for yourself (coming back tomorrow costs more than coming back today when you're a mile away), but also a horrible customer experience along the way. I plan to contact #1800flowers to provide a similar review and hopefully they can find a better local florist to work with. read more

I have no clue how this place is still here. I wanted to buy my pregnant fiancé some flowers because she was having a crappy day & decided to give this place a shot. The "pick your own flowers" section was pretty much empty. The pre-built arrangements were EXPEEEENSIVE for the wilted offerings that they were, and the lady behind the counter didn't even look up at me as I wandered around aimlessly trying to find something that wasn't wilted and/or severely overpriced. read more

For Valentine Day I bought my wife a $70.00 flower arrangement that came in a vase. Before I made the purchase I commented to the florist that the flowers I had been buying in the supermarkets and home centers were very disappointing as they lasted only two days. She assured me that Conroy's were better. When I went to pick up the flowers on Valentine Day, they were already drooping. I asked them to change the flowers and they did although the replacements weren't much better. Actually the flowers from the markets and from Trader Joe's all lasted longer and were 1/10th of the price. I will never purchase another flower from this place and I warn all of you out there to shop elsewhere for floral needs. I should have checked Yelp first. I ordered a LARGE bouquet through 1800flowers, which set me back 95 bucks. The florist they used to fill the order was Conroys. Now, I send flowers about 5 times a year and these are the worst flowers I've seen. They were delivered late in the evening and with no water in the vase. This place is my go-to flower shop. It's so convenient right on the corner. The employees were so friendly and made sure I was satisfied. They definitely went the extra mile. I should have listened to my gut and just gone to the supermarket to get a $12.99 bouquet. "They will be as pretty, if not as neatly wrapped," my subconscious said. Needless to say, I didn't listen. I came in here around 10 a.m. on a Saturday. There was one other couple in the place and 4 employees behind the counter. I was greeted promptly and was assisted in the pick-your-own-flowers (sold by the stem) bouquet thing. For the hassle, I should have just picked an arrangement from the case. I am not a florist, which is why I came to the florist. And there I was, having to pick out my own flowers. The flowers were pretty enough but $2-$3 a stem is a racket. I picked 2 star gazer lilies, some carnations, and Peruvian lilies. Add in some filler greens and baby's breath (*gag*) and the cost was $25. Seriously? They sell 2 dozen roses for around $20, but this simple bouquet was $25. I was kicking myself at this point. So, my bouquet is ready and I need to pay... so I wait. Apparently, only 1 of the 4 employees knew how to use the cash register. So, I wait for the employee who is prepping a bouquet of roses for the other couple in the store. (Cause, you know, none of the other employees could do that.) I wait for at least 7-8 minutes and, when she is finally done with the other couple, she rings up the other purchase before me. Hello?! I was waiting. At this point, I had been waiting to pay for longer than it took to put together the bouquet. Then, as I hand my card over, she asks for my ID. On another day I might have let it slide, but the Mastercard is signed on the back and their merchant policy clearly states that ID cannot be a condition of completing a purchase. So, I tell Kathleen S. this, at which point she scowls at me and completely shuts off. She was pissed at me! Hate to tell you this, Kathleen S., but no wonder flower stores are a dying breed. It's because of customer service and bad attitudes like yours. If I had purchased the same thing online at 1-800-Flowers, I wouldn't have had to put up with your crappy service, your attidue, or showing my ID. Never, never again! read more

I came in here to buy a Corsage for my Winter Formal date. When I got it, it was really nice. After an hour of my date wearing the corsage one of the flowers fell off. By the end of the night there was nothing on it, but the ribbon. I payed $21.99 for the corsage. I called and complained to them the next day and got a full refund. read more

I came in with a last minute request and although pricy the ladies working were helpful and the bouquets they made turned out beautifully. The selection at the last second is not the best but that's because most of the time they will order in what they need as needed. It's pointless to keep around a bunch of cut flowers that are just going to die. Ordered a dozen roses for my girlfriend and I's year anniversary. The order arrived on time but with only ten roses. They get three stars for prompt delivery but I would suggest for future orders that you ensure the correct number of flowers are present. Unfortunately for my part, I reasonably assumed the correct number of flowers were there until awhile after the delivery person had left. Seriously guys. Just have to count to twelve. I'm not trying to be mean but twelve is what I paid for and it had a special significance that was lost when there were only ten. Kind of ruined that aspect of my plan. I just received flowers for my birthday that a friend ordered for me. These were the worst flowers I have ever seen! Almost all the roses were old and brown, and the leaves all had dirt on them. When I called to complain, they said, "oh, they just came off the truck." Well, I guess so! You would think they could have washed the leaves first and then checked and removed all the old roses. Terrible!!! I have asked my friend to get a refund!! I am never going to Conroy's for flowers, and am hopeful that my friend can get his money back. This is when the weather had been in the 90s. 1.5 beautiful dozen roses were delivered to my work late in the day and stayed in the air conditioned building till the end of the week. This order was placed over the phone by my fabulous husband. Once home they died a quick and painless death due to the heat. Google search told me that roses should last 4 - 12 days if you cut them under water daily and add that special packet of nutrients, which I did just once. Rude. I was looking for single strand orchid leis for my boys. The conroys in Lakewood didn't have any and they called this one to see if they did. They said they had them and they were $29. I drove over and the woman said they didn't have any. I told her we had just called from the other conroys, and she snapped, "this isn't a franchise. We don't work together." then she tried to sell me a double strand. I said no. Then she flicked her hand and said, "there are singles in the case. Pick what you want." and walked away. She lied and was rude to a customer. If you want to be treated well, go to the conroys on Lakewood blvd and Carson. They are nice and put the customer first. read more

I was rushing to get something beautiful for my boyfriend's daughter's birthday it's around the holiday times and I tried to get there as fast as I could sitting through traffic and stressing they were the only flower shop open late that's what I like I got there about 5 minutes to close and was trying to select something really quick to help them out I was greeted extremely rude by a short darker Latina lady with gray hair whose immediate response was were closed so you have to pick something from the fridgerator no friendly greeting whatsoever there was another lady there a white lady with short hair who was extremely helpful and really did her best to try and find me something nice for my boyfriend's daughter. As she was helping select something for me Lindsey and I made sure to get her name yells I've dropped for tonight so there will be no cash transactions I said all I have is cash I got a roll of the eyes and then I guess I'll drop again so instead of buying some flowers that I was rushed to get I decided that they will lose my business any future business and any of my family's business for as poorly as I was treated. I understand I was coming in before they closed I understand customer service and how stressful it can be when you're closing to have a last-minute customer but I also understand that it is the holiday season and that it's very hectic and frantic and people are trying to shop and purchase the right items for their loved ones I want it all I wanted to do was make my boyfriend's daughter very special by buying her a beautiful bouquet and because of Lindsey and the other associate I was not able to do that unfortunately at Conroy and I had to find another flower vendor. Because of this you lost my purchase and probably a lot of money in the future because I have an extremely big networking group and we were are always looking for different vendors for different things and different occasions. So I wanted to follow up on my experience with this vendor. I decided to up my review to 2 stars because 1-800-flowers took care of my Valentines fiasco. After my valentines was ruined due to late delivery of my flowers. I filed a complained with the vendor and they replied within 48 hours via email. They did apologize for the mishap and issue me a full refund no questions asked. So that was very gracious of them considering my delivery got there after my partners work day and the $194 bouquet he got, looked nothing like the bouquet that was advertise. However, this is the second time this happens and I cant no longer take a risk like this. It was very sad to hear that my partner got his flowers after everyone left and he didn't get to share with co workers. While im gracefull that the vendor refunded the money in full, you can't take back what happened and that special moment I wanted to create cant never be restored. read more

Never order from 1800 flowers. A friend of mine ordered flowers to be delivered on Valentine's Day and the flowers not delivered. Contacted 1800 flowers and they apologized and stated that the flowers would be delivered the next day, and were not. I did get the flowers on February 17, 2018, which looked like they were left in the back of a delivery van, for days, all wilted and needed to be thrown out, Emailing customer service all this time from February 15, 2018 to now. They constantly apologize and stated they would be sending a second set of flowers along with a discount coupon, which never came. (I wanted them to give my friend a full refund, but they refused.) My friend paid $50, for frankly a really cheesy arrangement that I eventually received. Don't buy into the 100% smile guarantee. This company is not honest, poor quality, bad customer services, and rips people off, especially on special occasions. read more

Negative stars!!! I ordered flowers a week ago for delivery today....they never showed up! I had my girlfriend stay late as they said they would be delivered by 4pm, she left after 5 with no flowers. I went to the shop to complain, along with another customer whose wife didn't get her flowers either. They told me they sent the order to another store but couldn't tell me which one. There was no record of my order with 1-800 FLOWERS and no way to track my order. A little advice: Don't put a brand new person on the order phone the day before Valentine's Day. I have the patience but...it took a long time to get this order done and I was hung up on 3/4 of the way through it. It has been a number of months ago, but my complaint ended in treatment that has made me a fan of this particular Conroy's. My good friend's father had died, and I ordered at Conroy's by specifying my purchase . I pointed out the pre-made arrangement in the cooler. The saleslady said she'd send that one but would add a few flowers. At the memorial, the widow pointed out an arrangement in the vase I had ordered. Virtually none of the flowers I had seen were in it. Different colors,etc. The vase, however, was the same.. I left a message for the manager while still at the service. Within minutes, she, the manager called( Kathy?) from home. Because it was still an attractive arrangement but NOT what I ordered, I was willing to pay but at some fair discount. Not only did the manager treat me with an apology and patience, months later my accountant discovered that she had refunded my entire payment. It was not necessary, but I recognize the effort to make a customer happy and to 'right a small wrong'. If all business were so responsive , we'd be lucky indeed. From looking at the reviews on here it's apparent that the owner has a trend of hiring people with bad attitudes. Had to deal with worst attitude ever just while taking my order over the phone and I was spending around $120! So, i canceled the order and went with the Conroy's on Lakewood Blvd ( just a few miles away) and they were a dream! Don't use this Conroy's, there are several others in the area that are WAY better! read more
