I used to get the same scripted answer from other places: "How much do you want for this?" You name your price and they practically laugh at you and tell you you're not being reasonable. So they offer half of your asking price. Upon further inspection, they say they have to call their [ non-existent manager ] for approval. Then come back to say that they can only buy your piece for 1/3rd or less. They pick at any reason to make you believe your piece is nearly worthless. They tell you that you're getting a great deal. When you are not. Irene is kind, straight forward and upfront. No judgment or belittling. Either the shop can buy it or not. Irene has often redirected me to other shops who bought my items.
