    Blackberry Bourbon Smash

Wonderful service and delicious drinks. Several large screens playing the latest sports games with music in the background, great atmosphere for hanging out. Highly recommend the Blackberry Bourbon Smash!

The Conservatory at the Galt House is located in the atrium, which is the bridge that connects the two towers. It is a full bar with a few featured cocktails and the atrium itself has plenty of seating. Some come to watch the large TV screens (especially sports games) while others relax in the wingback chairs nears the windows. At night the windows light up to create a vibe for those inside and outside looking in. Like most bars, the Conservatory has 2-3 bartenders taking care of the crowd so you'll need to be patient as you wait to order. Last call occurred around 11:30p on a Saturday evening, which took us by surprise. That's early for Louisville. We sat for another hour enjoying our drinks and watching the team wipe down the tables. No food is available here; however, private party events that are catered can be scheduled. The Conservatory offers a nice option for those not wanting to leave the hotel for a cocktail - or someone who needs a more exciting view than their room or the lobby. ** side note: the atrium also hosts guests throughout the day and there's a small grill available for snacks, drinks, coffee, etc.

We went up to the Conservatory Bar after a Saturday afternoon tour at Evan Williams. We were able to find a high top table for our group of 6 and grabbed cocktails from the bar. I chose a blackberry concoction which the bar was out of, but they were able to substitute blueberries instead. Either way, it tasted great! The bar offers scenic views of the river as well as the street below. It sits in the atrium between the two towers of the Galt House hotel. I can't say anything super "special" about this bar but it seems to serve its purpose as a stop along the way to your next activity. It reminded me of an airport bar without the booming loudspeaker announcing gate changes!

We always have a list of must visit list in Louisville, and this is perfect break in the middle to sit down and exhale while regrouping. The first time we wandered in it wasn't even open yet, but we knew it would be the perfect place for a bloody Mary while resting the "dogs" and taking in the river view. It didn't disappoint. We were told to sit at the aquarium bar, but we opted for a table with the river view. We are all about the river view. Make no mistake, this is a romantic place. Needed to soak up the alcohol, so went for a lite bite of pimento cheese. So odd yet good...chopped tomatoes, bread and butter pickles and pickled onions. I don't even like onions, but these caused me to come home and make some! . So..mif you need a break or even just a cocktail in Louisville, find your way here. You can thank me later. Cheers!

This is a nice, casual setting. I really liked the aquarium bar top, and the big bird cage. Unique touches!

Knock off early from work? Great place to have a quiet cocktail and people watch in the afternoon.

Black Rabbit has a really cool atmosphere. We visited on a Thursday evening for live jazz,…read morecocktails, and appetizers, and the vibe made for a great night out. The lounge seating setup was a little unconventional, but the staff quickly accommodated us when I mentioned a concern, which I really appreciated. The service was outstanding. I wish I could remember our server's name because he truly made the experience. He handled the entire lounge area by himself and never missed a beat -- personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly efficient. We ordered a few cocktails along with the hush puppies, Cajun calamari, and Brussels sprouts. The drinks were fantastic, and while the appetizers were good, they weren't quite memorable enough for us to reorder next time. That said, we're definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend checking out Black Rabbit for yourself. It's a great spot for either a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends.

Since this restaurant has a speakeasy vibe, I thought it might be part of the schtick. However, I'm not sure how long the business has been open, so maybe the GPS was accurate. Our dinner host who made the reservation had told our group the "password" in order to be taken to our private dining room. When I arrived and approached the hostess stand, she took me via a convoluted route to the rest of the diners, no password required. I guess I was lucky because other diners in our group said they had to provide the password. We arrived during happy hour and it was also martini night, so several items from the appetizer menu (wings, spinach dip, tempura shrimp) and cocktail list were available for reduced price. I ordered tempura shrimp (5 pieces) and a glass of Malbec. The shrimp were bland and were served with a sweet chili sauce that was cloyingly sweet with absolutely no heat. I ended up ordering a bourbon roasted pear salad as my main. It was a better choice with buttery lettuce, chunks of firm pear, crunchy walnuts, and pickled red onions. One of my fellow diners had to wait for her first course appetizer to arrive well after the rest of us had finished ours, as it was either overlooked by waitstaff or the kitchen. Service was slow at times, although the place appeared at not even 1/2 capacity when we arrived and possibly 2/3 when we left 2 hours later. Another diner ordered pizza and said that the toppings were good, but commented that the texture of the crust (underdone) made it unpalatable. Finally, another person in our group had to send her food back to be heated. She indicated the plate was warm, but the food (pot roast Manhattan) was not. Final bill was just under $50 (happy hour shrimp $10, wine $11, salad $18, and an automatic 20% gratuity had been added). Upon reflection, I would perhaps return here for a cocktail to enjoy the lounge and live jazz when that is offered. I would be very hard pressed though to order any food, as there are many more valuable and appealing options nearby at this price point.

I appreciated the amount of space, and there were even a few tables outside. Bar seating, table seating, couch seating... I think I peeped a small room in the back too... all the options! When I was there, it was mostly empty, but people did come in and out. It was easy to tell who the visitors and regulars were haha. I enjoyed just hanging out, people watching, and chatting with the friendly bartenders. They have cocktails and mocktails in abundance... there's literally something for everyone. And they even had these chocolate shot glasses. So cool! All in all, the place just seems like a perfect neighborhood bar. They don't have food, but there's plenty of options around to bring in there. Music was great too!

The originally cocktail I ordered didn't satisfy me like I'd hope and the ladies were kind enough to make me something different, so I opted with my favorite - a spicy margarita with mezcal a few extra dashes of hot sauce! I was very satisfied with that one and would probably come back again next time we're in town!
