I don't have many issues with my bills. I understand that my bills are an estimate based on how many tenants are in my building each month. However for the past two months, I've received bills PRIOR to the end of the service period. So I called and asked how they were able to email me a bill on 1/30/19 when the bill clearly states that it's for the "service period" of 1/1/19-1/31/19. After being put on hold for a few minutes the rep came back with some jumbo about local laws and although my bills says service period of 1/1/19-1/31/19 I'm REALLY being billed for December's service. Ummm, I've had utility bills DIRECTLY from the city before I moved into this complex and they never billed me before the service period was up and their bills always clearly stated the time period that I was being charged for. I'm pretty sure that the "city laws requires us to put something...blah blah blah" was just a made up thing because it makes zero sense to me. On the second page of my bill it DOES state that this bill is "using the service provider bills issued most recently prior to the first of the month of this statement." So why doesn't the service period reflect that it's really from 12/1/18-12/31/18? It's all weird. read more

This company operates on a scale that is disgusting at best and criminal at worst. After they took over my apartment complex due to a management change, they had to "estimate" what our bills would be. Their so-called estimate was notably higher than any bill I had previously received and when inquired about it, it took me and my complex's office management hours of combined effort to admit their fault and note that we would receive a refund once sub-metering began, and they could make a proper estimate. Well we finally got a full bill with proper sub-metering and it was a full 42% lower than we had been paying. They are now refusing to give a refund. They are probably impossible to switch from for most of their customers, but if you have any ability to, please avoid this garbage company or any apartment complex that utilizes them. 0 Stars. read more

I would echo everyone's sentiments on this platforms. This company has the worst form of billing I have ever seen. I recently rented a 1 bedroom apartment in Dublin, CA and I was served a trash bill for 50$ for my first full month in this community. I am the only person in the household and I have a travel job where I am out at least 50% of the days in a month. I would at the max maybe throw trash out (1 bag) every weekend and I am being very liberal with my estimate. Why am I being charged some exorbitant amount for trash? Their site says the following - "Trash Trash service is provided by Amador Valley Industries and Terra Pacific Waste Management. Service provider issues bill, amount is divided equally by number of units." I came from another rental and before that owned my own home for 20 years and I have never paid as much as they charge on any home. When I called to have it explained the customer service was rude and kept interrupting me as I was trying to ask questions. I asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for 35 minutes. I will say the Supervisor was much more pleasant but still could not explain why my Multiplier for Sewage was 4 times my water usage. I have a friend who lives across the street, not run by this company who pays less then half what I am paying. In addition, $5.00 a month just to put the bill together and I was also hit with Vacant fees because it took my utility company 3 days to do the change over. CONService is a bunch of scam artists with unfair practices to simplify their work. They take my apartment community's entire W/S/G base charges and divide it by the number of apartments, not the number of occupants. So I'm paying the same W/S/G as one occupant of an apartment that the seven occupant apartment is paying. They overcharge me, then charge me $3 or something every month for their services, then charge me $3 to pay my bill electronically. I had never heard of this joke of a company until I moved out of state, and now I will avoid every apartment community that uses their "services". Would give them ZERO stars if I could. Filed a BBB complaint, too. Conservice's response is bogus. I am adding: Understanding your BS policies won't save me any money when I pay the minimum every month. My problem here is my base charges that are a total fraud. You are billing me "base" charges calculated by the entire apartment community's utility services, not the utility services to my apartment. In addition, you are billing me around $31 for water, and almost $70 for sewer. Per the City of ***, where I reside, sewer is to be charged at a rate of 1.55 times per water. Saying I use the entire bogus 'base' charge of water (which I don't), that brings my sewer to $46.50 not $70. Your company is a legitimate scam. I am looking into my options with the Tenant's Union, an attorney and small claims. I am to be 100% submetered for water and sewer per my lease agreement for my utilities. Charging me that base charge is not indicative of submetering. The only way you're getting off the hook for this one is by sending me the monthly bill for my exact unit and proving that you're billing me what you were billed for my unit by the City of ***. I've had the great displeasure of having to use Conservice for the past four years. Conservice has the worst customer service of any company I have ever called. They are rude and unhelpful, especially the staff with higher positions. They're not open the weekend so it makes it even harder to contact them. The way they bill the utilities is super sketchy and they charge a relatively high service charge for having a computer do a simple division problem. I'd happily divide the bill myself for any apartment complex for free. I'd recommend living in a community that doesn't use this scam of a business. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. Conservice overcharged us for electricity by almost $200 back in December. I made them aware of this error, which they acknowledged. However, they still removed the extra funds from our our leasing portal. Since that time, I have spoken with at least 5 different people. All have assured me that the credit has been sent to our leasing office, and they have even given me dates that supposedly took place. Our leasing office has not received any notification of credit to be applied to our portal. Every time I call back to tell them this, they admit it hasn't really happened. They can obviously communicate with our leasing office, because Conservice has continued to bill us each month, removing even more money from our portal. The ACTUAL electric company shows us with a zero balance as a result of the overpayment. The last time I called, I spoke with two representatives, Adrian and Alexander. BOTH assured me they would personally see to it that my credit was applied within 3-5 business days and that they would email me back. They were not the first to make this promise. That time has now passed, yet again, with no contact and no credit. I called again today, since neither man followed up. Guess what...same story yet again. I am tired of dealing with the lies and tired of them continuing to bill me when they know they owe us money. This company is the worst! Our apartment complex contracted with them to start charging for monthly water usage which we never paid for before. The monthly charges are all over the place and the bill goes by how many residents live in each apartment so therefore it makes no difference if you shower for a few minutes or a long time. My wife called today and was on hold for 40 minutes and to avoid a late charge gave them a phone check which was out of our account in minutes. Before I get into my review, I'd like to note that their name is a befitting pun for their operations. CONservice... that basically describes the entirety of their operations. If I could give them a one star review, I would. At the outset, getting them to answer their phones is challenging in and of itself. Their exorbitant fees they assess as a means of taking advantage of the uniformed should be returned to those that spend hours trying to get in touch with them. This company epitomizes the worst in corporate culture. Their practices are akin to the practices of banks levying "poor taxes" on their customers. I just moved to Phildelphia as a student, and I was never informed of the need to set up my own electricity with PECO. The lease did not do a good job of clearly articulating my need to do so. So after a month of barely using my electricity, half of which I spent outside of my 1 bedroom apartment, I get a bill for $110. They assessed a $75 fee for my lack of knowledge regarding setting up my electricity. Did they shut the electricity off? Did anybody try to contact me? No, they just decided to assess the $75 "vacant fee" to my account. The entirety of the company is unnecessary and an inefficiency in our economy. They syphon money from the ignorant and poor. I am renting a beautiful apartment in downtown Omaha. Its pretty amazing but they use Conservice. When I transferred to a different apartment come fall in the same building, they are charging me more a full months of electric past the date I moved out and disconnected service at the old apartment. Now, I have already paid the bill from my electric provider and conservice wants to charge me past the date of move out? I think not!! I hope my management company comes to their senses here pretty quick and realizes if they value their tenants they won't use these cons for their water readings. They never wrote the lease up until the 1st despite me asking them several times. When I finally got time to sign the lease I get a bill from you for an enormous amount and for month-to-month. My water bill was twice as much. Why? You told me that the leasing office was responsible and the leasing office tells me that you are the third party responsible for billing. Who is responsible? Con service is a scam. I have a 50$ HVAC bill but the funny part is my HVAC is broken and has not been running this month, so how is that possible? I get my water and sewer through Conservice, and out of idle curiosity clicked here on Yelp to see what people had to say. I am slightly surprised that so many people gave 1 star reviews, so I'm writing my own. Yeah, they're a third-party utility billing company or whatever, so I'm not really expecting a glowing review from anyone, but at least in my experience, the bills have been clear and the website fine enough. I know that review sites can tend to collect the negatives (since positive people have no motivation to post), but here's one person at least who thought they did a decent job at what they're advertised to do. These guys are absolute scum. Expect to get all kinds of fun surprises in your monthly bill. In the coarse of a given year I pay almost half as much in assorted fees as I do in water/ sewer. I consider myself excellent about paying bills on time, but with these guys its impossible. Most bills give you 30 days to pay after the bill is received, Conservice however gives me on average 5 days to pay, and keep in mind they don't care when the you're payment has been postmarked. So I need to get the check in the mail the same day I receive the bill or face late charges, and twice now I got the bill to late to pay on time unless I did the electronic payment (additional fee). As to how they decide how much to bill I can only guess. It seems to be completely random because in no way does it match up with my meter. I was out of town for a month and a half and somehow I used substantially more water during that time then I normally do. These guys should be in prison I honestly don't know how this isn't fraud. read more

I just received my first bill from Conservice and its an absolute sham. I live in a 4 person household(in an apartment complex) and somehow I'm getting charged $136.08 for water, $106.10 for trash, and $84.68 for sewer. How is this at all possible? In I call and ask about sewer bill for our apartment complex directly at the provider and they say that the entire months charge for a single unit is 119.04 per unit. I AM 1 APARTMENT OF 5 IN MY UNIT. How is it at all possible I am paying for 71% of the sewer bill? Along with that, the average cost of water in the US is around $70 a month for a 4 person household; how is my water bill nearly double that? I have tried contacting the company via twitter and email and have received nothing in response besides an automated email stating they might get back to me in 2-3, possibly more due to it being the weekend, business days. I am very unhappy with this company. I just moved into my apthieves! In Richardson, TX and I received a $309.00 water bill for a 2 br apartment for only one month of service. I have been complaining for over a month now and I just seem to keep getting sent in circles. This amount for an apartment with 2 people or any residence for that matter is unheard of. I moved from Portland/Seattle area to Fort Worth about 120 days ago. The home I am renting is set up with conservice utility. The home is 1500-1600 sq ft and a single story. The first month conservice billed me around $400 for utilities. I paid it and assumed since it was summer maybe utilities were extra high this time of year. Since that first month, conservice has continued to significantly increase my monthly bill. My last monthly utility bill was for $657.00 These people are crooks. No help getting issues resolved from them or rental company (American Homes For Rent). In just 4 months time I've paid conservice around $2000 and have had enough. I'm finally moving. I've lived in many parts of the country in my life and have gone through many utility companies before with no problem. This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with. They go out of their way to scam you with fake "late" fees. I sent my check on the 2nd but they sit on it and don't cash it until the 11th. Then on the 25th I get a statement saying I'm late so they're charging a $7 fee on a $37 bill. Complete BS. read more

I don't know how many times it needs to be said, but if there is one thing you get from reading these Yelp reviews, Do not use Conservice! A $10 late fee for being a day late. I MAILED MY CHECK 6 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE DUE DATE! But, because it didn't get there in time they charged me a late fee. I sent my check in on 1/29, and they say it wasn't received until 2/8. Because it wasn't received on 2/5 or earlier, they charged a $10 late fee- That's a meal! In past experiences, my utility company has charged a $3 late fee. Instead, Conservice charges you a $3 fee if you want to pay over the phone to avoid the $10 fee. They do waive the $10 fee one time, so that's real kind of them. I've been on time every month this year, even early by a week or so multiple times, yet that does nothing good for me. The only way to avoid all fees is to sign up for automatic bill pay by reading the fine print at the bottom of the invoice and checking the box that is next to the fine print. Anddddd, you also have to include a voided check. This company has terrible customer service, they will not work with you, and I don't recommend them. In conclusion, do not use Conservice. read more

I didn't know if the problem was my apartment complex or Conservice but after reading this reviews, I'm starting to think that its Conservice. My electric bill has been doubling monthly and my bill for this past month is $362!!! with no explanation as to why. I have had electric companies that will show me the break down of my usage day by day, but when I ask for that from them they act like I'm speaking another language. No transparency at all. I know others posted about this too. I got a $50 vacant fee. The initial call was great, they'll send me a refund. The next bill, refund didn't come. I called 3 more times w a different "excuse" each time. Finally got my refund 2 months later! Definitely check your monthly statements to make sure you're being charged appropriately!!!! read more
