Reading all the negative reviews make me realize I was not alone in my experience with this practice. Their receptionists are nice. I've never been charged so much to my insurance on unnecessary procedures. I was told by them that Invisalign was not covered by my plan but they were offering me a limited discount at only $2000 and normal price is $3500. Red flag right there. My plan completely covers Invisalign at any age. I refused to get any work done and began to distrust them. The bills kept being mailed to a point where I had to call their office to clarify why I being charged twice. Be aware. read more

Agree with other negative reviews, first appointment which was just a cleaning took almost two hours because of a camera they used that they had trouble working, and they kept having to turn it on and off. The bite wing X-rays really hurt for some reason. I was told I need a crown, and Invisalign, even though I already had an Invisalign consultation with my usual dentist and was told it wasn't necessary. read more

I refuse to believe any of the positive reviews for Conshohocken Dental Arts are legitimate. While everyone in the office is nice/friendly, it has been weeks now that I have been reaching out about a refund I am owed for a procedure I did not follow through with (received second and third opinions that disagreed with the diagnosis the office made). I just keep getting the same blanket "we'll get back to you" excuse from the receptionists. It is to the point where I don't believe they have anyone working in billing... if there was a negative star I would rate that.i went in for just a check up and dental cleaning. after much sweet talk and asking me about very personal questions that was uncomfortable they recommended a new crown for $1000 and a retainer for another $2000. I asked for a cleaning but they said not that day. The medical assistant took X-rays when I told her I had them this year and she reassured me that I will not get charged. just got a bill. this place should be called conshohocken dental Con-artist instead. read more

I had only had 3 visits with them last year, and I chose them because they had glowing reviews, however, little did I know, they essentially over hype your first visit and make you feel overly welcome, and then at the end, they solicit reviews before you walk out the door. I later posted a poor review after my third experience was HORRIBLE, and they called to ask me to take it down. I did because they convinced me it wasn't fair to the rest of the office staff, who were really nice, and since it was primarily the dentist that I had the issues with, I agreed. They asked me if I wanted anything in return and I said no. Just that they listen to people when they express concerns. My primary concern at the time was that they lied to me. After my first visit they told me that I needed crowns, but I never had crowns before, so I didn't know what to expect. I told them my wedding was in two weeks, and they said they could cement the temp crowns, just in case. I was nervous because they had a person before me who was complaining pretty loudly in the waiting room that their crowns fell out after recently having them done. The procedure went smoothly with minimal discomfort. It wasn't until I returned for the permanent ones that the dentist admitted that they lied to me about having cemented the temporary ones in. Why you would do that to someone before a major life event is beyond me. Also, when I told them that the my bite felt off with the temporary ones, the dentist told me that wasn't possible because "that's not how teeth work" as if I wouldn't know what my own teeth were supposed to feel like after 30+ years. However, once the permanent ones were in I no longer felt the misalignment when I bit down. Mind blowing. Why am I posting this review again a year later? Because they told me that had confirmed with my insurance what my financial liability was and I only owed them around $900.00, which I paid in three installments. Almost a year later now, I received a letter from my insurance company stating that a licensed dentist reviewed the clinical information and the procedure on both teeth was not actually necessary, so of course I get a bill from JP Gohel DMD LLC Conshohocken Dental Arts asking for an additional $1,046. None of it was covered even though CDA made it seem like it was absolutely urgent that I have the procedure done. When I called my insurance company they said they denied the claim ,and CDA appealed, but they only sent over the x-rays with no additional information. CDA claims to have submitted a description. So bottom line, don't go here unless you enjoy unnecessary procedures and getting surprise bills with commas in them. You should at the very least get a second opinion. I've seen other reviews regarding billing errors for services that weren't even rendered, and I would strongly suggest if this happens to you that you file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Board of Dentistry. Also, I told billing weeks ago that I wanted to appeal, but they continue to send me bills threatening to send it to collections in 10 days if it's not paid. read more

SCAMMERS!! I went here for an exam since it was close to my residence-BIG MISTAKE. They appeared overly nice, but it came across as pushy. Even though I stated that I did not want Invisalign, they kept pushing it on me, going as far as sending out an authorized preauthorization to my dental insurance. (BTW my teeth are pretty straight) They said I had 4 cavities, needed two crowns, needed to come back every 3 months for a deep cleaning, needed fluoride, 2 crowns, etc..you get the picture. I did not allow this transaction and asked to do a preauthorization. Good thing I did, or I would be out a couple thousand dollars. (I believe I was targeted due to my insurance-most of it would have been paid for). Luckily, I had good intuition... I didn't wait to see the preauthorization results- I drove a little further and went to a dentist in Broomall that my co-worker went to. Final result- I had 1 cavity and had to come back for a regular cleaning. I then told my new dentist what Conshy Dental Arts said, and they were shocked. Hopefully this review will help someone out. And I recommend Williamsburg Dental in Broomall- Dr. Tibbetts. read more

After many years of being a loyal PAYING customer, I finally stood up to their unrelentless billing and overcharging. I was told I needed a mouth guard, and I said i did not need it, but the dentist persisted and said insurance would cover it. IT DID NOT...I fought for months to get the $1600 off my account and it was finally removed. At my next appointment, I was told that I owed a balance of $1500, when I asked for the reason, I was told we have a new system and management team, and all the computer says is previous balance. They could not provide me with the reason for the billing amount. After speaking with the office manager Jen (no longer at Conshy) she said some things were coded wrong in the insurance system and she would resubmit it all and get back to me. Here we are a year later and a collection agency has called me. I called the office and was told that there is nothing to be done and to deal with the collection agency. So 15 years of loyalty out the window because these guys are snakes that steal people's money and blame you. Bunch of crooks taking advantage of everyday people. Sad!!! read more

I never had a cavity before, go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning, brush, floss, etc. They told me I had 3 cavities that needed to be filled immediately. Basically, they lied to me. After not having cavities my entire life, they told me that I had SIX! They showed me the x ray telling me to look at the cavities, and I did not see anything wrong with my teeth. Naturally, my skepticism kicked in, and I decided to not get them filled. 6 months later, I go to a new dentist, and they did not find a single cavity! Now I'm no tooth scientist or anything, but I'm pretty sure that cavities don't go away on their own. This leads me to believe that I never had any cavities to begin with. I think Conshohocken Dental Arts was just shaking me down. They're like an auto mechanic trying to get you to fix stuff that doesn't need to be fixed yet. I only went to them because they were the only dentist in the area that took my insurance. Lesson learned: Just spring for the PPO dental plan so that you can go to the dentist you want. read more

I went in for a cleaning, had no pain at all, they said I needed filling "touched up," came back for the "touch up" and ended up in much discomfort and now need a root canal or the molar removed. My experience was not good at all at this location. we went to this location for my wife. The reception/insurance handler should be replaced. She is very Unpleasant. My wife wasn't seen by the doctor (Which I had expected). The assistant was good as far as the dental treatment is concerned. But she was very unsure/confused about whether one process/treatment was necessary. They confused us as far as the procedure was necessary and charged us for the multiple processes/treatments, which I think weren't necessary (I am still struggling for re-reimbursement with my insurance). I thought my insurance wasn't good and even tried to change the benefit. BTW insurance is through my employment. So I went to another location (Fresh Smiles) for myself and my kid. As soon as they looked at my insurance, they said, "Your insurance is good." They have been treating us with like true clients. So don't go to Conshohocken Dental Arts to meet with anxiety. read more

I definitely do not recommend this office. The office staff is extremly nice but the hygentist is a nightmare. She made recomendations for work and not the dentist which i didnt like i think the dentist should so that and she was alittle too happy about seeing cavitys on the xrays. She made a long list and alot of inappropriate comments so i got a second opinion and my list of work needed is no where near what this place suggested. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They are horrible and gave me severe anxiety over going to the dentist. They filled 2 cavities in my mouth which never existed. The dentist is extremely unprofessional and basically just tries to get every dime he can out of you. He actually pulled his cell phone out to take a picture of my tongue during an exam! He tried to scare me by telling me that if I didn't get a mouth guard, which I couldn't afford, I was going to get cancer! I walked out of the office never to return. Referred by a friend, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I got a great cleaning and the dentists were very knowledgable. The office is small, but this is good because it is not too overwhelming for those who are scared of the dentist. I felt very comfortable the entire trip. I also got in and got out in a timely manner, no unnecessary waiting or stalling. I went to this office because my insurance didn't cover the dentist I was used to going to. The office itself is clean and comfortable. But the people are the issue. The hygienist asked me a series of personal questions that made me feel uncomfortable. She was asking my salary, my education, my parents salary, my parents education, and even if my parents ever thought about getting a divorce! I have never had a cavity so when she looked at my teeth she said, "Your teeth are so perfect, how are we going to make money off of you?!" Even if she was joking it was unreal how unprofessional she was. When the dentist came in she told me I had 3 cavities and said "Sorry sweetie". She also told me I had a hole in my tooth?! On my way out they were trying to get me to make appointments for my teeth and talking about pricing. I did not make an appointment because I felt so uncomfortable. I recently changed my insurance and went back to my regular dentist who did a series of extra X-rays because I told her I was worried about the hole and cavities. Do not go here! Similar to other posters on yelp, I had never had any cavities. I went here and they told me I had 4! I couldn't see anything on the x-ray when they showed me and they refused to go into more detail or explain why they needed to be filled. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews here and I got two of them filled before realizing it was total BS. They did a terrible job on the filling and now my teeth that were drilled hurt occasionally. Before I got the filling I had no issues at all!! I wish I could give this practice 0 stars. I have absolutely nothing good to say about my experience with Dr. Gohel. He recommended a crown that I now believe I didn't need (I can only assume that this was so he could bill my insurance for it) and have had nothing but problems with since, when the tooth was completely fine previously and I hadn't had issues for 10 years since I last had work on it. He gave me a referral to a periodontist when he had actually meant to send me to an oral surgeon and then never even sent along the x-rays. So the periodontist basically couldn't do anything for me. Told me that I needed a night guard and then only suggested the option that I would need to pay for 100% out of pocket, when I found out later that another mouth guard option would have been covered by my insurance. When I brought this up to the secretary, she called another dentist and had a conversation with her about how they wouldn't make any money on that option IN FRONT OF ME! In my experience, this dentist is only interested in making money and does not care about his patients at all. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Do not go here....they nickel and dimed me! 1000 for a mouth guard i could have bought at a store. They try to sell you mouth wash and toothbrushes but are very pushy. I had to cancel my appointment because of work and reschedule it, and the receptionist basically yelled at me over the phone. (I called two days in advance! ) they also have this text messaging reminder service, however i have text messages feom businesses blocked on my phone for spam reasons and they didnt understand and gave me attitude. The dental hygienist is a nightmare. She thinks shes a dentist and makes absurd recommendations that the actual dentist ignores. She did this extensive cleaning on my teeth and then when i came back for my 6 months she said the last person must have done a bad job - honey, it was you. She also just constantly says things that are overreactive and scare the patient (me who has severe dental anxiety). Will NOT be returning. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before going here. Last week I went here for the first time due to my new dental insurance, I was no longer able to go to my previous dentist. I have never had a cavity before in my life. While at this dentist ( I saw Dr. Chen) they told me I had 5-7 cavities and would like me to come back for fill ins. The dental hygienist also told me that they were not going to do sealants on my teeth because they don't believe they work and that I still had cavities even though I got sealants in the past. After this visit I decided to get a second opinion and go to another dentist that is a family friend. This dentist took X-rays and looked at my teeth for no charge because she doesn't accept my insurance. She told me that I have NO cavities and the only dental work needed is sealants. I can't believe that Conshohocken Dental Arts was ready to drill 5-7 of my teeth when I really have no cavities at all. What an insurance scam! I am now in the process of putting claims to My insurance company and the American Dental Association. If you don't want to have unnecessary dental work and be nagged to buy things from the office then STAY AWAY from this dental office! read more
