Terrible staff and dentist. Basically he did the implant wrong and is asking us to pay for another implant for the replacement.

8 years ago I would have given Dr. Kachur 5 stars. Today I can't. She isn't the same person I saw…read moreall those years ago when I moved to the area from out of state. Back then she was compassionate. On time. Complimentary. She even went so far as to verbally reprimand a hygienist (who is no longer there) who repeatedly asked me if my mother got mammograms after I told her that my mother had died from breast cancer. My dad moved to the area recently and I recommended Dr Kachur to him for a dentist. His experiences were nothing but negative. She arrived late multiple times and seemed very focused on herself during conversations. This was not the doctor I knew and I couldn't believe he was having these experiences. I was a little wary when she told me last spring that she thought I was a heavy grinder and needed a mouth guard right away. This was the first time in 8 years she mentioned something. Then was a little put off when I couldn't afford to dish out the $500 to cover the cost my insurance won't pay. First red flag. Fast forward to my last appointment with her in December 2015. I went for a cleaning and to fix a filling that had chipped for the second time. Dr. Kachur showed me the colors she had shown my dad. Very abrasive emotionally and rough shoving a film in between my teeth. When I started to cry she got all defensive and walked out. Jackie one of the hygienists comforted me. I took the blame when Dr Kachur came in and said I was extra emotional due to fertility drugs I was taking at the time. I always take the blame especially in situations where I don't want to create a scene. Dr. Kachur proceeded to tell me that she had to tell her doctor years ago that her hormonal meds she took years ago made her super emotional and therefore she wanted to stop. I took this as her implication that she thought I should do the same. You don't imply that to anyone much less a woman who struggles with infertility! She also never said sorry for being abrasive with me and asked me why I was crying because she "didn't say or do anything wrong." Later that day I decided to walk away for good from this practice. I wish that all the recognition that she has gotten didn't change her personality. Because long ago she was a kind doctor. It's a sad shame. I must say that Jackie, Louise, Lily and the other people I have encountered have been nothing but kind. But the way I was treated the last time by a doctor was the deciding factor for me to leave.

They came to the conclusion that I needed seven implants and four caps for one broken tooth. I paid over $700 after this evaluation, and my dental insurance was billed over $600. They are now chasing me for a $550 additional charge. The staff was rude and aggressive, and all of the extra exams they performed were done under the impression that my insurance would cover them. They never informed me that my insurance would not cover these tests, nor did they inform me of the exorbitant costs each procedure had. Overall, I had an extremely unprofessional experience and I hope future customers do not allow themselves to fall for this fraud.

This is the second root canal that I have had to have performed over my lifespan and this most recent experience has given me a whole new positive view on the procedure based on the experience I had. My experience during my procedure did not fall short of my friend's recommendation. Dr. Biron and his assistant were very accommodating, compassionate, friendly and professional during the entire process, not to mention the facility was immaculate. I would highly recommend anyone who needs a root canal to go to Dr. Biron. Trust me root canals are not as bad as you think they are when you are working with Dr. Biron and his staff! I took a stack of his cards and I am referring all of my colleagues, family and friends.

First she told me to take her off of speaker phone (I did not have her on speaker phone) and acted like I was lying to her telling me what it sounds like when people are on speaker phone. And I said again, I'm sorry but you are not on speaker phone. I then asked if she was able to see if they carried my insurance and to see how much a root canal would be. She rudely told me that that is not her responsibility. (I called several places before this one and they were all HAPPY to help me). It seemed like I was a bother to her and she just didn't "feel" like doing her job. I then said you know what never mind and we ended the conversation. Thinking about how that awful conversation went, I called back to speak with someone higher up then her that would maybe be able to help me. She answered the phone "HI ELIZABETH" (saw my name on caller ID) and told me that she IS the higher up. I nicely asked her what her name was and she refused to give it to me. I then asked to speak with Dr Biron (which I knew he was most likely busy) and asked what a good time was to call back to speak with him. She said I couldn't speak with him. And the phone went silent. Assuming she hung up on me. If anyone knows the women working the front desk's name, please add it in the comments. People should know how rude she is. She should not be working in customer service speaking to people like that. I was eager to get into the office to get my work done and now I would NEVER recommend anyone to this place. Its unfortunate for the Doctor that his front desk worker is costing him business.

After completing my X-rays and consultation with the dentist, I was then advised there was "no time" left for my cleaning. I expressed my concern because only part of the appointment was honored. Despite that, I was later billed for charges I never knowingly approved and never agreed to pay out of pocket. What made this worse was the lack of transparency. I repeatedly asked for clear documentation, itemized charges, and proof that I signed for certain services they later claimed I owed. Instead of properly resolving the dispute, the account was sent to collections and reported to the credit bureaus. I already paid significant amounts directly to the office, including payment for Invisalign by credit card, yet they still pursued additional disputed charges without properly explaining them. Patients should be very careful here and request everything in writing before agreeing to treatment. Make sure you fully understand what insurance covers and what they may later try to bill you for. Very stressful experience overall, especially the handling of billing and collections.
