It is well worth making the turn off the main strip because you will find quite a few treasures here. The store is located in a historic building from 1918 that was formerly owned Henry W. who operated the H.W. Rice Garage and Machine Shop. The business was later owned by Lewis Bishop who invented the rotary mower that revolutionized mowing grass. On the side of the building is ample parking. On the first floor of the building you will find room upon room of all kinds of bric-a-brac, furniture, jewelry, home goods, and collectibles. The store had quite a few vintage Christmas items which set it apart from some of the other stores I visited during my stay. You never know what you will find which is what makes the hunt so fun.

I had a barbecue chicken one with no cheese and it was good but afterwards I had a piece of their very unusual meringue Keylime pie, which was delicious exceptionally sweet but the cup of coffee which was also good we went outside and the picture you'll see a picture of a pelican that was sitting right outside. It's right on the ocean and we sat where we could see everything this pelican was there for most of the time we ate.

It was large, with room after room beautifully staged, and every little corner felt thoughtfully curated. Lace, florals, fluffy fabrics, delicate treasures, romantic furniture, gorgeous displays... I was practically gliding through the place, smiling, "awwww"-ing, and trying very hard not to dramatically collapse into one of the fainting chairs because HOW are these real?! The presentation was EVERYTHING. You can tell the designer/stager has an incredible eye. Each room felt like its own little world, and somehow it was beautiful without feeling untouchable or stuffy. Everything was accessible, feminine, whimsical, and -- surprisingly -- affordable. Like... WHAAAAT?! Where has this place been?! At some point I stopped feeling like I was shopping and started feeling like I had wandered into a lucky little museum where I was actually allowed to touch everything. He has done an excellent job displaying everything in a way that allows you to get up close and touch every item before purchasing without much assistance. This place ranks at the top of my list of antique store in Arcadia and the owner couldn't be more friendly and knowledgable about what he's buying and putting up for sell. I found (3) great pieces and approached the owner Bobby and asked for his best prices if I purchased all (3) pieces he was very up front with his cost gave me what I thought was a fair discount but both of us being experts in negotiations lol we finally agreed on a fair price for all the pieces and both felt good about making the deal. Arcadia burned down in a fire in 1905 so most of the buildings in the downtown were built after then. This three story building was built by two fraternal organizations, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) and the Woodmen of the World (WOW) in 1914. In subsequent years the building was the Gordon Hotel, the Southland Hotel, the Elks Club, and apartments. The first floor is now an antique store. Inside is a treasure trove of antiques. Room after room of household goods, furniture, bric-a-brac, art, jewelry, clothing, and all kinds of odds and ends. This store seemed to have more dolls than some of the others I visited. I am not knowledgeable about antiques so If I see something I like I check the prices on eBay. If you like antiques it is well worth the time to come to Arcadia especially on the fourth Sunday of the month when all of the shops set up tables outside.
