Update: Manager called and made it much better. And made it right. Waiting on a partial refund. I had booked a regular service for two of my properties 2 miles apart. I was told it was an hourly rate. They refused to honor their promise and are making me pay for two service calls even though it was one call that took barely more than one hour. We were with the tech who was very helpful for the entire time. I had confirmed it would just be an hourly rate that would be pro-rated of $154/hr or I never would have booked their company. I never will again and HIGHLY suggest you save your money or they will bait and switch you too. I never received a quote for service and was billed and paid immediately and then got a 2nd address bill for the same amount. Again do not use this company. I would have happily paid a partial rate for the overage but they are not offering any consideration. SB is too small to do this to long time property owners. read more

Our old garage door motor died peacefully after years of hard work...RIP. Tyler with Consolidated Overhead Door came out and gave new life to our garage with a fancy wifi-connected unit that we can control with our phones from anywhere and even has a camera that records when we remotely open it and get notifications when it opens/closes. It's also so much quieter than the old one. Tyler was a wiz and hooked it all up so quickly, programmed my phone and my car. The pricing was less than I'd expected which isn't usual these days. Consolidated is the only garage door repair & replacement company to call in Santa Barbara. Reputable, knowledgeable, and honest. They are the best. I made the mistake of starting at another company (Precision). They came out, wiggled this and jiggled that, charged $425, and left. They didn't fix anything. I have 83 days left on my 90 day warranty, and they won't return my call. Consolidated fixed three different things in a matter of minutes, and now my garage door works perfectly. I would like to commend this company! I stupidly hired a company out of LA, to repair my garage door. They supposedly changed 2 different things to the tune of $900. I was still having problems & they stopped answering my calls. Consolidated came out & changed the sensors which the other company claimed to do & who charged $400! Quick background. Got an estimate. It was very high, even among other high quotes. I requested some consideration of a lower price. Got a lower quote--but it was still so high, I was compelled to do some homework. I found out the labor cost for a two day job was 8K. PLUS they doubled the cost of the materials. So, approx 10.5K profit on a two day job. I absolutely confirmed the cost of materials from an authorized dealer. My price was likely HIGHER than theirs since I am not a professional. All I want to say here is, these guys are hardcore grinders, taking advantage of folks' ignorance. I believe in profit--even very high profit--don't get me wrong. Go ahead, make your money, you have to make money. I also understand how expensive it is to business in CA, etc etc. But with all those considerations, these guys are STILL at the bleeding edge of shameless greed. I found a pro with 4.5 star reviews, who provides excellent, prompt, personal customer service. Fully insured, licensed, all of the pro criteria. AND came in nearly 40% less. There is no compromise in this choice. In fact, there is just the opposite. There is an upgrade. Do your homework. Be careful. These guys are not the only ones slamming customers who don't know better. Look around. Find the right quote and the right pro. read more

I have had three occasions to call on Consolidated within the past 3 months and they are always responsive. Today especially I called about 12:30 to tell them I could not close my garage door (it had been erratic the past two days) . The operator said someone would be there before the end of the day. It was only a half hour later and Hope the repair person showed up. ,Hope analyzed the problem and said I would need a new motor system. They sell first class equipment, operate a well organized and cheerful front office and back up their products with a well trained field service team. Consolidated sent their service technician to diagnose and repair our garage door which was not running smoothly. Hope called ahead and set a time of arrival. She arrived on time in a clean and well equipped service truck. She replaced a broken part, tested the door, set the travel and then performed a full visual inspection. Finally she carefully lubricated all the moving parts to reduce future wear. The system was running like a Swiss watch when Hope was finished. I was bracing for a week or two without using the garage door -- a problem since my Tesla charger is inside but my car was outside. Consolidated sent out a technician, Hope, within hours. i own a house with a 16 ft garage door older and was in need of repair- about 2 weeks ago Consolidated sent a person out who fixed the door fit. long story short I called Consolidated this morning about some problems with the garage door. within 1 hour two gentleman one with 34 years experience fellow named Rich and his co worker Lance with 8 years exp. Together both the guys spent a good 1/2 hour explaining EXACTLY what is needed to fix a number of problems. including a complete new door. Also with some fine adjustment including banging out a dent to realign the door. for now I should be able to get buy for another couple years before a new door is needed ? Hopefully. On Saturday April 6, 2024 our garage door jammed about half way down as the opener was attempting to close it. Fortunately we had just gotten our car out but we were unable to close the door after it jammed. We got a recommendation from a contractor neighbor to call Consolidated Overhead Garage Door, so about 8:30 AM Monday morning I phoned the company, spoke with Thomas and told him about our plight. He said he would contact one of their field crews and they would let me know when they could come by and see what the problem was and work to repair the door. About an hour later I answered the doorbell and a young lady named Hope said she and her partner, Carlos, were there to repair the garage door. I joined them in our garage and as I was discussing our problem, they were already starting the repair work. I was very impressed with their knowledge and their competence. They fixed the problem a lot quicker than I ever expected and they lubed all of the rollers after they had reinstalled the several rollers that had gotten jarred loose from the track when the door jammed. They also lubed the garage door opener on this garage door as well as on a second garage door of ours without my having to ask them to do that. Needless to say, I was very impressed with Hope and Carlos and would not hesitate to refer anyone to this company. I sincerely believe Consolidated Overhead Garage Door truly deserves the five star rating I have given them. read more
