The completion report will be filed in the near future *** A few of our windows have been leaking whenever the rain with 20-30 mph wind coming down from all direction! So we went back to our original window-installer, Quality Windows & Doors of Oxnard at its original store. They came back a few times to re-caulk the rims of leaked windows. But the windows failed to retain its waterproofing again & again. So, we figured to give QW&D one more chance to fix it by getting new "nail-in" windows. The estimator, Larry, was a very knowledgeable window-installer/estimator; he answered all of our questions & concerns, & he gave us a very thorough estimate including measurements, sketches & pictures. And we talked to John at the new Ventura's office. He was also very cognizant on the products. He gave us reassurance and we signed the order contract in mid July. There was a few confusion in the original estimate received via enclosure in the email in which it was stated that a 50% deposit was required although talking to the office on the phone assured us that the deposit was only 25% of the overall installation cost. John finally explained that the 50% deposit was for the QW&D to pay for the manufacturer to order the windows. So, we ordered the windows. Now we are awaiting for QW&D to let us know when they will deliver the windows and then finally install them. Until then, I'll keep you updated the progress. read more

I cannot say enough good things about our experience getting 2 new custom window replacements with Quality Windows. Larry came out to measure and look at our original inset custom windows that had unfortunately degraded, and designed the really nice looking replacements to match. Then when the new windows came in, he came by with assistants Adam and Carlos, and put them in! They worked efficiently and did such a good job, I was really impressed. A couple of days later they sent Lalo by with his assistant to do the stucco, and it blends perfectly with the surround. Seamless team work. What a great job. Thank you Quality Windows! read more

Started out great, we had a fantastic sales person who is no longer with the company which might have something to do with basically zero communication from them. Made a deposit and no communication for over a year after the order. Also made an effort to stop into the Ventura showroom to check in about the order. The manager (did not know she is a manager) was nice and pleasant but proceeded to talk about how I was spending all of my husband's money. And then talked about how she only flies private. I am a person and I am embarrassed that I allowed someone to talk to me in this way and spent money here. Still no communication about a modified bill since they have not found part of the order. read more

I had two gym mirrors replaced and it was done within a week! Everyone who helped me at the Santa Barbara location was incredible, and our technisions were very quick (only taking about an hour and half for two mirrors) and did a fabulous job! I reached out to this company because I needed a local expert to help with my La Cantina door, but the experience was frustrating and slow from start to finish. Instead of sending someone to take a look at the problem, they tried to diagnose the issue over email and video. They ended up consulting the manufacturer (which seemed promising), but ordering an unnecessary $600 handle. When the installers came to put it in, they immediately realized that it wasn't the problem. While I realized I was stuck with the handle, the installers did not collect on the labor and left, but four months later, the office had the audacity to threaten interest charges! In the end, I worked directly with the manufacturer myself and learned that this company has no expertise working on any other aspect of these doors besides handles. I had to bring in a technician from Los Angeles to actually identify and fix the locking mechanism in the door itself. I was really hoping for knowledgeable, professional local service, but unfortunately, that's not what I got. read more

I just ordered a new custom bay window for my cute downtown Santa Barbara home. I was delighted to find a gem of a business in Quality Windows and Doors at the Santa Barbara location. From my first encounter with Lisa on the phone, I knew I had found my windows. Next came Olaf, on time and the most congenial guy who took measurements of the window I wanted and answered all my annoying ocd questions with patience and kindness. And lastly Johny and Luis, were the two technicians who installed my window. They did an amazing job, a thorough job cleaning up after the job and were so sweet all the while. The window was not an easy job either, past owners had installed glass with no frame on top of rotten wood. Johny and Luis built a brand new face around the window. I am delighted with the end product and will recommend Quality Windows to everyone I know! read more

Charged $1200 for a door installation which took two workers 2 1/2 hrs. Had the door been installed correctly (had 3/8 inch gap between bottom of the door and threshold.) this would not be a problem. When I called the following morning, they took down my information and told me they would get back to me. When I called at the end of the day, and spoke to the scheduler, he had not been notified and the earliest this could be completed was 3 days from now. Meanwhil the door can not be used because it is not properly sealed at the bottom. read more

I found them very difficult to work with. They were very helpful before they got the sale but as soon as they did, the quality of their responses went downhill quickly. After they did the installation, and there were problems, they at first refused to make any adjustments and to make it right. It took numerous phone calls and discussions with several people to get the issues resolved. Would not use them again. read more

Thing started out well with Quality windows and doors, the estimator (Olaf) was on time and very knowledgeable with a lot of good options. It took a bit of time to get the quote, but it ended up being the most competitive so we went with them. Signed the contract, paid our deposit and waited. Was being patient so did not bother them for a month and then called to get a status. Turns out they never ordered our door because there was an issue with the supplier and they wanted to change one of the options. Which would have been fine with us, however they never contacted us to resolve the issue and so we wasted a month while they sat on it. At this point we told them we were OK with the alternative and to confirm they had put the order in with the supplier. What was painful was trying get to the bottom of it as my emails were never responded to and when calling I talked to 4 different people (including Espy the store manager) who always promised to solve it but never got back to me. In the end they never ordered the door from their supplier, so we moved on to a company who had their act together. read more

I signed up for 2 standard windows (47 x 47 or there abouts) on October 27th and the tech came to check the outside of the house the following week ($290). So far they have $480 and still no windows. I went with a smaller company for some other windows in mid November. They measured, ordered and installed on January 25th. Meanwhile getting the run around with Mark Davis and how he had to let Ramon go. Not really interested. The contract said work would commence approx. 45 to 60 days after tech - even with extra time for holidays etc this should have been done by mid January. I want my $480 back so that l can move on. Now l have to check in with Small Claims tomorrow .... and l'm not happy. My advice - don't!!! read more

What a horrific experience. We placed and order for windows as well as some glass for our shower due to their competitive pricing. The windows took FOREVER to come in and they changed my installation about 4 different times. Each time required me to shuffle around child care and work meeting to accomodate the disturbance. After putting my foot down with the scheduler, they finally came to install, but multiple windows were damaged, screens were torn, and frames were bent. They also weren't able to install all the windows in the same day despite taking all of them out, so we had multiple windows without glass overnight. They had to reorder a few pieces which meant even more of a delay and the workers coming back to my home multiple times. 2 years later and I am STILL finding shards of glass around my home. With my shower glass, I was assured by the sales guy that they could order a custom sized out of square piece to fit our slightly uneven ceiling so that it would be flush from floor to ceiling. Come installation day, the guys spent quite a while in my bathroom trying to fit the glass, only to find out that it was about an inch too tall and there was no way it was actually going to fit. In the process, they gouged our walls and ceiling. Options were to try and shave the glass down, and if that didn't work, they would order a new piece of glass. Days go by with no updates as promised, so I start calling every few days asking for updates since they seem incapable of proactively communicating. Finally received news that the glass had shattered while they were trying to sand it down, so a new piece was ordered. Further delays, finally come to install the new piece of glass, and this time it was the right height, but it wasn't out of square like they were meant to order, so it didn't fit the slope of the ceiling. I refused to sign papers at the end of the job since it wasn't what I ordered or what I was promised. The process started in May, and the second panel wasn't installed until July. I had multiple promises of the company working to fix the problem but they became non-responsive so I gave up. Now, TWO years later, someone new to the accounting department with no clear history of the job is asking for payment and offering a small discount for the "inconvenience". She called tonight during dinnertime with my family to try and get payment but was so snarky and rude about me not calling her back previously. They have offered to reinstall the work, but I have zero confidence that they would get it right and not destroy my bathroom walls in the process. I 100% do not recommend this company under any circumstances and wish that I had read the other reviews before spending a significant amount of money with them and wasting so much of my time. read more

The team was on time, was very friendly and professional, installed it quickly, and cleaned up very well. We have had them install our exterior windows and doors, interior closet doors, and two showers, during our home remodel and each time they did a great job. The best part about this company is the installers. They do a great job with very little prep info from the sales guys. The office staff aren't helpful and they have recently changed their billing to include credit card service charges, which are a lot. Email responses from both office staff and sales staff take forever, AND you really have to bug them to get what you need in terms of paperwork (i.e. emailed receipts of payment). They aren't interested in making the customer happy, and we have spent quite a bit of money with them. There has got to be a better glass company out there who is interested in customer service. read more

I have use Quality Windows to replace all of my existing windows as well as slider doors. We made the unusual request of having a dog door installed in the sliding door. Unfortunately, it failed. The Quality Windows was good to their word. With the help of Maham I was able to get the new door replaced. Even though it was somewhat confusing, she provided her own cell phone number to make sure I stayed in touch. I think you can judge a company by their employees and Maham was outstanding. read more

We ordered windows in mid October and from day one it was an unpleasant experience. I was told it was a 6 week process, yet our windows were installed in January (almost twice the time period). I called numerous times but never got a return call. When the windows were finally installed I found broken trim around my home, a hole in the wall from carelessness and one of the sliders opened onto a dirt patch instead of the patio. They say that was my fault, but when I asked for a slider to be replaced I would assume it would open the way the previous slider would open. The job was expensive and painful. The screens are loose and very difficult to open. I spoke with different managers and did get a small adjustment to my bill. I spent $15,000+ and got a $350 adjustment. Not worth all the grief I went through. I hope others have better service than I did. read more

I finally figured out why my outdoor shower drain wasn't draining. It was nearly completely CLOGGED WITH DRIED STUCCO! This is 8 months after my Quality window install! I thought this nightmare was all finally behind me and here it is again! I spent 3.5 hours this lovely Saturday morning elbow deep in an icky drain chiseling DRIED STUCCO from the sides and part of the drain pipe that I could reach. Erick, really?? What else is going on when you're not looking? Whatever made your installers think that dumping stucco water down my outdoor shower drain was a good idea? Shortcuts are not ok. Just to update this ridiculous saga. After numerous conversations with several people unknown to me at quality windows and all claiming to own the place, we agreed on a $300 settlement to resolve this. They were to memorialize it in an email. I never heard from them again. This was about 7 months ago. As a reminder nothing changes the fact that they did inferior work, used inferior and miss matched product and removed the expensive hardware and replaced it with junk in a room they weren't supposed to be in and then claimed the same day to have thrown it out. My guess is that it adorns someone else's bathroom. They then split the invoice to claim part of it was completed. THERE Are Better Choices Out There! P.S. I'm still waiting and agreeable to the $300 settlement to get this out of my life. I'll let you all know what happens! read more

Hired them to replace 6 interior doors after a good window install. Not the same experience. Some of the doors were difficult to close, others opened on their own. The knobs were put on upside down. There were at least 5 large dings on the walls and ceiling from the guys not being careful, so now I gotta patch and paint those areas. They came back out and did a mickey mouse repair with mucho attitude, as if. Enough said, look elsewhere. read more

Do not use Quality Windows & Doors! We had other local companies we could have gone with but trusted that since this company has been servicing the SB area for so long that we could trust the quality and customer service, but we've been proven wrong. We ordered five windows and a set of custom wood screens for seven of the original windows on our 1937 craftsman bungalow style house. During installation of one of the windows the guys were banging out the frame of the old window and knocked a heavy brass, sunburst style mirror off the wall, which ended up puncturing our newly redone original hardwood floors and damaging the baseboard. Additionally, one of the windows has a scratch and we were told a new one would be ordered and it would be replaced - it's been two months and I've been following up religiously with the company and still no window. Worse than the windows, though, have been the screens. They took over two months to make and there are large gaps on either the top and bottom or sides of all the frames - they did horrible job making the screens to the size of the measurements that were taken. I called to have someone come out and take a look (which took two weeks after installation), so Ricky came out, took photos, and agreed that they were definitely not sized right and said he would get back to me with what they were going to do in terms of having them remade. TWO weeks went by without hearing anything, so I called again, that same day Johnny came out, took a look, took photos and did the same exact thing as the first guy and said he would connect with Ricky about a solution. That was now 10 days ago and I have not had a follow up ONCE from ANYONE about any of the issues we've had. It's been over a month that the unfinished wood screens have been installed (which is horrible for the wood/absorbs moisture/attracts termites) that we have been wanting to get corrected and painted to finally be done with this project. All around incredibly disappointed with the customer service and product we received from Quality Windows & Doors after spending thousands of dollars with them. Save yourself the hassle and go with another company. read more

Beware. Quality Windows does shoddy work and does not stand behind their work. Quality (quite a misleading name) applied weatherstripping to an array of windows in our house. The weatherstripping drooped and was nonfunctional after 16 months. They said that there is no warranty for the work. read more

We kept in contact via email and I was 100% confident that we had exactly the door we talked about. And he quoted us a great price! We went in and ordered a very expensive screen door from not so Quality doors. We had it installed and the part was bad that closed it. Over 3 weeks passed before they had the correct part. Then it wasn't installed correctly and slammed shut for over 24 hours which disturbed our Condo neighbors. They didn't quality check their work even after they didn't do it right the first time. I explained a whole new door should have been ordered, or replaced instead of making us wait for this in the middle of the summer heat. I called the Manger this morning and explained the problem, and requested a different installation technician. He showed up and explained to me apparently we ordered a screen door that always slams shut!! I said why would we do that? He explained there is a problem with this screen door and I asked why we would be sold that. I called the manager again, and in the meantime the Tech wanted to go talk to my neighbors about their screen doors! Are you kidding me? I explained that they don't need to be bothered and if we were sold a bad screen door he could remove it now. Eventually he realized he too wasn't fixing it correctly and we shall see if we were sold a bad product or if Quality doors and Windows actually did finally install it correctly. We have had a far better experience buying a door from Home Depot and having our own handyman install it. We can't wait to see the bill for today's problems. I would never recommend this company, and would never purchase anything nor would I trust their installation technicians. read more
