Instead of helping your fellow Filipino customer because we all can't fly back home and were forced to notarize with you folks, she made me feel dumb. The notary lady blamed me, instead of doing her job and actually reviewing the documents before making me sign it. She should do her job correctly instead if blaming others who is not so familiar with tour processes and requirements. And why is it so hard to make more copies. Instead she grumbles and tells me "you go to an American facility and you follow the rules and that you should do the same here." But ive been to an "American facility" and they've always helped me and never ever gave me this much trouble or rude remark. They've always be happy to make simple copies for me. My friend needed a ride to pick up some official documents. Was impressed at how organized and efficient they are. Took us less than 5 minutes to get signed in and depart with the paperwork. Parking lot is small so it stays crowded. Be careful exiting and pulling in as you exit off Pali Highway since you are forced to share the same space with exiting traffic (Roger that... only one lane in and one lane out... if one of the exiting or entering vehicles is a truck or large SUV, someone could get rear ended by Pali traffic). Just be careful and slow and you'll be ok. New construction evident in the form of an annex which will help relieve congestion. Original facility looks about 175 years old. They don't need the print out for the appointment confirmation bring your old passport and green card They don't need the money order anymore, You can pay there with your card for the $60 fee. an envelope a stamp worth $8.95 (both you can get from post office, just say for passport they know which envelope to give you) on the day of your appointment, Make sure you don't have any lashes on or they will make you remove it. My son and i needed to renew our passports, you need to make an appointment online. Make sure to plan ahead cause available appointment times are usually 2 weeks out. We get there and there's a nice security guard ready to greet you and direct you where you need to go. There's a screen with names and the window #s. There's a lot of seating area outside cause inside there's just no room, you go in there when your name is called. It's not hot cause for some reason, it's always super windy over there. There's also a bathroom near where the ramp begins which is all the way down past the flags and to your left. The bathroom is clean and spacious. I was able to bring in my son's stroller. No changing station though. Inside, friendly staff ready to take in your application and whatever questions you may have. The whole process is pretty quick. We were there for 30 minutes and that's it! They check your documents, you pay at the cashier window, get your picture taken,l and thumbprints, and off you go. We got our passports in the mail in 3 weeks. read more

I'm so grateful that they have a consulate here in Honolulu. You have to make an appointment and yes it takes 2 to 3 weeks for a passport appointment. I've been here so many times to get all my paperwork done as well as my kids because you know how hard it is to get passport in the Philippines with all the "runners" "extra service" and just the hassle. I had a bad experience a few months ago with this office when I was trying to reach them for a question. I didn't want to go all the way down to Pali if I don't have the right documents so I was calling them multiple times a day but no one answered, I left multiple emails and voice messages but no one returned my call. Their website is not regularly updated! Oh God they made me feel stupid one time when I only have three copies of my documents as stated on the website but the lady gave me a paper that she took from the form slot inside their office that said I needed 4 photocopies so I showed her my print out that it only says 3 on their website and she made me feel like I'm not following the instructions (that's why I was trying to call them because I don't want that to happen again) so from then on I just bring four photocopies of every single paper I have. parking is not a problem. The security guard is very knowledgeable although I don't think he speaks Tagalog which is a little frustrating for some of the Filipino elders who goes there because you can just see them trying hard to communicate with the guard and I know that feeling that sometimes it gets intimidating.. so I think the guard should also learn how to speak Tagalog because of course you work in the consulate of the Philippines. I don't know, when you go inside this consulate, it has that "pinoy vibe" uppers / whatever. Just go in and out and make sure you have copies of all your documents. But ever since they enforce the appointment, it got better, they also take care of their elders. If you senior citizen, you don't need an appointment. That's one thing I like about the new system.. I researched via the Philippine Consulate Website what documents I needed to bring to do what I needed to do. However the website isn't entirely accurate, so I ended up needing to come back a few times to get everything done. I have to say with each visit, everyone was very nice and respectful, and the ladies behind the glass are SO helpful. I haven't read all the bad reviews here, but as long as you're respectful and bring all the required documents and cash payments, you won't have any problems. If the staff seems curt, it's because they deal with all sorts of people and are probably expecting people to be rude to them right off the bat. That being said, they DO NOT answer their phones and the mailbox is always full. If you come, make sure you have plenty of time as you never know how long the lines will be. read more

You have to book appointment and schedule is 3-4 months out to renew your passport. So my family had an appointment on May 10 2022. The staffs are very friendly, which I think is the only positive thing about this place. The process is horrendous! I got advised that we will receive our new passports in 6-8 weeks. I was okay with that since our trip to Asia is mid-July 2022, so plenty of time. I got all but 1 of the new passports in June 29, trip is July 16. I waited for the passports to arrive before booking any tickets, this is not a vacation but more on medical reasons. ONE passport still has not arrived until now, and it's the passport of the youngest in the family! I've been trying to contact the consulate but ALL OF THEIR PHONE NUMBERS ON THEIR WEBSITE ARE NOT WORKING, voice mailboxes are full, and I did not receive a single reply even from their e-mail. I tried to call another duty officer but failed to give me an update. All I wanted was a reschedule for my passport renewal. Disappointing service. They are already here in America yet they bring their unprofessional working manners from the Philippines. Makes me remember how lazy the workers are in the Philippine government. I had an appointment time, was there 15 mins prior yet I was taken 20 mins more from my scheduled time. I haven't actually went to this place for the purpose of passport or other immigration services but my parents have and this place is pretty much the key to accessing and booking emergency flights to the Philippines and other Philippine/international related business. This place also holds a lot of Filipino and Filipino American events in the main area where they have a stage, tables, chairs, seating, and everything. You can hold events here that you want to organize, you just have to let them know in advance to see if the space is available. I've done a new cast here during Filipino Fiesta season, performed here for Fil-Am events, attended Filipino historical and celebration events, etc. It's a pretty nice atmosphere. So many of the reviews are so similar in customer service. And true! Rude, unprofessional, no one ever picks up the phone. Hire a darn secretary to answer the calls! Office is so small everyone is walking in and out or standing in the area you need to be in line for. Good seating outside but needs to be cleaned, many of the chairs had bird droppings, tables they had set for people to use fill out applications were dusty from the weekend. They should have a PA system to call your number or name so people can wait and sit outside instead of everyone is packed like sardines in that little office waiting for their turn in line, not wanting to of course to miss their turn. Be prepared to wait! We were there for hour and a half waiting in line although it only took 5 min to get my pic taken and fingerprints done. read more

My wife and I went to the consulate today to renew her passport and record our marriage. It didn't take long, the staff were professional and friendly and the facilities are nice. Lots of parking, which is often a problem around Honolulu. Love the shaded porch. Contrast this with the dreadful Hawaii state and Honolulu County services (like getting a marriage or birth certificate) and you see how bureaucracy can be properly run. read more

Called and left a message seeking information regarding covid restrictions and travel requirements to the Philippines. Got a call back the next day by Felix De Leon. He asked me a few questions about my moms citizenship that confused me a bit because at that time, I did not know the difference between naturalized citizen and natural born citizen. I told him politely that he confused me by the way he stated the question. Not sure why that ticked him off.. He then proceeded to blame me that I caused the confusion... I nicely tried to steer the conversation back to the reason why I called but with no avail (I was at my daughters dentist appointment so I did not want to sound like a jackass in there). He would not let me talk. He goes on about how I do not know what I am talking about and that I need to get my facts straight before calling and then just hangs up on me. It has been few years since I had been at this office. It is refreshing to see that they have a more efficient appointment system. I was scheduled at 1030 AM thru the system QLess. I advised that you upload the app as it will give you a real-time update by texting about your appointment. They have a huge TV monitor outside that flashes your name 15 minutes before your schedule. The QLess app updates about your waiting time and further steps in the process up until you finish your purpose for the visit. Thanks that now they used credit card for payments. You do not need to be super early as the programmed schedule is followed right on time. The only challenging part is getting the parking space. But even though their schedule is full, I did not see any huge crowd waiting outside. The room inside is clean and new however the space is still a little bit small esp this pandemic time. The counters are too near each other and to the waiting area as privacy is not observed. I can easily hear the transaction. The area to walk inside to the counter is narrow esp. for our tata and nana using wheelchairs or their walkers. My appointment is 1030am , I was called at 1034 am then lived the area by 1045 AM. I suggest that you download the forms you will need at their website to save sometime. In fairness, the improvement is a breath of fresh air. read more
