This was my very first time staying at a Hyatt hotel and it was quite pleasant. My friends and I stayed between 2-3 nights and my aunty friend got us a Friends & Family discount through her daughter who works for Hyatt. Check In is 3 PM and Check Out is 11 AM & we checked in a tad later maybe around 5-5:30 PM. Overall, I shared 2 nights with a friend and we were able to split the payment between our 2 cards thanks to the Front Desk. I paid probably $221 for my share of the 2 nights which was pretty reasonable for Hawaii. They gave us a $5 credit for drinks/snacks at The Market (which we didn't have time to take advantage of) and a small Hilton bag with 2 bottles of water. The room was surprisingly pretty spacious for the Double Queen Beds, a TV, mini fridge, desk station, comfy couch, and closet. I'm usually one not to sleep well in hotels but I was exhausted from my first Oahu day and slept real good for the 2 nights! It wasn't extremely cold too, it felt like a nice 72-73 degrees. The Breakfast Bar (aka buffet) was included and opens at 6:30 AM and ends 9:30 AM Monday-Friday and at 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. It was located on the 3rd floor where the pool is located and quite windy. There was a good selection of cereal, toast, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, pineapple, granola, hot food station (which had Scrambled Eggs, Portuguese Sausage, Pork Link Sausage, House Potatoes, Waffles, etc.) and my absolute favorite, hot rice and Miso Soup! There was Apple and Orange Juice and a nice selection of Hot Tea and Coffee which you can take to go as well. Downside was parking was $62+/overnight. My friend found a parking structure nearby of walking distance which charged only $45/night so we saved a bit especially with renting a Tesla (the closest Tesla Supercharging Station would be the International Market Place-Target Parking Structure on the 4th floor on the left FYI). Overall the Hyatt was welcoming but because it was summer, prepare for lots of families and some wait time with elevators. Another perfect stay at Hyatt! This is a place I would love to gait keep, in my opinion, it is the hidden gem of the strip and best hotel to stay for us. I saw another review stating people were eating breakfast like it was their last meal...yeah we were, I looked forward to this breakfast for years! Literally dreaming of it, I loved all of the variety. We stayed a week, so it changes a bit every day. They typically have eggs, then a protein, like chicken, bacon, sausage, and Portuguese sausage, then a carb, like French toast, pancakes, waffles, and oven roasted sweet potatoes, or they have Jimmy Dean sandos. They always have miso soup and pineapples, granola, and yogurt, cereals, breads, coffee and juice. I work hard all year, I deserve a week of breakfast served to me. The room was in the perfect spot this time. We had the third floor next to the breakfast, pool, gym, and elevators. The room was so large and spacious and I loved the shower. The shower products were amazing. They had shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. I also appreciate the nice fridge and safe in the room. I also love their metal reusable water bottle and the amazing water filtration system and so many refillable stations. It saved my from dehydration. Being in Vegas a couple years ago, they had no fridge, no free water, and not many places to get a glass of water, and I paid heavily with being sick. Hawaii takes this seriously and I think serves as an example for other places that hosts tourists that engage in outdoor activities. I wish other regular businesses also had these systems. I am a person that always takes a water bottle in my car, so this was a nice perk of the hotel. We also love their beach supplies. Every beach day we got a couple chairs, a couple boogie boards, and some towels, and also in my opinion, this is my favorite spot to beach. I like the calm walled area, whereas the husband and kids love the other side with the rougher waves, and they are steps away from each other so we don't have to hike a mile to get to our favorite beach spots. We also like the food spot and nice tables and chairs. My child had been dreaming of trying the lava cake and also had a peanut butter cookie. With the credits we also got a couple sodas to have with meals. The staff could not be any nicer. I did apologize when they stopped by to help with the room, I had tried to get most of the sand off the bathroom floor (I know they know we are at the beach) but of course they helped me sweep up the rest. The people at the front are also great and have accommodated us with everything. I like how they have a microwave, napkins, and tableware for meals in the lobby. Stayed here for 3 nights in May and truly enjoyed the stay. I did see some negative reviews here so decided to leave mine soon after check out. First of all, the location is great: amazingly close to the shore of Waikiki, all the great restaurants, as well as beaches. Secondly, the room: it was pretty spacious and very quiet, we did not hear any neighbors (only when they walked through the hallway) the whole time and it also had a partial ocean view. There was a small balcony enough to seat 2 people. The room was very very clean: I dropped something behind the sofa chair and when moved it, it was sparkling clean behind. It had blackout curtains, AC, large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The fridge was of good size (unlike other hotels where I have been to, where the fridge was so tiny that no leftovers fit in). Thirdly, the customer service was top notch. Absolutely no complaints about it and only gratefulness: everyone we talked to during the visit was extremely friendly and helpful (separate thanks to Joy, Angelina, Kayla and some others at the front desk who worked during the last days of May). Called for an early check in as flight landed and were told it depends on the availability. Once we made it to the hotel, by 12:15 pm were checked in, the early check in fee was waved, we were given a small bag with reusable water bottles, and were told that we will have daily $5 credit to use up. This was very nice! It allowed us to enjoy more time in Oahu on the first day. There was complimentary breakfast that slightly got switched up every morning (the pineapple was delicious!), a fitness room of an okay size, and a small pool. Also there was a microwave on the first floor with plates, spoons, tables, lots of chairs to lounge on if needed. Even the maintenance was great: when checked in, found out that one of the wall lamps were kind of loose and told the receptionist during the first day just so they are aware but they actually said it they will send someone for repairs right away. We did not necessarily need it fixed, it worked fine but it was great customer service! Also attended the free lei making class and it was fun! Make sure to call and sign up, it happens twice a week. OK, now it was a love hate for this hotel.... So I checked into hotel and the place is a zoo and swarming with humans all intoxicated by being in Hawaii. I receive my room key after being checked into my room and make my way up to room through a sea of kids running around. Now the plot thickens folks, so I'm adding valuables to the safe and I find a pair of soiled women's panties. Well, for a second I thought my guest dropped them for a laugh so I pick them and asked.... Immediately she's grossed out and is on the phone to front desk. So after she flipped out we were upgraded to top floor and bonus points added to account. Way to check in LOL... OK, rooms are cramped and almost zero water pressure in shower & sink so good luck with properly washing your hair. Plus shower drain edge has a back up of water so beware. Our cab driver informed us that this is one of last remaining free hotel breakfast spots around. I recommend you skip this free meal. Why you ask well I'll share! Complete chaos with guest swarming over bad food all trying to load up plates like it was the last meal on earth..... Finished my stay and can say that I'm glad it's finished.... Decided to stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki for a few nights. It's a decent option if you're looking for a convenient location - short walk to Waikiki Beach, shopping, and dining. The room is a decent size, but can feel cramped if you pull out the single sofa bed. The closet is small and there wasn't much floor space to open up my suitcase. The AC unit was also old and finicky and sometimes felt hot and humid. The property is a bit dated, but a lot of the hotels are on Waikiki Beach if you look around the shoreline. Elevators were slow during peak hours and the hotel feels crowded at times. Breakfast is included, which is nice, but it's fairly basic and gets very busy in the mornings. The pool area is small and not much of a draw if you're hoping to lounge. Overall, Hyatt Place Waikiki is fine for a practical, mid-range hotel close to the action, but it doesn't quite stand out or feel like a true resort experience. For the resort fee, you do get a tote bag with 2 refillable tin water bottles, which is nice for staying hydrated without needing to bring your own. Please be aware that valet parking is not guaranteed. When we stayed there for Fourth of July weekend we had dust buildup in our bathroom, old blood stains on our sheet (gross) book for city view we did get that. Elevator was and is super slow, so I challenge myself to take the stairs to the 8th floor. Now let me remind you my health ain't perfect, stop on the second floor regretting my decision of taking the stairs. We did eat for the complementary breakfast it was OK but was gross to see the napkins flew all over the pool. So we didn't swim at the pool. Hyatt staff are friendly tho. We stayed here for four nights in January 2026. Upon arrival, we were initially given a room where the balcony was filled with construction materials and paint, which meant there was no privacy at all. After a long flight, we were too exhausted to deal with it right away, but a couple of hours later we requested a room change. It took some time and a bit of back-and-forth to sort things out, but they eventually moved us to a new room. Parking is valet only at $60 per night, which seems to go up every time we visit Waikiki. Still, that's the price you pay for being just a block from Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of so many great dining spots. We appreciated the complimentary basic breakfast, though I mostly took advantage of the coffee, tea, and the food credit for sandwiches. There's also a microwave in the lobby with utensils available, and they provide refillable water bottles along with water stations to keep you hydrated. It was convenient to grab beach blankets in the morning before heading out for the day. Overall, despite the rocky start, we had a nice stay and slept comfortably in our king-size bed. read more

The staff at the desk was very friendly, helpful and professional. We were able to check in quickly and received a room upgrade based on our status. The breakfast buffet is complimentary for your stay. Simple beach chairs and towels are available at the desk for free for the day. A convenient water refill station is located in the lobby, saves tons of money and plastic every day! The property is located a block away (2 min walk) from the beach. The room was nice and big. The bathroom could use an upgrade, especially the tub and shower. It's one of those "pull to shower" faucets, but only half the water goes to the shower head and the rest just keeps flowing through the faucet (which dripped all night). AC shuts itself off randomly at night and does not come back on unless you get up and turn it back on. There was a used tshirt in the middle of the room when we first got to the room. No idea how housekeeping missed that. But it actually came in handy because we used it to cover the doorstopper that was located directly in front of the closet, almost broke a toe on that at first! The safety lock on the door was missing, not great when traveling as women. Pool is tiny and seriously lacking any charm. No plants or decorations, just a plain small pool on a rooftop with some tables and chairs around it. Would expect a little more from a Hyatt in a tropical vacation location to be honest. read more

Please do not leave your breakfast on the table to get drinks or anything the birds are waiting and will get your food. The elevators only 2 small ones they are sooooo slow a line builds up then you are squeezed in cause no wants to wait longer. The beds are not comfortable and the pillows are not good. the couch bed is like sleeping with no mattress at all . Shower pressure is slow oh and the light in the bathroom if you're a woman and wanna put on makeup, you could barely see the light is way too dim. Now the view was good I was on the PH floor saw ocean and Mountain View that was good room was big enough for our air bed and our pop up dressing room. Very short walk to the if you want starbuck you need to go across the street to the Marriott Hotel I will not be staying at this hotel again. My husband and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikīkī. Overall, the hotel was okay -- nothing terrible, but nothing that made it feel like the Hyatt experience I expected. I did appreciate that they offered pool and beach towels, which was convenient. The biggest issue, and the reason I wouldn't stay here again, was the valet situation. It was basically non‑existent. By our second day, there was still no valet availability at all. We were told to try again around 11 AM, and even then, no luck. Valet is $60 a day, yet it was never actually available. Instead, they hand you a map of surrounding hotels and parking lots you can try to get into, all ranging from $45-$60 a day as well. So for our entire stay, we ended up parking at a neighboring hotel because that was our only option. As for the room, the view was mostly blocked by other hotels -- we stayed on the 10th floor -- so don't expect much scenery. It's a decent hotel, but for a Hyatt, I definitely expected more. read more

Nothing for me was an absolute dealbreaker but it may be for other guests. - hotel is a bit outdated / overall clean but kind of dusty - rooms can be really noisy / random banging audible in the morning - ocean view can be debatable compared to other hotels. The hotel isn't located right along the shore so there are some buildings blocking it. We still got lucky. - pool was under construction during our stay and we were asked to use the pool in their sister hotel down the road. - their website mentioned valet parking at about $57 per night (standard for hotels in Waikiki) but their lot was full for the duration of our stay. Nice first impression, I really liked their resort-style open concept lobby. It looks quite bougie when you first walk in. The staff were very friendly and helpful in trying to accommodate us. They gave us a number to text them if we needed anything and responded pretty quick every time. I booked a city view room with two queens and sofa bed. To our surprise, we got upgraded to partial ocean/ mountain/ and city view with two queens and sofa bed! The room is very spacious, even after pulling the sofa out into a bed. Very clean too. I liked that the sink/ mirror area is separate from the toilet/ shower room. They use community-style body wash and shampoo/ conditioner fyi. Super strong water pressure. There was not a lot of lighting in the room so I found it very difficult to do my makeup :/ They have a mini fridge but it's not very cold. AC worked great in our room! Plenty of space to store belongings including a closet, drawers, and a safe. Housekeeping comes almost every day to do light stuff (like make our beds and change our trash) and do full housekeeping service every 3rd day. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because they offered complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is located on the third floor by the pool area. They switch food items everyday. Something unique is they offer rice and miso soup with toppings such as kimchi, tofu, and pickled cucumbers. There's also cereal, yogurt parfait bar, bagels/ toast, juice, and coffee station. Seating is outdoor by the pool or indoor by the lobby. They have a microwave with plates and utensils in the lobby too! It was really nice that we got to heat up our own food since most hotels don't have microwaves available. Definitely take advantage of everything that is included in the resorts fee. Everyday, you get $5 credit from The Placery (their mini bar/ restaurant to the right of the front desk). A lot of items on there are quite expensive so usually we'd just get a water bottle or soda. This money does not roll over to the next day so make sure you use it or lose it. They also gave us two free reusable water bottles with Hyatt Place logo. I like that they have free filtered water dispensers for you to fill up in lobby and gym. You get a card during check in to rent beach towels and also beach chairs for a day. There's a small pool and free gym on the third floor. Laundry room is next to the gym and it's self-service. They also have detergent and dryer sheets for purchase but I recommend just bringing your own. It was quite frustrating paying for detergent because it wouldn't read my card at first and took a couple of tries. Same with using the washer and dryer machine. It's $4 per load but there's a sign saying it'll show as $8 per load on your card and will process back that $4 after a few days... which is very strange. Washing machine but fine but dryer sucked!! We had to pay multiple times because our clothes would not fully dry. Eventually, we just gave up and air dried our clothes in the room which was extremely inconvenient and annoying. This hotel is conveniently located on Kuhio and 5 min walk to Waikiki Beach. Next to the lobby is a Domino's Pizza. Down the street is an ABC store and a couple of restaurants. If you want to be central to Waikiki shopping area like International Marketplace and Royal Hawaiian shopping center, it's at least a 10 min walk for those who don't mind walking. We personally liked the location because it's closer to the beach and on the quiet side since it's on the end of Waikiki strip. Parking in Waikiki is such a pain in the butt. Here, they only offer valet parking and it's $63 before tax. It's also first come first serve so if you come late... you have to find somewhere else to park. The street its on is also a one way street so if you miss the entrance/ drop off area, you gotta circle around to get on the same road again. We parked at the Banyan Waikiki garage because it was a little cheaper (see my other review on that for more info). I also heard some folks park at Honolulu Zoo because it's $1.50 per hour but there's also a 4 hour limit and depending on which machine you pay at, some may or may not text you for you to extend the parking time (which is up to 24 hours.) During our stay, they had signs everywhere in that lot that they're doing some construction and don't allow overnight parking. There were plenty of cars but we didn't want to risk it at the time. Overall, my family and I had a great experience at Hyatt Place Waikiki and would definitely book this place again. Great customer service, clean and spacious rooms, complimentary breakfast, microwave and fridge access, free wifi, and very close to Waikiki Beach. The cherry on top was getting a free upgrade to partial ocean/ mountain/ city view balcony room with sofa bed!! Parking was bad but so is parking everywhere in Waikiki. read more

The check-in process was a breeze and super welcoming. Angeline really took care of us and talk story/made recommendations even though we been to Oahu many times. The room could use some love and care. The ceiling where our bed was looked like it was supporting a good amount of water and I hope there are no guests when it decides to bust open. Aside from small mold spots in the bathroom the entire suite was generally clean with a comfortable bed/sheets/pillows. Breakfast is included which is a big plus. They always had eggs, bagels and coffee each morning. Proteins were substituted on a daily basis. If you see bacon served I would recommend hopping out on Kuhio to find somewhere else to eat. Otherwise the sausage is pretty good. Juice, water and coffee were also offered as well. If you don't want to hear the traffic on Kuhio and Kalakaua I would recommend requesting for a higher floor. We were on the 4th floor. Remember you are nextdoor to residences so you may hear, see or smell (pakalolo/weed) if you decide to step out on your balcony if your room has one. Overall, it was a good stay with a pretty good view. Regardless being at the tail end of Waikiki its not too bad but definitely doable. First off, one of the stars goes to Dino who checked us in. He was absolutely delightful and made it feel like they really wanted us here. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel was fine as it was just a couple of blocks from Waikiki Beach. The problem with the location though was the noise from the streets. It was kind of like being on the Las Vegas Strip without the casinos. It was hard to get to sleep it was so noisy. The room was also very small compared to what we expected. One suggestion I would have for the bar is to get a different chardonnay, because the one you serve is awful. read more

I stayed here for my boyfriend and I's four-year anniversary. We arrived a few hours early due to our flight, and Angeline was kind enough to allow us an early check-in! She informed us about all the exciting excursions and amenities the hotel offers. When she heard it was our anniversary, she put together a thoughtful goodie package for us, which we truly appreciated! The taro chips were delicious, and who doesn't love Hawaiian chocolate? Upon entering our room, we noticed a lingering chemical cleaning smell that lasted for a few hours. It eventually went away but we had to keep our patio door open for a while. The hotel is a bit farther from Waikiki Beach and the shopping strip, but it wasn't too bad of an extra 5 minute walk. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, which was super convenient for us. Rather than going out for breakfast, we were able to "save" by enjoying the free breakfast. It was a bit windy on some days since most of the seating is outside. They also have a pool on the same floor, which was usually pretty empty throughout the day. If you're looking for a break from the beach, having an empty pool was something we needed and really enjoyed! The staff was incredibly sweet, and we loved our stay at Hyatt Place! read more

Honestly this place is not the best looking also one of the older buildings here. However the staff is why I will give this place a 5 star review. Let's start with KOA. This guys is the epitome of awesome, humble, helpful and plain out the reason locals get they're good name. Actually this guy is the reason they say Hawaiin's are good hearted ppl. So the wheelchair company sent my uncles wheelchair to a different Hyatt and KOA without thinking twice offered me a ride as he was just clocking out. Literally made me know that this guy is pure awesomeness. He has a baby he should have been getting home to instead helping a stranger. KOA from the bottom of my heart brudduh always know that you are genuine. You help ppl like myself know that there is still goodness in the world. Hopefully next time I come back you running this place. Which is why I say I give this Hyatt a 5 the staff here all have a little Koa in them. The atmosphere is pretty family oriented. This place is OHANA. Beach and stores close by. My only negative thing to say is parking is horrible. Parking on the street is best but first cone first serve. Would recommend to anyone on a budget. Walking distance to Waikiki beach, free breakfast, large clean rooms and daily housekeeping, $5 daily credit you can use to buy a drink or candy, refillable water station in lobby, all for a relatively cheaper hotel cost than most others on the strip. We rented a car and was able to find free overnight parking behind the zoo close to the park. About a 15 min walk. Complaints: Loud traffic and rooster calling every morning at 6am! Breakfast on third floor open roof has limited options. Aggressive birds constantly swarming at your food whenever you're not looking. Pool closed but it's so tiny it's practically useless, just go enjoy the beach. If I visit Honolulu again, I'd pay more and stay somewhere slightly more central. This hotel is at the very edge of Waikiki downtown and back road is very sketchy with a lot of homelessness. read more

Hyatt Place is not fancy, but there's bus stops across the street just steps away from the hotel and you can't beat the convenience. I recommend staying on the 3rd floor where the complimentary breakfast buffet and gym are stationed. Typically the dining area gets pretty damn packed if you're not there before 8am, so we just fill up our plates and take it back to our room to dine in peace and quiet. Gym is actually pretty decent, and it's not too busy in the afternoons. The pool, however, is severely lacking. It's really small and in an awkward area right by the dining space. You might as well take a 5 minute stroll and walk to the beach. There's also a laundry room, which I didn't go check out, but it's nice to have the option to do your laundry. As a Hyatt member, we also got a goodie bag with reusable water bottles, $5 dining credit/day to use at the grab-and-go market or kitchen, and 2 free bottles of water daily. read more

Booked this hotel through Costco Vacation Package, most recently. I love that they have a daily breakfast buffet which saves me time and money. My package includes the daily breakfast which serves scrambled eggs. Also either bacon, sausage and either pancake or french toast depending on the day. Then banana and zucchini bread, different bread to toast. Fresh fruits, coffee, juices, milk and other non dairy milk. They also have hard boiled eggs, miso soup, rice and kimchee. This was my 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel, which includes the year that they first opened. I'm happy to see that they did some work compared to the last time I was here. The room I have was pretty comfortable and spacious. It has a view of the ocean from a distance. It had 2 queen beds and a couch that converts to a sofa bed. Comfortable bed with white soft linens. Small fridge enough for water and drinks and some snacks. Big TV but not much channels to watch. Usual coffeemaker. Clean bathroom. It's nice that they have 3 elevators in the tower we're in, which were pretty fast. I've stayed in hotels where there's one big elevator and quite slow. The beach is about a block and a half away which is not too far. They have a snack bar that serves light meals like sandwiches. I also had a daily $5 credit at the snack bar which was nice but just enough for a bottle of juice or soda. Parking is valet only and cost $53 per night. So prepare to pay if you have a rental car. I just parked at another parking garage which charged $25 per day. Staff were all nice, friendly and helpful from the reception desk, to the bell hop, housekeeping, concierge and snack bar. I think it's affordable and reasonable especially for the comfort and relaxed friendly atmosphere. read more

Purchased a speciality queen oceanview room, got a hole in the wall oceanview. The balcony was facing the other hotel buildings. But online it show oceanview in the balcony. I was very upset considering I paid extra for the better view. So I complained at the front desk. They were very understanding and offerred the next available oceanview rooms for the next day or give us complimentary resort fee. We didn't want to have to repack our clothes and waste time moving to another room. We just took the resort fee refund instead. Overall, the speciality queen beds with the cityview, we stayed at was spacious and comfortable. The hotel also provides breakfast made the overall stay enjoyable. The walk to the beach was less than 5mins, which is amazing. However, there was only 2 elevators for our tower and one of them broke down during our stay. The wait up to get up and down were terrible. People end up taking the stairs up 10 or more levels to avoid the extremely long waiting time to get on a elevator. read more

Hyatt place was a nice get away for us. I had hundreds of thousands of points that I was itching to use, so I picked Hyatt at 12k points a night. Excellent rate! Easy check in. Waived resort fees if you're Explorist or above. That saves $35 a night. Nice open air resort with lots of perks. **Hyatt gives water bottles to guests and offers refill stations for free. Excellent way to stay hydrated. **2 little gift shops. A good place to pick up Aloha Maid for a $1. Trust me on this one. **excellent free breakfast. They rotate. Every day they have scrambled eggs. They rotate sliced sausage, pork sausage links, and bacon. They also rotate pancakes, French toast sticks and waffles. They have excellent coffee!! I also saw a variety of hard boiled eggs, cereals, breads, kimchee, miso soup and rice, and fruit/yogurt/granola. VERY nice breakfast. **BIG safe in room. Fridge in room. Walking distance to ABC store and Beach as well as other shopping. ** Fabulous location. Negatives. ** no microwaves in the rooms. That's hard if you're in an extended stay. There is one on the first floor for everyone. ** small pool. Really small for a resort. It's maybe 16 by 32, perfect square. The beach is 2 blocks away but I like swimming in a pool and sunning on the beach. ** housekeeping. UGH. No matter when we left the room, it seemed like they never serviced it. They'd come around 4 pm to make the bed. They did a full service every 3 days but it still took forever. ** WiFi connection. No issues connecting at first. Then we had a rolling blackout. After that we couldn't connect. I called front desk and they helped me get connected again by telling me to connect without WiFi. Weird. **Parking. If you're globalist it's free. If you aren't, it's $57 a night. If you rent a car just know that parking is insane. ** concierge. Nice to have in hotel. But we ended up paying $160 each for Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona when we didn't need to. We didn't know better. Now we do. Those are free. Book early for tix to Arizona. Just so you know. There's food trucks all down Cartwright Ave. Good food! It's right there. Use it to save $$. ABC store. Good place for liquor, snacks, or souvenirs. It's a block down. Beach. 2 blocks down. City Bus. OMG!! $3 fare and you need cash and exact change. No change available. You can buy a pass if you'll be here awhile. We used it a LOT. Clean. Safe. Definitely the way to travel!! Parking situation was such a mess. When we arrived on a Saturday evening, we were told valet parking was $50/night and unavailable but there was a self parking garage nearby for similar pricing per night. The garage was full so we spent a bunch of time trying to see where to park. We ended up parking at the zoo, as it was one of few lots open and was more affordable. We had to worry about parking at the end of each of our long days out--so that was a huge inconvenience for our trip. Walking to and from the zoo parking lot to the hotel with our young family was not always the best. The parking machines at the zoo allow you to enter in your cell phone number for them to text you when it's time to renew your parking hours, but not all the machines allow you to do that (we found out the hard way)--my husband had to walk over there at 1am one night to renew the ticket as the machine he had used didn't allow him to enter in his phone number. SUCH a mess... I get parking in the waikiki beach area is notoriously busy. Each hotel needs to have something set in place, arrangement with another hotel parking lot, maybe the city can think of more parking lot area...something! Anything! It was an added stress. The breakfast buffet had great variety each morning, but they need to have a larger area available and also not have it outdoor or consider different area as it was overrun by a bunch of birds! It was kind of gross to eat at tables with bird poopy chairs and them flying around. The rooms are also a bit small and the lighting for the bathroom area is inconvenient as one light switch controlled both the toilet/shower area and the outside mirror sink area. Made it not the greatest when folks were getting ready while trying to let others still sleep. We were told housekeeping would come daily, they didn't come for two of the six days we stayed. High points: Good customer service Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach volley balls available to take to beach Close to beach and shopping/dining areas Overall would not recommend. We've stayed at other hotels in waikiki beach area and prefer those better than the Hyatt Place. read more

I wanted to love this place, but I just didn't. Location is far down Waikiki strip and a bit of a walk to other stuff, especially the convention center where I was going every day. It is only about a block to the beach, but it's a very small and crowded beach. Upon check in I was informed the pool was being renovated and inaccessible (but we were allowed to use a pool at a nicer hotel down the street). The 'free beach chairs' were camping chairs that were very uncomfortable. The pool towels were pretty old and tattered. The ac in my room didn't work. They did send someone right away to fix it, but he let me know that this is common at this hotel and he is constantly being called to fix them. It worked better after the maintenance but never fully cooled the room. The room was really small and dark, and it was noisy with city sounds coming thru cracks around the window. It was clean though, and the cleaners were really nice and friendly. They did have a pretty good included breakfast spread and water fill stations throughout the lobby. The fitness area looked nice, too. If you're on a budget and want to be in Waikiki, this will work, but you probably won't want to spend much time in your room. read more

Here is an honest review - good and bad Good...actually great. Hotel staff, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Not so good 1. Elevators - Plan to wait A LONG TIME for the elevator to stop on your floor. A seriously LONG TIME. It doesn't matter what time of day it is or what floor...lobby or the floor you are staying on. 2. Breakfast - EXTREMELY disappointed. Only one day of our stay did they actually have pancakes or waffles. For two different days they had Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. The same ones that have a 20 year life span. When they had eggs, they were scrambled. The bread selection was not tasty. The bagels tasted soooo bland. 3. The pool (if you want to call it that) was closed for repairs. It was a TINY pool. So you had to go to a hotel nearby to use their pool. We did and that pool was also pretty small and it was packed and all of the lounge chairs were taken. Pro tip - Their valet parking price is VERY HIGH. SUV's are $72 per day plus tax. Save yourself a ton and park at the zoo, which is only two blocks away at only $24 a night. The trick is to park there before 6pm and be sure to include your cell phone number when you park. It will then text you when your parking is up and give you the option to extend your parking for up to 13 hours. Also it is easy to come and go from the zoo parking lot, versus if you park at the hotel and have to wait for them to get your vehicle plus pay a tip each time. read more

Room was good, no complaints and thankfully we were in the corner of the third floor so noise was minimal, even though third floor is where breakfast is served. Otherwise besides occasional street traffic, it was quiet and didn't hear people. Breakfast is solid for a free hotel breakfast and they had some food offerings, American and Asian (rice, kimchi, tofu). They had different meats each day like bacon, chicken sausage and Portuguese sausage along with the regular offerings, bread, bagels, fruit and cereal. Do not pass on the banana or cinnamon bread! I liked it so much I even grabbed a few slices to enjoy on the way home! They have mini breakfast on the main floor as well along with more seating. The pool looked really, really, really sad and was under construction/renovations. I hope it's an upgrade because it straight up reminded me of a pool you'd see at a HoJo in Bentonville, Arkansas. This is paradise, cmon Hyatt! Staff was friendly and helpful, they have beach towels and chairs for the beach but the chairs were lackluster. They were camping chairs when I was looking more for a beach chair but ended up renting one for the day instead. Some sketch characters walking around but I didn't feel in danger and they didn't bother anyone. Location is at the far end of the Waikiki strip so everything is easily accessible by foot and if not, there's a bus stop across the street that will allow you to adventure further! We bought a HOLO card so we could get over to Ala Moana and Chinatown, saving money instead of getting an Uber or Lyft. All in all, this is a reasonably priced place to stay when in Waikiki! read more

Pretty good stay at this Hyatt place The location was nice and only a block from the beach. Free boogie boards & chairs to rent daily.. The staff was really nice. Rooms were fine but balcony door was almost impossible to open & close. Also beware of the elevators - there's only two and you will wait several minutes at times, especially at breakfast. Break was decent. They had standard offering plus many Asian breakfast options since half the guests were Asian. They ran out of fruit a couple times which was the majority of our plates. Also the countless birds were beyond annoying as they constantly were grabbing food off idiot's tables who left food unattended. Hyatt needs to have signs everywhere stating not to do that! They've created a bad situation where it's NOT pleasant to eat!!! We had a daily credit to use at the snack bar, but the offerings were very limited, so we got tired of the few items they had by the end of the week. Especially since we just came in from Seattle's Hyatt place and they had a small grocery store as their snack bar.! Parking was a bit tricky finding a spot overnight, luckily, we only had to park a couple times. The rest of the trip we just walked everywhere and did a tour that picked us up at the top of the block. NOTE - their address is on the street that does not have the car drop off entrance, which is on a one-way street so when Google has you pull up, you can't enter the one-way exit to pull the car up & therefore have to drive all the way around the block to pull in to their driveway. read more
