I like the end product of my gel manicure, but my biggest complaint is that they were very rushed with me, hurrying each step of the process. Absolute worst pedicure I have ever gotten.. the guy starts off by cutting way too much of the nail off, then cutting my skin and taking off my actual skin (not cuticles) around my toenails. Then sprays alcohol on them multiple times causing me to squirm in pain. Didn't even take my calluses off and starts putting the wrong color of gel on and has to change it by soaking it in more alcohol. I've wasted about and hour at this point all while in pain, my toe nails are destroyed from all the cutting and alcohol, and just wanted to get out of there. Someone else had to come, be rude to me, and "fix it" and still got charged 30$ to be tortured basically. This was the most awful experience I have ever had at a salon. I just went in for a pedicure and the entire time the man doing my nails was looking up my shorts. I noticed and immediately pulled my legs closed. He continued pushing my legs apart and blatantly looking up my shorts. This was beyond the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had and I consider this a form of sexual harassment. I really wanted to give this place five stars but the only thing really preventing me from that is that the place is really crammed and its a much more of an assembly line kinda feel and they do cash only tips- I never carry cash with me anymore so this is a bit of an inconvenience. Overall, I would certainly come back! I got a shellac manicure and spa pedicure for $50! You really can't beat that! Also, the massages were excellent! My new favorite nail salon since moving to Colorado. All the staff are polite and nice. They always ask me how I'm doing. I don't find the language barrier at all that difficult if you're a social person. I've never came in and they couldn't take me. Wait time has never been that long to the point where I want to leave. I always get my gel manicure done here $30 total including tip. It lasts me until my next visit which I love since i use my hands a lot at work. Awesome place! Best in Boulder! read more

I love this place. They're a no-frills nail salon that gets the job done well and cheap. My shellac manicures often last between 2-3 weeks and it's not because of chipping that I end up going in to have it taken off. They're relatively friendly - don't expect them to want to talk to you the entire time, which I prefer. I love this place and will continue to go back. Tried to go in for a pedicure at 430 and was told they were closed--despite their closing time listed at 5. For those who try to go here, make sure you take into account the amount of time it actually takes to get your service when you decide what time to go. I.e. 5pm closing doesn't ACTUALLY mean 5pm: it means 5pm-length of mani/pedi etc. Probably safer to go several hours before they close, in order to guarantee service. Previously I would have given them 5 stars and I have been a regular for many years. Recently my daughter and I went in for mani/pedis on a Sunday. Someone who has never previously been doing shellac manis did ours and they were dreadful! Bubbles, lifting around the cuticles and sides and my cuticles looked like they had been groomed with a weed wackier. To make matters worse, I now have nail fungus. (this is the only place that has done my nails in 2 years) I gave them 2 stars instead of one because I wanted to give them credit for their previous track record. read more

I had previous shellac manicure removed and got a new shellac manicure. There were a lot of colors to choose from, and the staff seemed friendly. But I felt that my manicure was rushed and the results are just ok (I had to point out areas to fix that she otherwise would have not fixed). I felt that they were very rough on my nails while removing the shellac, even after I asked for them to be gentle. The biggest problem was the lack of massage. She took but just a few seconds to apply lotion to my hands, and that was it. I consider getting a manicure a treat, and the massage is usually the best part of a manicure experience, so I'm very disappointed. I won't be back and don't recommend this salon. Update: Its been seven days since my manicure. In the removal process, he filed the tops of my nails down to such a degree that they are now incredibly weak and breaking. My polish started chipping almost right away, and now that is been a week, most of my nails are chipped. My last shellac manicure lasted past the two week mark. Such quick, quality work! I was so pleased with how quickly I was able to get in and out, without compromising how good my nails were.

My pedicure looks awesome BUT my pinky toe infection does not! Also, I messed up 1 nail trying to maneuver through the crowded salon. As the nail tech was fixing it, he ruined 2 more nails. I had to go back to the chair where he "fixed it" by applying 3 more coats of color nail polish and 2 clear top coats. I was then told not to wear shoes the rest of the day.... again, the final product looks nice, infection & I couldn't wear shoes the rest of the day. Proceed with caution. read more

Contempo Nails is close to where I live and convenient but I have a couple of issues: 1, For the same service I am charged a different price each time, sometimes $45 other time $50 or $55 2, When I have a Pedicure and a Nail fill they do both at the same time. I like to relax when I get a pedicure and am not crazy about having them use electronic nail equipment while my feet are in the pedicure spa water. 3. Not the best atmosphere, I walked in exactly at opening time 9:30 and stood there for 15 min and none of the staff would acknowledge my presents. (Guess it time to find another Salon) read more

I have been coming here for about 2 years and always leave happy with my nails. The only major problem I have with this place is that they do not honor their appointments!!! They constantly have people waiting even though they claimed to have an appointment, it has happened to me on multiple occasions. I've been going to Contempo Nails for years. Tonight was the last time I'll go here. I've always had fake nails and have only been able to grow my own within the last 6 mos. It sounds silly because they are only fingernails, but I enjoy looking down and seeing my own nails, long and healthy. I went in for a manicure tonight and specifically said I wanted my nails to be kept long. Tony asked me twice if he should cut them and I said "no". I ended up leaving with nails so short a few don't even pass the top of my finger. I'm very disappointed my request was not honored. Super bad service. Staff was extremely rude when I went to try to get a fill for my acrylic nails. I was ignored when I walked in and when finally addressed was very rudely told to come back later. This has happened to me at other salons as well, but other salons at least have to courtesy to tell you a better time to come back or put you down for an appointment. You're there to see your friend, or in this case, your favorite nail lady who teases you just right and takes very good care of your nails, My girl at the salon is truly My Girl -- I love her, even though we don't talk much. and the seats close together? I've had more fun conversations with other clients that way. Just jump in and start talking. Pretty soon, everyone's involved -- like at the home of a friend. Polish smell? Never noticed, but gee, it's a place for nail polish, right? Get over the small stuff, get to know the really nice people there, have fun, and enjoy the fact you don't have to spend a lot. I had very high hopes for this salon, but to my dismay it was not at all like the reviews. I walked in with my cousin and we had two appointments for dip manis at 10. They only started with me, no hand massage, no cleaning under my nails or clipping dead skin around the cuticals. It was very rushed and mind you, they hadn't even started on my beloved cousin. She had to sit there for 30 minutes until she was given poor service. She as well had no hand massage, cleaning under the nails, or clipping dead skin. They also left stray polish around the nails and on the skin. They were very rude and on top of that there was some sort of chihuahua running around barking during the whole experience. Now, I can understand that this type of treatment might be expected at a very cheap salon but let me tell you sweetie... THIS DIP MANICURE COSTED $40 EACH!!!!! We had to stay positive and nice while we were in there despite their rudeness and failure to comply to our requests, we thanked the lady and she didn't respond because she was staring at her phone. Horrible horrible service. Do not go! You will be disappointed, it will take your day from a strong 9 to a 2. I have been here quite a few times and always had a good experience. They always have tons of staff so you never have to wait to get service, they are fast and efficient, inexpensive, and nice. They have the largest variety of shellac colors than any of the other places i've tried in the last few months which I really appreciated. I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

For an inexpensive pedicure ($25), the pedicure was fine. But when I came in they pulled the "we'll just be a minute-put your feet in the water" trick and then made me sit in the water for 20 minutes, which drives me crazy. I wish they'd just tell me up front it was 20 minutes. Plus, their wireless was down and they said I just had to wait. The total pedicure was also less than 30 minutes so overall the experience was average. read more

I was slightly hesitant to come here after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. I walked in and only had to wait for the amount of time it took to choose the nail polish I wanted. Linda did my nails and she did a great job. She was thorough in making sure they were all even and she was careful not to grind the skin (which I've never walked out of any other salon without at least two cuts on the cuticle.) She was friendly and could carry a conversation in English easily and didn't rush or make me feel like an inconvenience. In fact, I took my 3-year-old with me and she was welcomed. It is a very clean salon with lots of lighting (natural lighting at the front of the shop) and its well ventilated (I didn't smell anything until she was actually doing my nails.) Someone commented on the pedicure stations being too close together, but there was at least 2 feet between each chair, so I don't know what they were referring to. The chairs have obviously been used but they're clean. You can't expect them to look to brand new with how many people use them. Their pricing is reasonable. I got a full set of Solar nails with polish and it was only $35. I will definitely go there again. read more
