Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and taken advantage of. I struggle with significant anxiety around doctors, especially in clinical settings, and instead of feeling supported, I felt judged and spoken down to. The provider I met with had very poor bedside manner and made assumptions about me and my body within minutes of meeting me. At one point, she even commented that I was "getting bright red" while questioning me, which only heightened my anxiety. I was too nervous to speak up in the moment. What stood out the most was being told multiple times that I "never have to come back" and could just return to the Smithtown location. That felt unprofessional and dismissive--especially given that I had just paid a significant amount out of pocket for the visit. To make matters worse, I was informed that treatment would require a follow-up appointment, leaving me feeling stuck after spending money on a visit that ultimately didn't help me. I deeply regret not staying with my original location. I've referred many friends and family members to Schweiger Dermatology over the years and truly value the practice as a whole, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I sincerely wish my visit to the Deer Park office had reflected the level of care and compassion I've consistently received elsewhere.

I just had the absolute worst experience with Dr Mary Infantino of H&H in Plainview. I was on a…read moretrip to Ireland and was suffering from excruciating pain on the left side of my face. It was awful throbbing and shooting pain. I couldn't eat, drink, talk, brush my teeth, etc without crying from the pain. I went to urgent Care in Dublin twice and it was finally assessed that I had Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is an immensely painful condition. I called H&H from Dublin, Ireland to explain to Dr Mary Infantino what was going on, the pain I was in, that I need to be seen for trigeminal neuralgia, and would need a script for an MRI. The initial callous response I got was to get the script from the Dr that diagnosed me! To which I actually had to reiterate I'm in another country! I need my primary care to give me script to get the MRI when I get home! I proceed to schedule an appointment for the Friday a week after I got home because she couldn't see me any earlier. I had appointment set for 2:30. I leave work early but was running a couple of minutes late. I called to let them know, to which the response I was given was: Don't bother coming in, she has to leave and is not waiting!! I was incredulous!! I was driving and nearly there, just a few minutes late and I was going in to see her about something REALLY serious!! Thankfully, I called a friend that I now feel is like my angel! She made a call to an internist and explained my situation. His response was: Send her right over! Last minute on a Friday afternoon! I drove right over to see him. His staff was so welcoming and wonderful. He was smart, caring and thorough. After a full examination, bloodwork and an EKG he confirmed the diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia. In addition, I have a pinched nerve causing pain and inflammation from my ear down to my shoulder. Guess that happened as a bodily reaction to the pain in my face. Then, it gets better. He calls a neurologist on his cell phone and asks him to please see me immediately and that he was sending me right over. The neurologist wasn't even really working that day. He just happened to be in the office doing paperwork. And this is basically end of day Friday! I go, he sees me, gives me examination and then has his nurse give me an EEG and another test called BAER (or something like that?). In addition, he gave me his cell phone number to call him over the weekend if the pain comes back!!!! What?!?! OMG I was beside myself. I couldn't believe it. I didn't leave until about 6:30pm. They called my insurance company and learned I did not need approval code so they wrote me script to get 2 MRIs. These are real doctors!! Caring doctors!! And this was my first time seeing them whereas I went to Dr Infantino on a recommendation and have been going for about 4 years. I will NEVER go back to see Dr Mary Infantino or Heart and Health in Plainview EVER again!! They obviously do not care about their patients or at least she does not. Strongly do NOT recommend.
